I already have a Kingkong ET115 & myself & the kids really enjoy flying it. We live across the road from a school & a micro quad is ideal for flying there.

I had ordered some spare / replacement parts for the ET115 which were not getting used (this thing can take a beating, apart from the prop guards which we have broken a few of). So decided I would built another one with some upgraded parts.

Better: Camera, Motors, VTX & 3s Batteries.

The ET115 white canopy gets dirty easy with grass / mud stains. So I painted the spare one black & the kids said that looks like Darth Vader’s helmet.
So DRONE VADER (my wife came up with the name) was birthed.

Camera Upgrade: The Caddix EOS1 camera is way better than the stock camera. It fits in with no mods, just mount camera into the canopy & screwed the lens from outside, no extra fittings required! If you have an ET115, upgrade the camera!

Motor Upgrade: Realacc Orange85 1106 / 6000kv, I will be honest here, I only got these motors cause they were all black (fitted in with the Darth Vader look) & could run 3s (& they are cheap). I watched a few reviews on youtube & some were good & some not so. So I ordered 5 of them in case 1 burns up. These motors on 3s have lots more punch than the original motors on 2s. The bearings are average, but so far so good they are still working.

VTX Upgrade: The Eachine VTX03, this set on 200mW gives a way better range than the stock Kingkong VTX. I have mounted it inside the top canopy, rather than below the stack like the original.

This thing can take a beating & is great fun to fly (for a quad with prop guards)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
