i purchased this TV at Fry's Electronics in Houston, Texas the day that it came out. First off, I already own a Westinghouse 42 inch LCD, a 32 inch Sharp Aquos, and another Samsung 32 inch that I have in my daughters room. I thought that I was seeing the very best that I could until I purchased this television. I really and truly didn't go into Frys' to buy anything, yet when I saw the price I thought why not, I wanted a larger screen for the den anyway, and if I don't like it I can always return it. I want to say that I wish I could return the other 3 sets that I have. The colors are absolutely beautiful right out of the box. I could not believe how much that I had been missing when watching movies and Bluray. I am a member of Bluray.com, AVSFORUM, HIDEF, Sound and Vision Etc. I have researched LCD, LED, PLasma, DLP, so on and so forth. My family has an entourage of Samsung products. This 720P set blows them away. I can discern the difference between the 1080 and 720 at about 3 feet. I

This set replaces a 50" Sony LCD projection HDTV that fell victim to the blue dots of death. It's hooked up to a Motorola HD DVR set top box through HDMI. It's been an adjustment going down to 42" from 50" but it's getting easier. The picture on HD channels is excellent and standard def channels look a lot better than they did on the Sony. The set itself is beautiful and looks great in our living room. The sound is good and there's no buzzing. The only issues that I have noticed with this TV are the screw holes used for attaching the stand and room brightness. There's no excuse for the poor job Samsung did with not properly threading the ten holes on the stand. As for the brightness of the room, this TV performs better in darker rooms. We've got heavy blinds that block out a lot of light so it's not that big of a deal for us. If you can't control the lighting in the room that you plan on using this set in, then you should probably look at another set. I gave the whole 1080p

I've owned this for 3 days now, and wanted to wait until I fully tested it to write a review. After seeing how it performs with videogames, blu-ray movies and basic cable, I feel I know the television enough to offer my thoughts. Picture quality: Incredible. Blacks are as deep as the bezel surrounding the TV. Colors are bold - everything you'd expect from a top of the line plasma. I own a 62" DLP, a 26" LCD, a 50" panasonic 720p plasma and this plasma, and the plasmas are the only sets that really "pop." This model is head and shoulders above even the 50" 3-year-old model I own. Video game play: There's a game mode, which bumps up the brightness and sharpness. It's great for PS3 games. I've played Demon's Souls and Wolfenstein on it so far, and both look amazing. The system touts "1080 lines of moving picture resolution" to help with motion blur. Honestly, I never felt plasmas had an issue with motion blur to begin with, so I'm not sure how much of a difference this feature

I've had this TV up for almost a week now, and thought I would post a review to help some folks out. First off let me say my TV has absolutely no buzz whatsoever; i think Samsung was the victim of the internet here where people sit with their TV muted and listen for the buzz until they drive themselves crazy. Even with my TV muted sitting 6-8 feet away i hear nothing out of the ordinary. The other hot topic with these TVs seems to be burn in/image retention. My kids have watched several hours of Nick Jr. with their stupid bright orange logo fixated on the screen. I've watched ESPN with the ticker at the bottom. Also we've left the TV paused for 15 minutes or so a few times. I've also played several hours of Final Fantasy XIII (which looks absolutely ridiculous by the way). I have not seen even the slightest hint of a ghost or anything on the screen whatsoever, so if you buy this TV do yourself a favor and don't worry about image retention, just enjoy your awesome TV! The last issue

I was so excited when I got this tv. I saved up for it for a while and bought it. Once it arrived, I was so happy to set it up and then once I turned it on, I noticed a white line going across the screen around 3/4ths up. It made me so mad. So now I have to deal with the whole return process with this. Luckily amazon is giving me a 53 dollar credit on top of this tv for me to get a new one. So my advice on this tv is good luck! Everything else was fine with the TV though and it looks amazingly cool.

