Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
I purchased a PS3 roughly 3 months ago. Played a couple of the proprietary games then realized that that I was paying for a system that was too big for my needs. Pretty much all I do is play games on it. I'm not online and I don't have HD. Plus the game selection is limited. So I sold it and picked up this low end 360. Seems like a solid system. The price is right at $200 bucks and it totally meets my needs. I won't be online downloading content, etc. The memory card that comes with the system seems like it will support plenty of saves from multiple games.
But here's the rub. It's really noisy compared to my old PS3. The fan just runs the whole time. I have the console in an open area and it never heats up. I'm wondering if the newer 360's are all like this due to some of the red ring of death issues older versions had? But it's loud. Like I have to turn up the TV a bit to hear over it loud. And when you turn off the console, you notice just how loud it was. I'd still

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
For what it's worth, here are some extra details on this model:
* Has two memory card slots: comes with a memory card that holds well more than enough for most users. You can upgrade later if you need to (I won't.)
* Has full 1080p HDMI output (you can buy the cable separately for $5 online) (you can verify this on xbox.com... the amazon details were wrong at the time of my purchase.)
* Has an ethernet port on the back. We plugged it in with a wire to our router, and it's extremely fast (much faster than iffy wireless.)
* It plays mp3s, wmas, etc. It has media player built in which is amazing. It organizes your music just as you have it, with directories, playlists, etc. Full-screen visuals blew me away!
* It plays downloaded (smile!) ripped movies natively, divx, xvid, etc. It automatically downloads the divx codec through "xbox live."
* You can watch online TV, HD movies, etc through the Live Marketplace service (I only looked at samples, and was impressed... but don't plan on

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
My husband and I bought this to play Dance Revolution and some racing games. However, we ended up making it a media center for our television.

The video quality was so good, we have decided to ditch our hd-dvd player (now obsolete.) It upscales DVD's to 1080p and looks amazing... so we decided there's no reason for buying blu-ray. We even found that it would play our collection of ripped divx and xvid movies. Just to see if it would work, we plugged in a usb stick with some movies on it, then it downloaded an update through "xbox live" (a pain to setup) and we were in business.

So next, we copied our whole collection to a 250 gig external drive and the xbox handles it well (all through usb!) So we also got rid of our Philips DVD Divx player (we were shocked to realize that it's video quality was so much worse, in comparison to the xbox.)

This thing is fun, and was a steal for the price. Oh, did I mention it's very good looking, unlike the Sony (though I'm sure it's a good machine

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
this product has given me hours of entertainment and social growth. With XBOX live you can communacate with others just like you. Also, if friends have XBOX live and the same game (such as halo 3) then you can play together and enjoy every bit of it!!!!Btw this is written from a 14 year olds point of view

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
I think this is a great way to replace your old or broken x box system. My current one got the ring of death. It was the old version. I sold it in parts on Ebay. Console, power brick and wireless rmeote. I got $120 for everything. I kept my Hard drive and the HD cables. I only had to put up $80 more for this arcade version which got me 5 arcade games for FREE!!! I just installed my hard drive and used my old cables and voila!!! I have a premium system.

A lot quieter now, runs cooler and has HDMI output which I am now using. I will sell the other cables on ebay and get some more $$$.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
The arcade model at the the new 199.00 price point is great for most people that want to get into Next Generation Gaming.

If you do not have an HDTV and are not planning on buying TV shows and tons and tons of downloadable games you do not need the hard drive. The component/HDMI cable is only needed if you have an HDTV. If your HDTV has HDMI then you can get one for about 5.00 on monocables.com. The Arcade model comes with everything you need to connect it to any old Tube tv.

Also, the ARCADE model will play all XBOX 360 games. You do not need a hard drive to play all of the games. You will hear many uninformed people tell you otherwise. You will need the Hardrive to play old Xbox games though. This is because the emulation software is stored on it.

NOw, if you want all of the extras you can buy for many games (sometimes they are free) you will have to go online to get these. Then storage may be an issue for you. It has not been for me because I do not want to pay for extra maps/cars/guns

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
The Microsoft Xbox 360 is a great console! It offers a lot of fun and impressive game titles that have awesome graphics and sound quality. The fact that the 360 can play DVD movies without buying a remote, like the original Xbox, gave me a sigh of relief. The HD capabilities this console offers makes it all the more worth buying and the wireless controller is great! Another great thing about the Xbox 360 is the fact that if the hard drive fails you can easily replace it with a new one: if you have the money. But just let me inform you that the 20GB hard drive is a reliable source that can store a lot of memory and mine hasn't failed on me yet anyway. You can even store music from audio CDs in the 20GB hard drive which is a cool thing. The only bad thing about the Xbox 360 Core Arcade Bundle is that it doesn't come with a 20GB hard drive. You have to buy it seperately. The good thing is that it comes with a memory card and a free game. Thats what makes this product less expensive than others.

Vantage USB Microphone - White
I bought this because I did not need the complete instrument set for RockBand. I was worried if the game would recognize the microphone or not. The microphone worked very well and would recommend it to anyone looking for one to purchase to use on RockBand.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit
Rather than get into the back and forth between the various reviewers on here, I wanted to add my quick note about something that was not clear at all to me when I was buying this from Amazon.

