Olympus Stylus Tough-8000 12 MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Black)
Let me start by saying that I'm an enthusiast, and love taking pictures although I have much to learn about photgraphy. That being said, I've actually owned a couple of these Stylus Tough 8000 series cameras. The main selling point of this camera has got to be its extreme toughness. You can take it practically anywhere under almost any conditions. That's why I have one of these cameras. Its great to take on a hike, when you don't want to carry a bigger DSLR, but still want reasonably good pictures. Its rugged, surviving the occasional drop that would break most every other camera.

Probably my favorite feature is the Panaramic mode which allows you to take wonderfully easy panaramic shots. The camera can even stitch them together for you on the fly. Which is really cool when you're on top of a mountain somewhere and want to make sure that the pic turned out the way that you wanted it to.

If you're going to be outdoors and are looking for a light weight point and shoot that

Olympus Stylus 6000 10MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Yellow)

Bought this to replace my 3rd Kodak camera..This is a well built camera, love the color in yellow. Camera is pretty easy to use, great pictures..I leave mine on Auto setting...then switch it over to P mode to turn the flash off. Make sure you do not leave the Marco on...this will give you a poor picture...only use this for close-ups. ( some of the other reviews mention this...READ THE MANUAL) I'm glad I bought this and I got a good deal on it...it was on sale with free shipping and I had $15 off in Reward points.

h2o Audio Amphibx Waterproof Arm Band (Large) - Black

I have only had this item a few days so I cannot comment on durability except to say that it looks well built. As far as function goes, it is a great way to protect an Ipod touch or Iphone from the elements while working out. It is sold as being waterproof for swimming but I have not used it for that purpose.

The opening that you slide your device through latches shut. I have not had an issue with it coming unlatched. I wish it was a little easier to get my phone or Ipod inside but maybe it well get easier with practice. The latching door is where you plug in your head phones as it contains the other end of a pass through cable. The male end is plugged into your device before you put it into the case. Make sure you do not get the cable caught in the door or it will not be waterproof. There is a warning about this on the instruction sheet.

Once the cable and device are inside you can plug your headphones into the port on the outside of the door and wrap any excess cable

Celestron 52247 Ultima 65ED 45 Degree Spotting Scope
+ 0 likes
I have owned a variety of Celestron products over the years and also a variety of spotting scopes from the $50 Barskas all the way up to $2100 Zeiss. Celestron continues to produce superb optical instruments for a fraction of the price of their performance level. I have owned the Celestron Regal F-ED in both 65 and 80 mm versions and the inexpensive non-ED Celestron Ultima 65. All were impressive. The Celestron Ultima ED 65 is equally so. For $300 you can get an image that is practically free from color fringing at all magnifications. Yes, some refocusing (non-parfocal) is required as you move through the zoom range but it is minimal. Image quality is excellent though at any price... - Reasonably bright image - Very sharp - low chromatic aberration - excellent edge sharpness - excellent color representation - good contrast Physically.... - the scope is lightweight - all parts seem to be well put together - focusing knob functions very smoothly and precisely Negatives you ask? Well....

This, so far, is one of my favorite cameras. I bought it for vacation and it took great pics both inside and outside, in light and in dark. I love the camera. It's also easy to use and its almost impossible to take a bad picture with it.

Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

Bought camera for trip to Jamaica. OMG what a pleasent surprise. Pictures are crisp, color is vivid, can't say enough good things. It's great to just rinse off the sand or salt water. Even dropped it once. Underwater pictures are great, would compare my pictures with a high end camera anytime. Video both underwater and topside are super. While on trip people all around were asking what kind of camera I had. I believe there are at least 8-10 new D10 owners now. The camera is simple to operate, even my wife who is a point and shoot type person used it with ease. If you want a camera you can take to the beach, pool or any adverse condition this camera is great. I would recommend buying a 16GB chip which would give about 2hrs+video and more pictures than you can take in a day.

Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

I've had Canon cameras for years so I couldn't wait to try this camera underwater. Living in Costa Rica, I am always doing extreme action sports and thanks to this camera I have been able to capture great pictures. I did a 2 week research on waterproof cameras before purchasing my D10. Overall there are about 14 different styles out there, some are lighter yet you can only go about 4ft. The D10 provides up to 33ft, so you can take it scuba diving, snorkeling or surfing. All digital cameras should be waterproof because you want a camera that you can take anywhere without worrying about spills, dirt, dust, freeze, or even dropping it (shock proof up to 4ft). Is not like you are taking pictures in baby showers and home parties all the time. The 12MP are great, the image quality underwater is beyond comparison. It also has nice features such as auto focus, face detection, and blink detection. Overall, other that its bulky size, I give it a 10+ AJ briacodotcom

Pentax Optio WS80 10MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 5x Internal Optical Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Black and Orange)

Since I just started using the camera, I have not yet utilized it to its fullest capacity, but so far I am very pleased. I like the fact that the camera is water proof so I do not have to worry about using it around water. Also, I like the feature that the zoom lens is encased so the lens does not constantly extend then compact every time you turn it on/off. The 5X optical lens is very sharp and even the digital zoom is quite sharp. Although the manual is thicker than the camera, it comes with a quick guide to let you start taking pictures quickly. I can always read the manual on an as-need basis if necessary. I have owned a Pentax camera before (Optio S sub-compact)and really liked it also. However, this camera is much easier to use and produces very sharp photos. For a little over $200, very well worth the price! JC

Pentax 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera With 2.7" LCD And Shake Reduction - Body Only
+ 0 likes
Fantastic Camera. I already had lenses that fit Pentax so it was a very inexpensive upgrade for me. Battery life is great. Uses AA batteries so in a pinch any drugstore will do. I use rechargable Batteries and have yet to run out of juice. Easy enough to use in auto settings with great results and the ability to get way more advanced. Even if you pick up the inexpensive kit lense to go with this camera you will not be dissappointed. I give 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. If your thinking about jumping from P&S camera to DSLR for the money you can't go wrong.