This TV has lived up to everything I'd hoped. It has a suppurb picture with dark blacks. The picture is one of the best out there. That being said, there aren't any software "extras" on the tv. There are no yahoo widgets or streaming netflix or anything like that. What you do get is a very tunable picture that looks great showing whatever you put on it. If you have a TiVo, PS3 or Xbox 360, then you don't need the software addons anyway. Also, It's one of few TVs of this size and quality that have a swivel base. Bottom line... I'm very satisfied with this set.

I am truly impressed with this TV. I have been researching LCD and Plasmas for a little while and found this to be the best HDTV for the price. I had a chance to check it out at a local retailer beforehand and compared to other TVs in the store this one completely stood out. Picture was MUCH better than the 1080 models which were more than twice the price. The Sony next to it showed people with grey suits while this one had deep black and vibrant color. The specs (2million:1 contrast, 600hz) blow away anything I could find in this range and the picture is simply fantastic. Plus you can't beat this price! I ordered this TV on a Tuesday night, received it on Thursday and the guy brought it to my door(4th floor walkup in NYC). I guess Beach Camera should receive the credit there. Set it up and the TV was able to find a bunch of HD channels and channels I didn't have before, so that's a big plus. I have to say, like the other review, installing the stand was a pain in the ass. I don't think

CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63" DISPLAYS UP TO 165LBS BLACK
My review focuses on how I mounted a 58" Panasonic to a custom cabinet without wall studs. However, I have included adjustments for mounting on wall studs. I have a Panasonic TC-P58V10 - 58" which weighs 110 lbs. The TV is mounted to a custom entertainment center that has 3/4" cabinet grade plywood back. The supplied hardware fasteners were not of any use to me (specifically the lag bolts) since the back wall of the entertainment center doesn't have a wall stud to mount. The quality of the remaining hardware wasn't up to my standards, so I bought new fasteners. Pros: The wall mount looks nice, construction is solid, no TV sag, can't beat the price. I paid $89. This would easily run over $200 in your typical box stores. Cons: Instructions are mediocre. I'd echo Brent Neimann Raleigh NC's (thanks for your review!)comment that illustrations would be helpful. Hardware fasteners are okay, but I don't trust the quality. Spend $25 and buy good fasteners. Tilt mechanism is weak. It's difficult

The previous reviewer is obviously inexperienced in LCD and Plasma TV's. The picture is excellent. I could not be happier. The bezel is really cool and the anti-glare screen does exactly what is supposed to do. I don't think you will find a better TV for the price.

I have had this TV for about a month now and the picture quality is awesome. I previously had a big rear projection TV and this Samsung picture blows the old TV away! I saw this plasma hanging on the wall at Best Buy next to an LCD that was almost $2,000 and the picture quality on the Plasma beat the LCD. I also have the TV facing a wall of windows and so far I have not had any problems with glare. As with most flat panels the sound quality is lacking somewhat but I also purchased a Samsung sound bar and subwoofer so that really beefed up the sound!

I own this TV, and love it. Mine still has low hours on it. However, Panasonic has designed the software in most of their 2008 and 2009 model plasma TV's to change the black level over time. This means that the ultra-deep black levels you saw when you first got it will go away after about 1000 to 1500 hours of use, rendering the blacks to look more like dark grey. Panasonic has admitted to this, CNet has verified the dramatic change in testing, and now a class action lawsuit has just been filed against Panasonic. I would advise everyone to stay away from Panasonic plasmas. Panasonic has indicated they will not be fixing this problem, as they don't see it as a problem. That's the mark of a really bad company.

I came from a realy good Sony XBR that had a lot of good quality years and still works, but I wasaware that the digital age has been here for some time and it was time to join the rest ofhe world. My research said Panasonic was a great value and this model had what I wanted. I have had Panasonic products before and was very satisfied. This unit had the 600 Hz and 1080p with the inputs I wanted. It was the perfect size for the space I had available. I now have all the products I needed to get up to date which allows me to play my old VHS tapes, DVD's and my new Blu-ray Discs. My new Onkyo Receiver automatically set up the sound environment for Home Theater, but allowed me to adjust for my personal sound taste. It also automatically starts up and senses the device I want to listen to. I am finally where I want to be for the next several years.

