FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I would give this no stars if I could. I have had nothing but problems with this television and Samsung in general. I am on my 3rd round of replacement parts with this. It started shutting itself off and on by itself 3 days after I bought it. The repair lasted about 6 months, then the problem just recently started again. I just had the plasma panel replaced...everything except for the housing. And it is still screwed up. Now I have a 4"x10" vertical line with a laser-like line up the middle of it. Yeesh, this thing sucks! I would say I just had a bad apple, but I also bought the Hp-4252 for my home and 4 for work. In just over a year, they all had problems with laser lines and black sections. Those were just out of warranty of course. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG PLASMA DISPLAYS. Buy any other brand.

FP-T5884 58" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC Tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I've been researching this TV for about 4 months now and I was torn between this 58" plasma and the 52" lcd Samsung 71 series. I play a lot of video games and burn was a major concern, so I was leaning towards the lcd. But I ultimately decided to go with the 58" because face it, bigger is better. Let me tell you that I couldn't have been more right. This TV is amazing. The picture is nothing short of spectacular. This is my 3rd HDTV. My last one was a Hitachi CRT. I didn't think the picture would improve too much over the Hitachi, but boy was I wrong. Setup was easy as cake. I set all of the settings to my liking and then watched the Suns-Warriors game..... it looked like I could've reached out and touched Shaq. I've also been playing Call of Duty 4 on my XBox 360 for hours straight and guess what.... NO BURN IN!! If you're considering getting this TV, trust me, it's well worth it. The only cons are that the sound could be a little better, and the TV does get hot. But the manual says that

FWD-42PV1VS Specialty High Altitude Model 42 Plasma Display
This product was the biggest disappointment of all of my online purchases! The product description states the following: Virtual Surround. This would leave any sane individual (who would think to ask in the first place?), that a TV that you paid ovef $1200 for would come with sound. Surprise, this one does not!

Speakers if you want them (image watching TV with the mute button on ALL THE TIME!!!) are available at an additional cost.

HP-T5064 50" High-Definition Plasma Television with Integrated ATSC Tuner, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface
After looking and searching for 2 years for Flat Panel HDTV's, my wife and I decided on the Samsung HPT5064. The television has surpassed all of our expectations. The other thing that was amazing is the service from Amazon. When we ordered this TV, it was offered with free shipping. We ordered the TV on Friday morning, it was delivered to my house Tuesday afternoon--- WOW!!
Back to the TV......
Some of the reviewers have wrote about certain issues that they have with this product, we have not experienced any problems at all. I would recommend this television to anyone. The design allows us to use this , as the centerpiece in our living room. It has more than enough Inputs. The menu system is very easy to use and configure. Viewing from 9 foot and back, the picture quality is phenomenal. If you are close, 3 feet or closer, you can see a difference between other resolutions (but who watches tv that close??). I watch alot of basketball, the clarity that this brings to my viewing, makes it

HP-T5064 50" High-Definition Plasma Television with Integrated ATSC Tuner, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface
I have had this television around two weeks. GREAT picture in HD. Decent analog picture. (Why by an HDTV if youre not gonna watch mostly HD content - doesnt make much sense to me) Sound is so-so. However, when one purchases a television like this, expecting great sound quality should never be one's top priority. Most people hook up receivers and speakers for the sound. If possible, that's the best option if your looking for better audio. Also, get good cables. Best site I have found for audio/video/speaker cable is Monoprice.com - great, quality cables for great prices. You will never buy Monster again after you visit this site. Cables are something that I would generally buy online. Seems to me all the big stores have a ridiculous mark-up on their cables.
Anyway, there IS image retention on this TV, I don't think it is burn-in, however, because it has always left after watching other content or programs, or running one (or both) of the screen burn protection modes (manual

HP-T5064 50" High-Definition Plasma Television with Integrated ATSC Tuner, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface
I have owned the HP-T064 for 3 weeks now and I am satisfied with the overall quality of picture and sound. One clear strength is getting a fairly decent picture on regular, non-HD signal using either the cable or satellite dish. Play around with the picture controls to your hearts content.

One word of caution as expressed by a previous reviewer- in the initial period, watch for burn-in. Even leaving the TV on mute (small checked box on the left lower corner of screen) for a short time was leading to a residual image. It cleared after running the white screen feature for an hour. Also having black bars on the sides of the picture does the same. The warranty does not cover burn-in !!!

A minor quibble is with the remote which does not accept the codes for dish network receiver and has no manual search feature.

Samsung FP-T5084 - 50 Widescreen 1080p Plasma HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC Tuner - 15000:1 Contrast Ratio
bought this TV with the Peerless wall mount package deal- both were great purchases. The television is mounted on a wall above a fireplace, and installation and hook-up was very easy. The TV comes on a stand, which can be easily disconnected for wall mounting.

Had this set for a couple of weeks before getting the HD digital cable box- don't expect this set to perform up to its standards by inputting a pour signal. The HD channels look great, and DVD's are even better (Denon DVD player, with upconvert feature to 1080i- getting 1080p soon). Picture settings can be found all over the internet, but they obviously depend on your room, viewing angle and distance, etc. The 'dynamic' setting works great for sports, but I use 'standard' for most other programs.

