Description

Vortex is an applet I originally made on May 28, 2010. It was based off of the rotate applet I released on here 2 weeks ago. Depth was added, as well as some other tweaks.

Fun fact: There are 12,500 particles.

Well. Shoot. I have no experience in that type of stuff in Processing.

A note, though: Processing is basically Java. As in, it'll run any Java code. So your best bet would be to find some Java snippets involving downloading stuff.

This might help also: http://processing.org/reference/libraries/#data_protocols

I was trying to figure out how to make an http connection to download data and parse something like XML. How would this be accomplished in Processing?

Keep tinkering with code and you might come up with something neat. These formulas I use are mostly ones that I've picked up over time from experimenting and looking at others' codes and tutorials. The more you pick up, the more things you could do with them.

If you ever do need any help, please ask.

BlueThen, thanks for the like. I was looking at a bit of your code and testing them out with modified variables. These aren't really too difficult to implement as long as you have the proper mathematical formulas. I'm just having a hard time coming up with an idea for an app that would be useful.

Not bad BlueThen. I just automated the demo extraction, so now when you upload these the demo should be available as soon as the virus check has completed.
