Activision Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Special Edition Bundle for Nintendo Wii
A few weeks ago I borrowed Guitar Hero III from a friend, and thought it was the greatest thing since amplifier distortion. I figured I'd get the new Aerosmith edition so that between the two of us, we'd have both games. Well, at least I saved him a few bucks. First off, I will say that the guitar controller is cool, and there's nothing wrong with the game mechanics. The bottom line is that the game just isn't as good as the previous game. Why isn't as good?

1. Fewer songs
2. Less variety of songs
3. All old Aerosmith tunes, nothing from the 90's/Alicia Sylverstone video era to today.
4. Small annoyances that were added to make this game 'different', although it's nearly identical to the previous version.
5. Did I say no variety? I mean, Aerosmith is cool and all, but they could have put more songs on the disk.

So, that's my beef. Maybe I'll save someone a few bucks on here besides the biggest fans of Aerosmith.

Rock Band Special Edition - Wii
Instead of Rock Band, how about Pop Band?
The Wii audience is generally younger and families, how about some tunes for families?

I would much rather have my 9 year old son and 5 year daughter play a game that has Phil Collins songs from Disney movies instead of these harder rock songs.

The platform has been developed, how hard could it be to make sets of songs for other music tastes?

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith: Nintendo Wii
Boring, Boring, Boring. No wonder Aerosmith is not considerd one of the great guitar bands. Plugged it in and went through the entire set list on hard and only had to start over on one song. Extremely easy compared to GH3. GH3 had some great songs both modern and classic. The Aerosmith songs are awful except for a couple and the other songs stink out loud. I am not a huge Aerosmith fan but still figured it would be fun. IT'S NOT!!! I expected more from Guitar Hero. Very dissapointing. Rent it and return it the next day after you have beaten the entire game on expert. I wish I had.

Boom Blox: Nintendo Wii
If you love video games but your wife/husband won't touch them -- this is the game for you. This is the kind of game that both you and your spouse will enjoy playing together. It's also the best party game for the Wii available to date.

The "most helpful" review nails it. Boom Blox is extremely intuitive so is very approachable to even those who've never played a video game before. It's very cute, very fun, and makes excellent use of the unique Wii controllers.

The concept is so simple, it's amazing no one has done it before. (The concept works better with Wii controllers so maybe it couldn't have been done well prior to the Wii.) In a nutshell, it's like playing with children's blocks. Make a tower of blocks then take turns throwing marbles at it to knock it down. Or play Jenga -- see how many blocks you can remove before the structure crumbles. Or shoot it with a water hose. Or blow it up with a bomb. Or swing some blocks like a wrecking ball to try to knock down the big

Rock Band Special Edition - Wii
Like many others who have purchased Rock Band for Wii, I am very disappointed that the Wii version does not offer 'Character Customization' and song downloads. This was a big surprise considering the Wii is a system that takes pride in customization. I'm not saying that the Rock Band for Wii is not fun, because it certainly is. However, if I would have known what I know now in advance, I would not have purchased the game and would have waited for a full featured version to come out.

Rock Band Special Edition - Wii
This game is great fun. For some reason though, harmonix had the nerve to release this product and yesterday announced plans for rock band 2. The gameplay itself is fun, but with no DLC, character customization, or world tour mode, it is really stripped down. With bigger an better things coming in the fall, this is not worth it. As for me I am outraged that harmonix announced rock band 2 right after releasing this game.

Activision Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Special Edition Bundle for Nintendo Wii
To be fair to everyone, I should state that I am approaching this item as a forty-something man who has been familiar with Aerosmith almost from the start of their career. While I am not a devoted Aerosmith fan, I have owned a number of their albums over the years and was happy that they revived their career after so many difficulties. I knew before I bought this game that it would feature mostly Aerosmith with songs from all stages of their time as a band, and of the forty songs in the game, there are twenty-four Aerosmith and three Joe Perry songs. One does not have to idolize Aerosmith to enjoy this game, but it would obviously help.

Here are the problems I found with the game.

