very simple auto ID load it into your remotes and right click in a channel or status window or commands > Auto ID

menu channel,status,menubar {

  Auto ID

  .Set:/set %nick.name $$?="Enter a Nickname:" | set %nick.pass $$?="Enter a Password:"

  .ID $+(‘,$me,’):/ns id %nick.pass

  .clear settings:/unset %nick.name | unset %nick.pass

}

on 1:connect { if ($me = %nick.name) { ns id %nick.pass } }

pwnisher3, rewriting a script without a purpose except to remove two f*cking slashes a napa does not make. Looking at your Auto-ID script and comparing it to the other ones, I can bet $10 that it was ripped. Don't comment on other people's snippets on how good they are and how they can make it better if 1. You don't know what the f*ck you're talking about and 2. You LEECH.
