Introduction

tired of people taking your nick and u cant do a rats ass about it? well heres your fix!

just paste this into your ALIASES and change the <your nick> and <your pass> to umm. ur nick and pass. u need to have your nick registered in order for this to work.

when your nick is being spoofed type /rec.nick (that can be changed to whatever you want :) and in two seconds u'll have your nick back!

not very fancy, but effective.

First off, this requires NickServ on the server, and that /msg NickServ is the right one to send it to. Just using /ns or /nickserv would be better.
Second, this is not half as good as the Services addons/snippets that exists...

This is useless, as nickserv must be available to use it, and nickserv (or at least all of the versions that I've seen) have an option to automatically stop a person from using a nick that they haven't identified for. And on most networks (or at least most of the ones I've been on) nickserv will automatically change your nick from one that is registered one minute after you try to use it, unless you identify to nickserv for the nick.
