D34th, I was kidding dear...could care less whether my name is mentioned or not. Just thought i'd pick on ya for your description of the script *nods*
You of all people should know that... <3
it works i guess, but have you thought about using Tabs, or Menu's?...combine all of them together into ONE dialog. I downloaded your full script and saw it in action and was uber confused :s
not sure what you are getting at jaytea, bit tired and slighly out of it...so for now i just edited my remark and removed the bracket mismatch portion until i can further evaluate what i did and said...thanks for bringing to my attention that i may have made an error!
k...im only commenting because........................
"you don't need all the halts"
seriously people, i think he got it the first time, and clearly stated he isn't going to take them out because he will break it. So, instead of merely posting ANOTHER useless comment...try HELPING him, TEACHING him...
I would, but I have no interest for two reasons:
-it works WITH the halts, who cares how many there are
-i have no interest in editing a "gay" script...or even looking through it.
You realize you can download previous versions of mIRC from the internet...right Rider91?
If you want another version you can either look it up...or you can send me a message telling me which and I'd be happy to provide you with a link!
@Jaytea wow, so i totally didn't notice that it was a 2 year old post, no idea how i managed to find a post from that long ago in the first place. Thanks for pointing that out jaytea. Also, I quite agree with something you said
I.E.
-The "it doesn't matter how it's coded as long as it works" philosophy invariably leads to scruffy code that's difficult to maintain, read and learn from.
guess I hadn't taken that into consideration when I commented. Though, I saw someone not giving constructive criticism and took personal offense to it because people have said in the past that my coding is sloppy. But, in the end, it wasn't the time or the place for it, I realize that now. Thanks for bringing me to that realization.
And @Jethro_ i have no idea what you were trying to say :S
does it work? i'm not interested in....but if it works, who cares if it's "sloppy". That's a matter of opinion anyway. But, if you MUST comment on such a matter, how about you make it less "sloppy" according to your standards, chadbdurham.
If you would like you can search my posts and find 2 images of my similar AKA script (named Tracker Dialog & Tracker Dialog 2). I could post direct links here, but this is about your very nice script, and I would find that rather rude. I will however provide you with the descriptions related to those images...maybe that will help you better understand what I mean
IP/NickTrack - Shows all IP's tracked and how many nicknames its used since being tracked showing the latest nickname used on it. Double click on any IP to show the list of nicknames ever used on that IP.
IP/NickTrack - Shows all nicknames tracked and how many IP's its used since being tracked showing the latest IP used with it. Double click on any nickname to show the list of IP's ever used on with that nickname.
The script also allows settings to be enabled to show BOTH (last, last five, or all) of these features on join of a user.
I guess what I was meaning was.............All the IP addresses used by a single nickname. My reference to a suggestion to you is concerning the first description above. if i still haven't made much sense to you, taking a look at those images might help more. :)
FordLawnmower: I made a similar AKA script....(different, yet similar concept)
Just a thought: AKA IP/Address Script
^ meaning, if a nickname comes on using a different IP address than the usual, it would add the new one and show it as an AKA (as well as with the old one)
I'd love to see how you would go about that. Nice work on the AKA script +like
SierraMist: have you ever considered that people have to start somewhere....they aren't just an expert at coding right from stage 1. BUT, they saw something that was both useful, and pleasing to the eye, so they decided to USE that script. Like myself....we'll use me for an example
i am decent at coding, but i am nowhere near good enough or excelled enough to code my own wallops/switchbar. In the meantime i am using an already coded one, while still giving recognition that it isn't mine, until i AM capable of making my own. YES, it was changed to fit the theme of my own script...doesn't mean i "edited and called myself a coder"
...if you didn't want your script out there (calling it yours for arguments sake) then you shouldn't have 1:released it 2:helped others and gave it to them (because obviously, it got out....whichever you did)
you really have no room to point fingers...you are putting yourself as low as the people you despise (the people who also claim their stuff was ripped)
again: im not agreeing that you coded it, or didn't.....just playing both sides of the field so u see that what your doings isn't really called for
oh, and when i took the time to look at the links you posted....i noticed i was the first
Had you bothered to speak to me in ANY way shape or form....i included in my script that the wallops bar and switchbar WEREN'T my work....in the ABOUT dialog
"All Scripts With The Exception Of: 'Dialogs' (SwitchBar/WallopsBar) Was Coded By The Makers Of Perpetual iRc. Credit Is Given to An Unknown Coder. A vertical Scrollbar Has Been Added For the Use Of Multiple Servers/Chans, and Switchbar Icons have been Created and Changed By the Makers Of Perpetual Irc."
AND
u seem to be oh so very proud of your scroll in the wallops bar.........it wasn't hard to do. anyone who knows how to use dialog software could easily do so, which is what i did: the following would be MY code, where's yours?
dialog switchbar {
title "switchbar"
size -1 -1 76 200
option dbu
list 1, -1 0 78 185, sort size
scroll "", 2, 67 0 9 170, hide group range 0 200
}
i don't release code...for the simple reason that i know people rip and i want nothing to do with it.
but that's personal preference....some people write code for their own personal use and some people write code to release when they are finished. You know how people are, if you are going to release something, if it's any good, just accept that it is going to be ripped :P but...if you want to waste your time having people removed (with legit proof that they are doing so) ....have fun, just know that your efforts are pretty much futile...it'll never end. All the credit to you, though! :)
and good job with the script (images of it) i also enjoy dialogs.....i include one with most all of my scripts if i see the smallest reason to have one xD and i CAN code them quite well TY :)
+ like
i don't know why i even bother with this site nemore...i no longer use chat rooms, i no longer use mIRC and i no longer code...maybe its all of your catchy, enjoyable sense of humors that keep me coming back for more. or maybe....its the arguments? xD
<3 y'all
i didn't do it, it wasn't me! xD
i love how i basically started this long "argument??" and was hardly mentioned ...dunno if thats a good thing or bad thing.
I notice its always ONE person being bashed...that person (not mentioning any names) should take a hint ;x
i haz an idea...y'all don't like eachother. Some (making sure to mention no names) of you believe you are better than everyone else..which causes problems....maybe u could try steering clear of eachother? ignore eachothers comments entirely? or would that be TOO easy? though, i can say i like reading the arguments xD, they are funny as all get out.
<3
@xdesoto i <3 u :)
@ _dean_ actually, i came here to view the post? y else would i click on it in the first place? xdesoto is a close friend of mine, i follow his posts..
@jethro_ i was adding to the "healthy debate" by saying everyone is unique, not better or otherwise than others....and d/w i wasn't referring to you. my "let's get off our high horse" was a means of not being rude and pointing fingers.
