i've had this cable wireless modem now for over 3 years. every once in a while, when i get a new computer, it takes a while to get it loaded and running. but other than that, it runs fairly well. will occasionally drop signals, but fairly fast. runs 3 desktops that have USB wireless receivers throughout the house - one actually in the garage over 50 yards away and gets a great signal! in addition, can run a couple of laptops simultaneously without problem. thought about upgrading to the SBG901, but the more i read, i'll just stick with this one

Same senario as the rest for me. I do a lot of data entry with my keypad for inventory at work it was great to walk around and just leave the comp and just use the keypad. I also used the mouse for gaming. It worked fine for a short period of time. I only used the both maybe 10 times then I had all kinds of problems it has been very frustrating and I deffinately wouldn't recommend this equipment to anyone else.

I went through 2 of these. It goes offline after awhile & the only way to reset it is to unplug & plug it back in. Next step was to ship the second one to HP for repair. A re-manufactured replacement arrived yesterday minus a bezel & paper tray. Right now HP is not my favorite company. Assuming they courier me a bezel & tray and this still does not work, I am shipping it back at their expense & asking them to refund what I paid for it. I almost gave away my separate fax machine. Now I am keeping it just in case.

Just check though because this doesn't work with some of the boxes supplied by internet providers, because of the coding. Just google it before you buy!

I am sick and tired of trying to set up the wireless network on this printer! I have had this for a while but do not use it as much as I like but every time I try to use it I can not connect through the wireless network. When I can I blow out my internet. Than when I do get it connected right I can not print through Photoshop! I have to transfer to a thumb drive and print from that. I am totaly not happy right now with this printer. And of course I am stuck with it now (waste of my money). I have no time to try to contact tech support I have a life!

This netbook is more trouble than it is worth

Teach them to be more careful, jeez! I'm a teenager with a netbook and it's surviving beautifully! I agree with the post above pretty much completely. Wireless cutting out is 99% of the time a failure on the router's end, not the reciever. For its size, im not suprised it's "tightly constructed" to be entirely honest.

You are apparently computer challenged as the procedure to enter safe mode is the same on all windows XP systems. Holding down the F8 key while posting will bring up the windows options menu and all you have to do is select start in safe mode. This has not changed in years. As for the virus have you heard of Norton Anti-virus (duh!) I am not sure what you expected, the whole purpose of a netbook is light weight and a small footprint, this means plastic. And by the way, after raising 4 kids I can assure you that nothing is teenager proof.

I think it is Great!
We bought ours late July because my school gave us all MacBooks and we wanted to use them with wirless at my house.
I always have connection!
I have had to use my internet on my laptop for hours at a time, and not once has it dropped out.
Its perfect with ultra HIGH SPEED! i give it 5/5 stars. :D

Works with Vista 64 bit

I have followed instructions step-by-step but did not get it worikng on vista64 due to problem with installation of printerports. "New port could not be created" and installations stops. I did get the printer working over LAN (that printerport was installed, i had to select it manually) but the other port (fax) was not installed and I can not use it.
How did you get it installed?
It is a shame having a AIO that can be used to print only....

Horrible support, problems with cropping picture

The problem is not LG. In fact, the problem is not the player at all. It all has to do with the way any film is shot. Many movies are 2.31:1 (sometimes called 2.4:1). This will even happen with some DVD's. In theaters, they use an anamorphic lens to correct all pictures to fill the screen. Until there is a standard of shooting, this will always be common. You enve mentioned you have a 16:9 TV. If you watch ESPN, you may notice that many times they will have bars on either side with the letters ESPN on either side. They are doing this because the picture would actually have black bars on either side if they didn't. The reason is they are using older camera's (less expensive) for shooting these shots. Your pictures are not cropped, but show in different aspect reatio's, as you already have some knowledge of. This is common in the industry at present, but not a problem with your player.

Thank you so much for this review and a recap of your experience. After a failed attempt to install the printer, and a subsequent "successful" attempt that mapped the printer and my main computer to a network named "linksys", I googled and came up with this page. I too have a WRT54G router and never knew there was a button where it says Cisco Systems, or that the installation could go so smoothly. It's truly a shame that anyone should have to endure the directions given on the Brother CD. Thanks for allowing me to regain my sanity.

Excellent, Excellent, EXCELLENT review! I was having the hardest time installing the wireless connection with my printer. I used the "recommended" network cable method which was a joke. I just happened to have the Linksys WRT54G router and your instructions for the two-push method worked the first time. Thank you!!

I purchased the 80gig model back when CC went bankrupt and had a closing out sale for 350 dollars and it is the best 350 i have spent, it plays Blu-Ray's and is one of the best cheapest blu-ray players on the market not to mention it plays Playstation 3 games, a great library of third party games like Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, UFC 2009 and more not to mention great first party exclusives like Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, Infamous +, you also get Wifi, blue tooth connection, web browsing, can purchase or rent full 1080p movies or TV shows
This is by far the ultimate home entertainment machine and is a must own for anyone who owns a HDTV