It an amazing camera if you are taking underwater pictures. I lived in Hawaii for 2 years and it was amazing to have with me to take pictures while I was snorkling. Also its tuff so you don't have to worry about dropping it or stepping on it.

Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

I bought this camera because I live in Palau where there is beautiful snorkeling. I wanted a camera that did well on land as well as underwater, and I didn't want to deal with an underwater housing. I looked at a lot of other cameras before deciding that this one seemed worth the price. I have not been disappointed. Some reviewers complained that it was a little slow and that it didn't shoot in RAW. It's important to remember that this is a point and shoot. If you are wanting the quality of an SLR for underwater, be prepared to spend a LOT more money for an SLR housing. For a point and shoot, this is an excellent camera, both underwater and on land. My husband and I both have Canon SLRs and were very impressed with the clarity of our underwater shots with this camera. It is a little bulkier than I was wanting, but it also feels very sturdy. I really feel that I can take it anywhere without worrying about it. It has fallen off a table, and passed the shock proof test. There

Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Digital Camcorder and 8 MP Digital Camera (Blue)
I purchased one of these cameras 3 weeks ahead in preparation for my son's two year birthday party. While I did not get it through Amazon (my mistake, as it was far cheaper here), it promptly arrived within two days. Upon opening and reading the manual first, I proceeded to plug in the battery carefully following the instructions. According to the manual, I should see the charger's red light go out when the battery is fully charged. Several hours later the red light was still on (it should have gone out no more than 2 hours after an initial charge) so I gave it some more time. After 5 hours, I decided to let the thing charge overnight. I wake up and the light is STILL on, so I called the vendor from where I purchased it from. They said that this was a warranty issue and they are simply a 3rd party vendor but asked me if I either wanted to return it, or suggested that I call Sanyo. I said most likely the battery or charger is defective so I called Sanyo's Warranty Department and after

Great looking camera that allows you to shoot even in low-light settings. The beautiful red color makes it look sleek for more formal occasions, yet it can take a beating. I have dropped mine several times, but the w80 comes out unscathed.

I bought this camera when I moved to Florida for when I go snorkeling/scuba diving for the first time. I was extremely happy with the picture and video quality of the camera for a while but unfortunately I did not get to use it underwater untill I was one month over the warantee. I brought the camera on my 7 day cruise to the Eastern Carribean where I would be snorkeling for the first time but I ended up being horribly dissappointed. I throughly read the directions regarding the use of the underwater feature, followed it step by step and used all the care in the world and the camera completely broke on me. I only had the camera underwater for 5 minutes and since I was snorkeling the camera was only down no further then 2 feet. I was taking pictures until I saw the LCD screen turned black, I tried turning it on and off.. no resposne, the LED light started flashing and the lens cover wouldn't close. The power doesn't work on the camera at all and I lost all my pictures from my cruise. I called

Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

Prior to buying this product I had purchased the Olympus waterproof and had 1 fail within a week, then with my 2nd realized how poor the picture quality was,.,, having owned a canon before I knew of the superb picture quality and ease of use so I am very glad that the same quality was maintained in this waterproof product! Picture quality is great, awesome zoom, and this camera is very durable! I have taken it diving and it works great underwater and the pics turn out great too! I love the feature of being able to easily move the wrist strap for convenience! On another note: I have had 2 issues, once I was having a "memory card error" message intermittently when I would power the camera on, but removing the card and reinserting it would fix the problem for a picture or 2.. this problem only occurred a few times in 1 day and not again since! Another time I was having a boot failure message, which again only happened a couple times!

Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

A well equipped, experience and talented photographer in our hiking group researched and selected the D 10 after many in our group experience camera mishaps on the trail due to rough handling and wet weather. Following many weeks of satisfactory performance and exceptional photos by our friend, we purchased the D 10. We find it ideal for not only spectacular mountainscapes, but for kayaking and family photos as well. Based on our experience, two more people in our ten-person hiking group are planning to purchase it soon. Maybe the D 10 will eventually get a sweep. Canon should make the D 10 in more colors so the happy hikers can tell them apart. It is the perfect camera for a snowball fight.

Pentax Optio WS80 10MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 5x Internal Optical Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Black and Orange)

The most critical part of the camera, its picture quality, was not up to my expectations. The pictures that I took up close (a few feet away) came out pretty well. However, when I tried to take pictures of a group of people from about 10 feet away, nothing I did could get them to come out clear. They were all blurry to some degree. I had seen a similar review to this on a different waterproof camera model from Pentax, but I was hoping this one would be different. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case in my experience, so I'm sending it back.

I read all the 6000 tough reviews before purchasing this camera and the biggest complaint I saw was for night time photos. I must say, READ THE DIRECTIONS AND USE THE RIGHT SETTINGS. This camera takes night photos just fine as long as you use the right settings and allow the slower shutter to do it's work.

That said, I love this camera. It takes fabulous underwater photos (I've had it in a creek, a sink, a fish tank, and a lake). I'm very impressed with the macro function though I wish the IS was a little more.. stable? I've carted it around with me every day since I got it and there are no signs of scratches or lens slowdowns. The battery life is fantastic.

As far as videos, my Canon powershot took higher quality videos with better sound. So if you're looking to make short videos, this is not the camera for you.
