This build started with the frame and a good deal on the FC + ESC combo on a local auction platform. The ESC at least is way way overkill for this.
The Mitsuko is a quite minimalist frame and needs a bit of creative problem solving to install all hardware. In my case I added a few 3d printed TPU parts: Camera adapter, antenna holder, vtx tray, motor soft mounts.

Total weight with props but without battery: 236 g.

I changed to a much lighter propeller, now the motors reach their sweet spot and it flies way better. RPM filter also helps.

I bit the bullet and updated to Betaflight 4.2, it flies great now. The motor in the rear is definitely overheating though. It could either be the remaining oscillations from the d-term or the motors are just overtaxed with this relatively large prop area. Next I'll try what it does with bidirectional dshot and rpm filtering, then smaller props.

rpm filtering didn't make it fly perceptibly better, it still has issues with propwash. Motor temperatures are way better though, the rear motor is now no longer scorching hot, merely scalding.

very nice! never saw a 4inch plus inhere or probably in general!
would be very nice to see how it perform, a dvr post would be very nice.

Here you go:

I'm still not that confident in flying this quad and the tune needs some work with propwash handling. Im sure it could do more than this with a better tune and of course a better pilot...
Also I'm still flying EV100 goggles which is the reason why the dvr looks so crap, not the fault of the camera or vtx.
The amp meter claims it topped out at almost 90 amps, but that's probably bullshit.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
