Author notes:

Megapede was written to demonstrate mIRC's ability to play games.

Review by: Hawkee

This is a little script I made just for the fun of it. It simulates the classic arcade game titled "Centipede", but there are some gameplay features that I had to remove due to speed problems. There are 5 fairly easy levels to play, and you have 3 lives to complete them with. Since this requires such a large amount of CPU power, I wouldn't recommend you try it without at least a pentium 133. The main reason I did this was to see what can be done with some of the new features that were added to mIRC 5.3. I believe this is the first action game for mIRC, but I may be mistaken. Feel free to give it a try and any feedback would be welcome, but I doubt I'll have the time to make any newer versions. Enjoy.

Hmm, i think it woulda beeen fun on a processor in the 100s of mhz speeds. On a 2.8ghz, you just die.

I tryed it with 5.31 and change line 98 with 50 ms just to play a bit
quickly :)
Impressive game of 1998, generation ahead! Thumbs up Hawkee.
I do mirc scripting since the end of 2001, I only remember an amazing "puyo puyo" clone with music and sound FX's. (maybe from a page at mirc.com)

Thanks, it was definitely a fun project. I built something like this back in school in Pascal so I decided to port it over to mIRC. Took me a couple weeks to put it together but I loved every minute of it.
