I can confirm the code is working, But really, I can't see the point of a script, Could of just pointed people to the website concerned. Screenshot of Result: http://puu.sh/Cpn7

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EICAR_test_file
It's called the EICAR Standard Anti-Virus Test File.

The reason who some people's antivirus software doesn't pick it up is that they've put exclusions into the AV to ignore it.

Script? I do not see such a thing here.

MSE picked it up, good job. However, this does not test if the AV is fully active or the definitions are up to date.

I'm not saying it doesn't. :) Just stating my opinion on Anti-virus programs, such as AVG, Symantec especially, etc.

Anti-viruses are overrated, pieces of crap. They're all viruses geared towards wiping out their competition so they can run unimpeded.

Nope. What you need to do is :

1) Go to run (or use WINlogo + R)
2) Type "notepad" without the codes.
3) A new notepad txt file will open
4) Paste the code :

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

5) Go to File > Save As
6) Name file fakevirus.exe
7) Enclose it with "All files" and it will work.

Wait, It can't be just .exe First it needs to be compiled into a .exe?!?

Try what i did, it will work fine :)

Here the code :

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

Save the above as :
fakevirus.exe (the extension matters)

Then your antivirus might not be updates :)
It will auto delete the file the time you save it The Code is only the mid part not the hash's #