Did about 3+ months of research on the 2009 models and this was/is CNET's #2 rated big screen TV, just under the Samsung LED. The plasma picture is incredible and the blacks are true blacks. This replaced a 7 year old 65" Mitsubishi platinum projection that also had outstanding quality. It is connected to a 7.1 Sony surround with all Bose and Kenwood 500w sub-woofer so the tinny TV sound is a non-issue. The internet stuff is basically a toy, not worth the hype...maybe software upgrades down the line will make it something actually worth the while. Overall, happy with the investment!

I was a little worried trying to suspend a 46" hi-definition TV over my fireplace. I just KNEW that the wall mount would sag and make everything look terrible. Well, I was wrong. After I put the Hercules mount on the wall, I cautiously started pulling my body-weight up on the mount [I weigh 230 pounds]. I ended up doing a quick pull-up work-out on the Hercules without ANY sag. I mounted my TV [less than 70 pounds] and I swear I heard the mount say, "Is that all you got?" Nice product - GREAT price.

This is a very nice plasma for the money. The picture is very nice out of the box. It has good sound, but most likely you will run it through surround sound. I would like it if there were a couple more adjustment points to the picture. It will be a nice picture either way. That is not a deal breaker.
Disregard that other review about rising black levels. Yes, it was a problem with last years plasmas, but these are new panels. Also these tvs have not been out long enough to see if its true this year too. You most likely wouldnt notice anyhow with the naked eye.
I will post back with a picture of the screen after I finish the 100hr break-in.

This is my first plasma TV so I cannot compare, but I am finding there is a inherent image quality problem. Using the "Standard" viewing mode, I can see a lot of fuzz on the screen, especially if I look close. This is not an issue with the video source, because I can see the same fuzz when looking at the TV's on-screen menus. When I turn on "Cinema" mode the picture improves. Overall, the picture becomes less fuzzy when sharpness is decreased, but that also lowers its clarity and makes it blurry. I compared this TV with my Samsung LCD, and the picture is definitely clearer and sharper.

Bought this for the Super Bowl February 2010 and everyone had a blast, some thought it was a LCD I haven't had it calibrated. This is the lowest price this has been.

I tried out both the Samsung PN42B450 plasma and Panasonic P42X1 plasma. I set both the 42X1 and 42B450 side-by-side in our living room and did a comparison test, making tweaks to both units, as needed. Both TV's looked good but the clear advantage was with the Samsung in overall color fidelity, contrast, and fine detail. The wealth of picture controls on the Samsung menu makes it very easy to calibrate the black level, gamma, white balance, etc. -adjustments that cannot be made on the Panasonic user menu. The Samsung could be easily adjusted to match the black level of the Panasonic, as well. As a matter of fact, after running several calibration test patterns for contrast and brightness, I found that the Panasonic could not display the dark gray patterns on my test disc no matter how much I adjusted the brightness and contrast adjustments. The Samsung had no such problem.
Overall, I came to appreciate that Samsung allows the user so many different adjustments to suit individual

I absolutely loved this TV when I got it. Set up was easy and I had the Olympics on and looking great! On day number 2, I was watching a blue ray movie and the TV just turned itself off. It died. I tried to get it to reset while my son searched the internet for troubleshooting tips. A red light on the TV would blink 7 times, wait, and then blink 7 more times repeatedly. My son said, "Here it is dad- I found an article called 'Panasonic's 7 blinking red lights of death!' and the symptoms were exact. (I thought this was hysterical at the time...) I've waited over 2 weeks for a repairman to come and fix it, but the part is backordered. Apparently that part is in demand for some reason. (I wonder why???) Even so- I LOVED this set when it was working and hope to have my problem resolved and my TV nightmare ended soon. Meanwhile I have a Panasonic surround system, a Panasonic BluRay player, and a Linksys Media Center expander sitting in the floor waiting to hook up to a working PANASONIC TV!!!