The TV itself looks really good with the sleek black outline. The speakers are on the side of the unit, and for my small townhome living room, they work fine. I use a Denon home theater system for most movie viewings, but the standard

Samsung FP-T5084 - 50 Widescreen 1080p Plasma HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC Tuner - 15000:1 Contrast Ratio
I'm no expert on TVs, but I feel I owe this to others on the fence between plasma and LCD. I have been on the fence now for about 4 months and read many reviews, reports, and visual comparisons on differences between the two. After much turmoil between them, I have decided on the Samsung 5084. This plasma is replacing my 36" JVC family room TV.

How I made my choice was:
First off, you can't go wrong with either choice. LCD's seem to cost much more in the 50" or larger size. In my case, the 52" Sharp LCD I was looking at cost $600 more then I paid for my plasma. It seems there is not much of a difference in picture quality. The sales people in Best Buy and Circuit City want to sell you the LCDs for some reason. I'm not saying you shouldn't listen to them, but, they couldn't give me a good enough reason to swing me. They tell you go for the LCD because of the dull finish to reduce light glare. I didn't see much glare on the Samsung to sway me. Even under the bright lights

HP-T5064 50" High-Definition Plasma Television with Integrated ATSC Tuner, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface
I wanted to wait a few months after purchasing this plasma to give a clear, unbias review of this product. I often times see people in the excitement of getting a new product happy as can be and give great reviews w/o knowing the performance of the product being described. With that said, I can tell you that "burn-in" and "image retention" is definitely an issue with this plasma TV. "Ghosting" or "Ghost images" will be a given, period. Contrary to what Samsung says, a break-in period is mandatory on this TV to lessen the effects, even though they will still occur if you're not careful. I broke-in this plasma religiously for 300 hours (no black bars, no scrollings/tickers, no still images whatsoever- basically full screen DVDs only) and still seem to have a problem with image retention. I even went so far as to buy a breakin DVD which repeats 5 color spectrum continuously to help the break-in period (not 100, not 200, but 300 hours of break-in). I still worry, even with over 300

Samsung FP-T5084 - 50 Widescreen 1080p Plasma HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC Tuner - 15000:1 Contrast Ratio
Short report on my new 5084. Will update as I go along.

1 week.

Overall impression. This TV set rocks. Quality = very happy. Price = Amazon for life. Delivery = Eagle truck came with one man. He apologized profusely for not having 2 men and offered to come later. I offered to help and he was very grateful (thats what I wished for anyway hah). Truck with liftgate, very careful person. Took all the cardboard away. I gave him a tip, he wasn't gona take it "Its me who should give you a a tip for your help". Very satisfied. Delivered in 3 days.

1. PQ is second to none. Colors are amazing. DVDs via Oppo DV-981HD (purchased on Amazon as well) look breathtaking. SD channels are not as bad as some people reporting, even tho I didn't buy this set for SD. HDTV is OMG.

2. No humming or any kind of noise coming from this TV whatsoever. I spent 20 min trying to hear something, even putting my ear to it and... nothing.

3. I am beginning to think that all the talk about break-in 200 hrs, no Dynamic

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This tv was delivered about 10 days after I ordered and white glove service was great. A week later it started powering off and on by itself. I called Samsung, and was refered to a technician. He told me he would bring the parts that could be causing the problem. On the day of the appointment he was late, brought no parts or tools, and stayed under 10 minutes. He tried to do a software update even though the tv was new, repeated that about 8 times, then said "I don't have what I need to fix this, we'll call next week" and left. He never called. White glove picked it up today, 48 hours after I called them. Amazon is giving me a full refund since I never want a Samsung product again. Don't be fooled by the initial quality of this tv. It's like a shiny used car that dies 10 minutes after you drive it off the lot, and Samsung acted like a used car salesman. On the upside Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced and I'll certainly buy my next tv from them. Just

Samsung FP-T5084 - 50 Widescreen 1080p Plasma HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC Tuner - 15000:1 Contrast Ratio
I don't know why I am writing this, as others with more technical knowledge than me have already done better. I guess I am just excited to have it and I want to share. A couple of points.

1) This is my first wide screen/flat panel/digital/HDTV, so maybe I am naive. But from the minute I turned it on, it has blown me away. Same goes for every member of my family and every friend who has seen it. On a 1080p signal, the picture is unbelievable. The picture is bright and clear from almost any viewing angle and -- despite the fact that the screen is very shiny -- it is very resistant to glare, much more so than my old 27" tube TV. The problem (if there is one) is, the acuity of the visual detail makes it difficult to actually pay attention to either movies or sports. Instead of watching the action, I find myself trying to read the time off a spectators' watch in the stands (which you can almost do), or look at the details in the background of a film scene. I guess I'll get used to

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
Bought this TV from amazon during Christmas' 07. Had it for about a month now. All I can say is that I am completely satisfy with the TV and the service from Amazon. The PQ of this TV is amazing as others had said. I haven't calibrated the set but I used the default movie mode for watching movie in the dark. I wallmounted this TV using Sanus Visionmount VMPL3-B. Make sure you hit center on 3 studs because this TV is very heavy (~ 150 lbs w/o stand). It took 3 people to mount this. If you are using the low-profile mount of the VMPL3, make sure you connect all the cables before mounting it. The clearance between the wall and the back of the TV once mounted is only 1.5 inch. You can see my setup in the customer image.