This package *includes a rechargeable battery*! I ended up buying one too many rechargeable batteries from Amazon and had to return one because I didn't know this.

Just keep that in mind when you're buying this.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
Cant live without the xBox360, so when my 1st generation xBox360 failed I purchased this archade version and swapped out the HD from my old xBox360 and did a few configuration setting and I was up and running. So far this xBox has been great.

Vantage USB Microphone - White
I am not a singer but this is fun to use with Rock Band. I bought the game without the instruments and use my GH III wireless Les Paul.

This is a corded microphone. The fifteen foot length is plenty for most situations. It can plug directly in your console if you have a free slot or into a USB hub.

If you prefer black you can get the same Logitech Vantage model that's marked for the PS3 and PS2. That's what I did and it works fine with the 360.

The microphone also works on Windows Vista. Just plug it in and the driver will be installed automatically.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
If you've got an Xbox 360, you need controllers. Here's the original, in all it's glory! The white is a match of the white console.

The layout of the buttons on the Xbox 360 is amazing. It's perfect for many of the games that are on the 360. The rumble is effective, and the wireless capacity is wonderful.

The only beef I have, is that I've had two controllers that become loose on the left analog stick, and they began to drag the cursor when not touched. The Xbox Warranty I had from the console replaced them free of charge.

When matched with the rechargable battery pack, they give you lots of gaming time between charges.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit
This is a must have with your 360 and a controller.

You can plug it in via USB to your Xbox 360 and charge the included battery pack while you play your game.

You can also remove your battery pack, and plug the cable directly to your 360 for wired gaming (so your controller won't shut off while you are in the middle of that hired driver Forza race.

This charges via any USB port on your 360, your computer, your cable box, or your dog (if he has included USB hub).

I recommend buying one of these, then buying the Quick Charge Kit. Then you'll have 2 battery packs, the quick charge dock, and a USB charge cable.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
This is the older generation unit, very noisy fan. It was sold mixed with the newer generation quieter units to fool customers. Shame on microsoft! You can't make sure to get a new generation unit, don't buy it.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack
the 360 white battery pack is elegant and useful. It's rare that you'll find both qualities in a product.

The battery life of these packs can give you many hours of uninterrupted gaming on your Xbox 360.

With the play and charge kit, you can play while it charges. With the Quick Charge station, you can charge a battery in about two hours.

The white model here looks great with any of the controllers.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
I bought this controller for my husband and he loves it. I used it a few times and I found it very convenient to be able to move around and not worry about disconnecting the controller! It works just as well as a wire one but with the convenience of no wires and as far as the batteries go, he's still on the same pair it came with and he's had for about 3 weeks now! I think that great for regular batteries!! This was a great buy.....

Nyko Intercooler 360 for Xbox 360
I've had the Intercooler for a couple of months now, and while the system is in use, it seems to be performing just fine, pulling air off of the Xbox 360 with gusto, as indicated by the fairly loud fan noise emanating from the rear of the unit.
The problem comes when turning off the Xbox. Roughly 75% of the time, the Intercooler won't turn off at the same time. I thought that the fan would keep running in much the way that your car's fans will run after the engine is off until a lower temperature is reached, but sadly this is not the case. Each time, I have had to reach behind the system and manually unplug the cord from the back of the Intercooler. This isn't the most convenient of arrangements, even with the back of my 360 being readily accessible.
I don't know that I would get this again if I knew about this in advance.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
There isn't much to say about a controller. It works. It's easy to use. If you can afford it, buy at least two because it's really nice not to have the cord getting in the way. We have one wireless plus the regular one that came with the system, and I prefer the wireless one.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
I finally decided to buy an XBOX 360 after almost a year having checked and re-checked reviews and the like.I was really in the middle of getting a Ps3 or the xbox 360 than low and behold a more reasonable price the arcade bundle Xbox 360 came out after a few moments I decided to go ahead and purchase the arcade bundle and have been impressed and astonished at how much the xbox truly has.I have yet to get the 20gb hard drive to go online yet but in a few months I will. The system was easily put together and plugged in ready to play it found the wireless controller just as easily on the first try.I have decided though to buy the microsoft play&charge kit as to save myself a great deal of money on batteries.I would also advise you to get the intercooler just in case you might not need it but better safe than sorry in-case the console overheats. This being all said I'm not dismissing the ps3 altogether and I'll just get this either next year or sooner so what I'm saying to you is both systems

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
I had an original 360 release from Nov 2005, it worked great. but I have a new TV that only accepts 1080p input through the HDMI; which why why i got this.

I just used my old hard drive, and the graphics are great. The only problem I had was with the surround sound. I use optical, because my reciever doesnt do 1080p pass through. I was just going to use the old Componenet Head Cord for audio, then HDMI for video; but to my surprise, you cant use them both at the same time because the heading is too big and covers the HDMI port. The solution was to buy a seperate peice (xbox 360 hdmi a/v cable, except i didnt use the extra hdmi cable) because it has a smaller head, and can fit both the VGA and HDMI cords at the same time.

Other than that, its quieter, and the graphics are outstanding! I didnt use the arcade games, but I imagine its a good starter xbox for people that dont plan on doing a lot of downloading.

If I had to reccommend for a more serios gamer though, spend the extra 70 bucks
