Not for me

I thought this would be like old school Mario. It's cute but I just don't get it. The pace is very slow, kind of boring. Going through lots of doors. Not for me, I guess I have a short attention span!

This thing is worthless garbage.

I bought this so-called "classic" controller because I wanted another controller for Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I hate the stupid poorly designed Gamecube controllers, with the L and R buttons that have to be pressed down two inches to have an effect. So I go to the local big box store and pick up a so-called "classic" controller. I open it, and the thing does not plug into the console. It plugs into the Wiimote! So I've paid $20 for no extra controller. And I can't take it back because it's been opened. And the packaging says nothing about plugging it into the Wiimote. The idea that there should three or four separate control schemes for a single console is ridiculous. There was a time when one whole controller came in a box, and all the peritent details about said controller came on the outside of the box.

The fact is that the only reason to get this is to play VC games. No virtual console, dont get this stupid thing. Getting the stupid GameCube controller will at least give  more

Excellent

I agree with other posters that there is a lot to read in this game; however, it's an excellent game and getting through the reading material is fun and has an intriguing storyline. If you're looking for something that reminds you of the old console but adds a new, innovative twist; then this is the game for you.

Stay-at-home mom loves to rock!

I'm a 33 yr old stay-at-home mom of two young kids. I am in mommy mode most of the day, which (at times) can be dull. But I love rock music. I've always imagined myself laying down a killer guitar riff, but I have no idea how to play guitar, much less have time to "rock out" (as my kids put it).

My husband recently went nuts and brought home a Wii. It was cool and all, but we don't have many games. Then the other night he went nuts again and surprised us all with Guitar Hero III. We had so much fun playing, that the following night, he went out and bought another guitar just so we could face off. Ok, so we haven't yet mastered more than the green, red, and yellow notes.. but we're kicking "easy's" butt!

The music is fun, and it's super cool that you can earn money to buy extra songs, outfits, videos, etc.. I love it! And you totally have to link your account to GuitarHero.com, so you can get groupies and compare your stats with your friends'. It's SO fun!

Guitar Hero III : Absolutely Awesome

This game is incredible.
It is easy enough for beginners and yet super challenging for the expert. Even the wife (who has no rhythem whatsoever) is completely hooked!!!

I like that it's "somewhat" wireless

If you want to play SNES or N64 Virtual Console games, a Wii Classic Controller or GameCube controller is mandatory, due to the triggers.

I bought this yesterday, because I wanted to play Super Mario World which I bought today. The controller cost me $20.00 at GameStop.

Before I bought it and took it out of the package, I thought the controller plugged into the Gamecube controller slots. To my surprise, it connects to your wiimote. So I like that it's [i]somewhat[/i] wireless, it's a hell of a lot better than plugging it into the slots. (Which is one reason I'd want this instead of a GameCube controller.)

But the thing works as it should. It is basically the same thing as a Super Nintendo controller, but this has 2 analog sticks. You can use the left one for SNES games, but I'd rather use the arrow pad.

So overall, I like it. I guess I have to recommend buying it, as it is needed to play VC games. (Unless you have GameCube controllers, of course.)

For me a spectacular introduction to the series

I'm someone who had never played Guitar Hero 1 or 2 before I bought Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. I can't really compare it previous versions of the game, nor can I compare it to the other systems' versions of Guitar Hero 3. What I can do is give a viewpoint to what this game is like to someone just playing this series for the first time.

The sound is a big part of what this game is about, and obviously I'm talking about the sound track in large part. Of the incredibly varied list of songs, over 70 in all, I enjoyed most of them. There are a few songs in the bonus track listing that I don't even both to play because the music just isn't good, but overall still far more hits than misses. As a first time Guitar Hero player a big thumbs up for the soundtrack, though there's certainly room to improve in future versions.

Now on to the gameplay. There is certainly a substatial learning curve for new players. Obviously you start with easy mode, which isn't bad as begininer song. Then on medium  more

Almost perfect

Just wish the battery was the same size as the standard Battery Cover, That extra size means your controllers wont fit properly into most of the devices the controller can be put into, IE the Wii Zapper.

Dissapointed to say the least.

This has to be the worse Mario game ever. I love Mario games and this was very dissapointing. First you have to click and read through 10 minutes of back and forth messages. Then you have to read crap like every other minute. The game itself is also dum. I would say it is for a 3 year old but they would not be able to read it. It is really dumb. Sorry I wasted my money on it. On ebay it goes after the boycott.

Helps with fine motor skills

I am a mom who just got the Wii (mainly because I wanted it). I also have a 5 year old son who hates writing in school because he is not very good with his hand fine motor skills. This game builds his confidence and his motor control. It's very silly and fun and he loves sautéing and shaving. Great family game. I rented it to try it out and HAVE to buy this one.