FP-T5884 58" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC Tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I purchased my Samsung FPT5884 plasma from Amazon after Thanksgiving on Monday, November 26. Amazon was out of stock, and my Samsung was shipped by Vanns. I expected to receive White Glove delivery since I purchased through Amazon, but I discovered that Vanns does not provide White Glove delivery like Amazon. This was initially very concerning to me, but all turned out well. I was called by the delivery company on Thursday to set up a delivery time for Monday, December 3 -- 7 days after I placed my order! The delivery company arrived when they said they would and delivered the huge box to my front door. My adult son helped me uncrate the TV and place it on the entertainment center. Beware, it does take two very strong people to handle this monster (or White Glove delivery)!

Within minutes I hooked a HDMI cable to my HDTV cable box, and the monster screen lit up in rich, glorious color. The picture definition and detail were absolutely remarkable. Setup instructions were very easy

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I've owned this set now for about a month now. I purchased it to retire an older HDTV rear-projection set that I'd had for about eight years. I am extremely, extremely picky about televisions. The first few weeks I was somewhat disappointed in this set. Apparently plasmas don't have the best black levels -- and this INCLUDES the much-lauded Pioneers. Plasma and LCD just aren't up to CRT levels yet. After accepting this, I can safely say that the Samsung has one of the best pictures I've seen in a television. The colors are absolutely brilliant! The built-in ATSC tuner pulls in every DTV station in my area (much better than my previous 2002-era Samsung ATSC tuner). Watching 1080p/24 material via my Toshiba HD-A20 HD-DVD player is stunning. It's a fabulous TV and is absolutely HUGE!

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This TV is bright and has fantastic picture quality. It is very easy to setup. My XBOX360, Dish HD, and an upconverting DVD player all looked very nice. I was thrilled with my Christmas purchase until it failed yesterday (yes, less than 3 weeks) with a dark thin horizontal line (about 4mm thick) making a permanent appearance about 2/3rds of the way down. Samsung doesn't cover such a defect claiming it is screen burn-in!!. There is no signal I could put into the system that burns that thin a line (horizontally) at that position on the TV. But Samsung is sticking to its guns saying that is screen burn-in and that it is not covered.

The Samsung customer rep told me that 3 of 5 customers calling with similar problems are Amazon buyers. Given my high satisfaction with other stuff from Amazon, I don't think Amazon is somehow buying seconds. The rep wouldn't assign any reason to explain his statistics despite me pressing him.

I requested a return to Amazon. The process is that someone

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I was a bit apprehensive ordering a tv of this size & price on Amazon.com...however it was difficult not to consider the cost savings over local chain stores and other "less reliable" internet providers. I received the tv within a week of ordering it...the cardboard box it came packaged in was incredible - complete with operable tabs to allow removal of the box lid permitting full inspection of the TV without cutting or ripping anything open! The delivery men opened the box for me noting none of the styrafoam securing the corners of the tv was cracked indicating the box was not dropped. The point of being long winded about the delivery is hopefully obvious - this is what I was most concerned about with ordering on the internet. Now to the heart of the matter - the TV is awesome...without question...15,000:1 contrast ratio says it all. A side and rear USB port with a slide-show program built-in to the TV came in handy for our family Christmas gathering...I loaded over 300 digital family

Samsung FP-T5084 - 50 Widescreen 1080p Plasma HDTV w/ ATSC/NTSC Tuner - 15000:1 Contrast Ratio
Before I made this purchase Samsung FPT5084 50" 1080p Plasma HDTV I spent many hours researching flat panel displays. I concluded that each technology has it's strengths and weaknesses, therefore, there is no 'perfect' display.

The key is to choose the display that is right for YOU in terms of performance, features and price. My main program material is movies on DVD and sports. Thus, my goal was to minimize the distractions that interfere with these programs - namely 'judder' and other motion artifacts like 'smearing'. Both of these problems, it seems, are of greater concern with LCD flat panels than plasma displays.

STRENGTHS:
The Samsung FPT5084 displays HD movies with effortless accuracy - the faint 'chatter' in slowly panned scenes exactly matches that which is present in the theater. While some may prefer the motion-smoothing features of 120Hz LCD displays, in my opinion those features detract from great cinematography. The ability of this Samsung plasma display to match

FP-T5884 58" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC Tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This is a fantastic plasma display TV at a very competitive price from Samsung. The picture quality is absolutely amazing and the price is very attractive. Amazon white glove delivery was great and they did a great job delivering it in-home in a very reasonable amount of time. I bought this TV early Nov after shopping around for several Plasma Displays(from Panasonic and Samsung) and LCD displays(from Sony and Samsung). I couldn't be happier with buying this TV.