1. Although we are supposed to be following the band's career, the songs do not appear in chronological order.

2. When the "star power" functions, the audience does not clap along to the beat of the song. It follows an arbitrary fixed rhythm that does not change from song to song. This glitch adversely affects

Wii Fit Balance Board Mat
This is the exact same kind of yoga mat you could find at Target or Wal-Mart for $10.
The only reason this one costs more is that it is blue and they are marketing it for Wii Fit.
The mat does not have any Wii logos or anything like that, it's just a plain blue mat.

The mat is very thin and does not provide much cushioning. The only people I would suggest this mat for are people with very hard, slippery floors. The mat would be good to keep you from slipping on a slippery floor, but it does not do much else.

The 5-star reviews for this product were clearly made by employees of the company that is selling it. Do not trust them.

Boom Blox: Nintendo Wii
This game is highly addictive- my whole family enjoys playing. We need to get more controllers, in fact, so we can have four people compete!!! I get very impatient when it's not my turn, or when my dad is hogging it!! I love the challenge of getting a gold medal and will play the level again and again until I can knock everything down with 1 ball!

The only downside is that my pre-existing shoulder injury acts up if I throw too hard. It's not necessary to throw as hard as my dad, tho!! :)

Boom Blox: Nintendo Wii
I have enjoyed Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, Endless Ocean, and Wii Sports. I don't know about this one. I just bought it today an I play a good 3 hours. I have mixed feelings about this one. I like games that make you think but this is a strange game. I was very excited by all the good reviews but I didn't have as much fun playing this Bloom Box as I have with other I named above.

Although I would play this game again some other day I don't look forward to play it as much as Mario Kart. It is a slower game that takes time. It gives me the feeling like I am playing Solitare. Listen, if you are thinking about getting this game I suggest you spend the 5 bucks and rent it before buying. I agree with the other guy/gal that said that this game should have been priced at 20 bucks.

I am giving it 4 stars because I do think that this game is very original. It is will made! Also, I believe it has potential as a 2 player game.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Nintendo Wii
40/40 in famitsu magazine ( oldest and most strict game magazine in japan ), a perfect score is so rare that this is the 6th or 8th game that had a perfect score since the magazine establishment , enough said .
( you own to your self to ignore all bad reviews about this game ).

Activision Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Special Edition Bundle for Nintendo Wii
When it comes to music games, they've always shown their stuff very well for the PS3, Playstation 2, and Xbox 360. Unfortunately, where music games are the strengths of other video games systems, that sadly has been the weakness for the Nintendo Wii. After a pair of dissapoiments from Guitar Hero III, where gamers were having trouble hearing the songs they were jamming to in stereo sound, and with the recent release of Rock Band that unfortunately lacks in online gaming and downloading new songs to jam to and those extra tracks are set to be released as seperate game discs for the Wii starting in July. While die hard Guitar Hero fans are anxiously awaiting Guitar Hero IV, they now have a new chance to Walk This Wii-Way.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for the Nintendo Wii, is the latest spin-off in the video game franchise. While the last spin-off, Guitar hero: Rocks The 80's was only available for the Playstation 2, this is the first spin-off available for the Wii. The game features many of Aerosmith's

Alone in the Dark: Nintendo Wii
Since the Wii has been out there has been a small assortment of games that been truly awesome. Since then, I have been looking for a game to play. I picked up Alone in the Dark because the package made the game sound exciting, and since Resident Evil is my favorite game, Alone in the Dark looked like it could satisfy.

No such luck. I felt the story was good, but everything else fell very short of acceptable. FIrst off, the controls are rubbish. Fumbling with the Wiimote will eventually give you an intended result, but you'll have to work for it, relying mostly on chance.

Secondly, death comes easy, and without warning. There were a couple times I was in the middle of playing when the game would go to the load screen, and before I could congratulate my success, I was back to the beginning of the scene. It is especially frustrating when you have to listen to the same dialogue over and over every time you die.