Who would use batteries over this?

If you have a Wii, you can't go without one of these. It's a wiimote charger, no more need for batteries.

I basically have this, but the brand I have is GigaWare (Wasn't on the site.). I believe this plugs into the wall, but mine plugs into my Wii via USB.

This product is absolutely amazing. You can just play Wii all day, then put the controllers in the charger when you go to bed. The next morning, they'll be fully charged.

I got one of these right when I got my Wii. I've never used batteries, and I don't get why people do.

When you get the product, you get special battery covers to put on your wiimotes. So put those on, then click the red Sync button on your Wii. Using a pen or something, push down the button on the cover of the wiimote so that it hits the red button inside (batteries are on the cover, so you cant just push the button inside the wiimote).

Overalll, if you have a Wii, get one of these!

Great Game

I got this game for Christmas, it was my first Wii game (besides Wii Play and Wii Sports).

It cost $90 for the game and the guitar (wireless of course!)

It's a really fun game, even if you don't know how to play guitar. I started off my career on easy, of course, and now I'm starting hard. However, I really suck at doing the fifth finger notes! So all I'm really good at is Medium, and I finally passed Fire and Flames medium.

I really like that on this game, you can face people via wifi. It's really fun, and you can do different types of battles and stuff. Also, I like that the wiimote makes a noise when you mess up instead of the TV, so you know exactly when you're playing wrong, especially with multiplayer.

Overall, it's a great game, I reccomend it.

I've had better...

I bought this game because of the reviews in the Nintendo Power magazine. I played Paper Mario 1 and 2 and they were awesome.

Super Paper Mario (aka Paper Mario 3) is a good game. I enjoyed playing it; however it is not as good as its two predecessors. It's good that Nintendo changed some things about this game; however, they ended up with the same side scrolling platform-like game, besides the brief moments of Mario in the 3D world, which made the only interesting part of the game.

An RPG has to be in 3D, or at least in perspective view to bring a good feel. I like changes for good. Like another review I read about this game; I loved the fact of Mario having a Jet-pack-like device in Super Mario Sunshine. I loved Zelda, Wind Waker, with its funny graphics (but, if someone changes the Zelda style of game and I'll trash my Nintendo right there). This brought new ideas for the game. But going back for 2D as they did in Paper Mario 3 with only few 3D moments for an RPG is somehow disappointing.  more

Best Wii Game!

I absoultely love this game, it's the best game that I have for Wii in my opinion. The 2D »
3D mode is awesome, and I love that you can play as Mario, Bowser, and Peach (if you get far enough.) However, there's definitely too much talking in it! But other than that, it really brings back the fun of the original super mario bros. games (which I have on virtual console
). If you own a Wii, you have to buy this game!

One of the best party games for the Wii!

This game is one of the best party games available for the Wii. The game is specially designed to exploit the Wii motion sensing remotes and no other game does it as good as this one. The story line and the games are totally wacky and hilarious. This is a game for all ages and is a 'must-have' for Wii parties.

Laugh Riot

We bought a Wii back in September, and were looking through some of the "Best of 2007" lists for new games. To my surprise, WarioWare: Smooth Moves made the list. I read up about the game and was intrigued enough to put it on my wishlist. I am by no means a serious gamer - I gravitate toward Nintendo specifically for the reasons hard core gamers avoid it. I like cutesy graphics and silly fun - that to me is what makes a game. WarioWare is excellent. It makes me laugh, between the anime style cut scenes and the silly moves you have to do (quick, saute the veggies, hula hoop, etc). I think the greatest part of the game may be the sheer entertainment value of watching someone ELSE play - my almost 4-year old son stops what he's doing to come sit and watch. On a whim, one evening I handed him the remote and let him try the first level. To my surprise, he made it through with no help!

There's a better option

- I've had the Wii Charge Station for just over 3 months and the cells are not holding a charge well enough to last through an hour of play.
- The placement of the wiimotes in the cradle (as you have read) is finicky. You have to take the back off if you use the Wii Zapper (and probably anything else that the wiimote fits into).
- There's a better solution to the wiimote rechargeable problem. "They" (you know, them) sell rechargeable "AA's" that can charge in 15 minutes and last almost as long as an alkaline "AA" between charges. You can get four plus a quick charger for around the same price as the Wii Charge Station, less if you shop around.

- I picked one of these up in October - I saw a Wii at a local store and jumped on it - I figured I would need some rechargeable batteries since I heard the wiimotes sucked down "AA's" like a Bugatti Veyron sucks down hi-test at full speed (they do). I think I paid $29 for it. It's a good idea, just poorly executed. Get the quick chargers  more

Classic Wii remotes

Very simple, nice, and a must for anyone who owns a Wii, that would like to play the classic games that, you probably grew up with. They came very quickly, and just, a must have.
