Lay off it, people. The script may be useless, but he's learning, right? My first script was a lame PicWin Animation thing, his is a dialog. So what if it has no use to us?

So, instead of being a bunch of useless TROLLS you can try to kindly point him in the right direction. Not everyone can do the more complicated scripts on their first try.

Twango, you're doing fine. Keep it up, but try doing something a bit more complicated. Like, maybe you could try to make a dialog clock or something.

The script does what he wants it to do, and nothing more or less. So technically, the script works. Just because it does nothing for you does not mean it is useless. For example, some beginner to mIRC dialog's could use this as a basic example towards making layouts and using basic dialog options.

Oh, yeah. There is a bracket mismatch like sunslayer said. But, some people might not understand what you mean.

At the end of the code you have two closing brackets:

Your code is just not right. It has no love unlike my script. I shoved so much love in to it that one bite of it will give you a happy feeling for over 9000 years. For atleast 100 of those years you will get a cookie when ever you say mudkipz.

If you feel that isn't better than your script then I will not hold it against you. In my opinion you should reconsider.

I could never make something as advanced as that. I feel I must retire to the mIRC help file to learn about these magnificent methods of scripting.

I think you have come up with the right solution. I think you may need to PM weasel and ask him how to make them. I'm sure it would be better than browsing his script. As for the mIRC help file, chuck it away. With the help of weasel and his scripts you will become the best scripter ever.

There is no rule against posting mediocre snippets as long as they work. There's also no reason to criticize somebody who isn't an expert at development. The idea here is to share what you've learned, gain feedback and learn more. There are no required standards and we'd like to keep it that way to encourage more people to learn. I appreciate the comments from blitzz and Solitude offering suggestions rather than criticism.

That google script is AMAZING. I think that would get a 10/10 from any normal person. Maybe you should include a while loop/goto loop. If statement and a bit of $replace() and also an alias would work well. You could also try to add some colour. Maybe, this may be pushing it, you could add a dialog.

For all of you who are defending Weasel half-way you have no clue what you are talking about... Weasel mistakes Hawkee.com for a place to post ALL of his scripts. It is like he thinks it is his own personal script repo. Also I know that more then half of the people on this site have told Weasel to NOT POST SCRIPTS UNLESS THEY HAVE A LEGIT POINT. So those of you who have called us trolls thats completely off. And as Hawkee said, Weasel listen to everybody advice. For example my advice on this:

1. No point. Only post when there is a legit point.
2. Your brackets are off, to me that not a big deal, cos I hate brackets...

The advice of a big community like Hawkee is a very good and helps good hackers a lot. Weasel most of us our more experienced with coding then yourself, even tho it may not be in mIRC (for example Python or C are some peoples strengths).