Overall, too much standing around and listening, not enough excitement. If

Nintendo Wii RECHARGABLE BATTERY PACKS (2)
The other reviewer killed this product on the grounds that it didn't come with a means of charging it. It's important to note that this product is intended to be used with one of their charging stations. I don't feel that there are any grounds for a bad review based on that lack of understanding.

Nyko Kama Wireless Nunchuck for Nintendo Wii
I really wanted to like the Kama. I primarily bought it to play the boxing minigame in Wii Fit. The first time I tried it with Wii Fit it was slow and sluggish. The hits seemed to be a fraction of a second behind half the time. Often time the delay was the difference between a perfect hit and a hit, sometimes it was so bad the hit didn't register. I love the concept of a true wireless nunchuck adapter, and the feel and weight of this product felt great to me. But, I can't give anything more than 1 star to a product which simply fails to perform it only function no matter how good it looks or feels. I can't recommend this product at $15 let alone at $35. Wait for the next version or an official product from Nintendo.

Mad Catz Protective Cover for Wii Fit Stepping Board
Like everyone else, I bought this cover to protect my balance board. So far, it's ok, but it tends to bunch up under my feet when I do some of the yoga poses. I do like the soft feel of it better than the hard plastic balance board, but overall I think that I was doing just as well without it.

Alone in the Dark: Nintendo Wii
This game could have been great if it wasn't for the fact that the controls are pretty broken. Its not like how same games for the Wii are, that you just have to get used to them. No, this game was just poorly programmed. The simple task of opening your inventory by motioning the controllers as if you were opening a jacket quickly turned into me doing the motion over and over again until by some miracle it finally decided to work. The camera jumps all over the place for no reason too.

Atari had some great ideas for this game, the first chapter is actually exciting, but in the end its just not worth the frustraition of having to deal with the poor controls and wonky camera. Its ashame too because I really wanted to like this game. I guess I'll just have to get my horror fix from Fatal Frame 4. (hopefully!)

Top Spin 3: Nintendo Wii
I love the tennis that comes with Wii Sports - it's fun and easy. Unfortunately it is not a complete game. You can't play a full set, and don't have a choice of shots (like drop, etc).

I was hoping that TopSpin3 was the answer. Sadly it is not. It is essentially a tennis video game adapted to use the Wii controller, instead of a full Wii game.

For example. No backswing is necessary for backhands. You just swing and it does the work for you. We played this a few minutes last night, then switched back to Wii Sports tennis and had way more fun.

Hopefully Nintendo will build out each of the games that comes with Wii Sports and sell them as fuller, richer individual games.

Top Spin 3: Nintendo Wii
As soon as I got my Wii last October, I was waiting for a good tennis game, since tennis and Wii seemed to be made for each other. Sega Superstars Tennis is just plain garbage, and then I found out the TopSpin3 was coming out for the Wii. The original date was the same day WiiFit was coming out, so they pushed the release of TopSpin3 back a month. I had heard great things about the Wii version of this game from people who had played advanced copies of it.

Finally, I picked it up the day it was released, having reserved a copy of it at a local store. Let's just say it was a different game than what I was expecting.

First, the players. As was mentioned in other reviews, there is NO Player Creator. Also, as far as oldies are concerned, there is NO Bjorn Borg or Monica Seles...Becker is the only blast from the past here (unless you count Henin). There are some made-up players, but here is a list of real players on this game:
MEN
Roger Federer
Tommy Haas
Gael Monfils
David Nabandian
Andy Roddick
Andrew

Rock Band Special Edition - Wii
Our family hasn't played rock band on any other platform than the Wii, so we really don't have anything other platform to compare it to. Now, having said that, we are having a blast with it. However, we wish we would have waited for a few months for the Guitar Hero World Tour - Band Kit to come out and compared the two. We like the music scores better for Guitar Hero than the ones that came with Rock Band. It would also be nice to see if multiple guitars can be used with the new Guitar Hero Band Kit that is coming out, as it doesn't seem like multiple guitars can be used with Rock Band... or at least we haven't figured out a way to do this yet. Don't get me wrong... Rock Band is a lot of fun. But, after seeing the previews for the other, I wish we would have waited a few months.
