Samsung 63-inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV-Samsung 63? widescreen plasma HDTV PN63A650
Amazing is the only way to describe it. For the longest time I thought LCD was the way to go. But decided to take a serious look at plasma tvs, primarily because of inherent motion lag and color reproduction issues with lcd. Fancy technology such as 120 Hz still does not mask the problem to a trained eye. Once I decided to go with Plasma, I did a comparision between Pansonic, Pioneer & Samsung. Did a side by side comparison at Best Buy & found the Samsung to have the best picture quality.

Samsung 63-inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV-Samsung 63? widescreen plasma HDTV PN63A650
I bought this tv three weeks ago, CEVA delivered within 7 days of ordering, great delivery, they delivered within 24 hours of scanning the item into my local CEVA hub. They brounght the TV in, took it out of the box, set it on my stand and made sure it worked. I signed for it and they were off within 25 minutes.

The TV is truly amazing. I can honestly say that I have never seen a better picture. No issues whatsoever with this set so far. HD sports are unbelievable and even SD cable is very nice. TV gets a little warm to the touch but certainly not hot. The remote wheel takes a little getting use to but is not bad IMO. The sound on the set is surprisingly better than I expected. I will be hooking up 7.1 but haven't purchased the receiver yet.

If you are in the market for a TV this one will not let you down. I was a little disappointed that as of Sept 1 Amazon will no longer give you the price reduction when they mark something down from the time you order to the time it's delivered. Two

Samsung 63-inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV-Samsung 63? widescreen plasma HDTV PN63A650
The picture and viewing angle are amazing. I almost bought the PN58A650 (the 58" screen) and decided to spend the extra money on the 63". I'm glad I did because I did not want to be staring at the 58" for the next few years always wondering what the 63" would look like. If you're hesitant about buying it online, I went to Consumer Reports and buyers are just as happy buying online verses a store. The delivery was great. I got a tracking # and the white glove service was nice. They brought it in, took it out of the box and set it on the furniture and I hooked up the HDMI cable and they turned it on to verify that the picture was ok and off they went. The touch of color is pretty subtle and looks nice. I was concerned about the glare/reflections on the glass but the anti-glare technology they have is fine. I have two windows behind me and I was able to see them with my old 61" projection but I can't see them on this.

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
First, the product itself:
The FP-T6374 is a 63" 1080p plasma display panel from Samsung. At this size, the 2 million plus pixels provided by the 1080p resolution can truly be appreciated. Color reproduction is extraordinary, the factory provided "Movie" mode and "Warm 1" color tone provide cinema style color reproduction without too much "monkey"-ing with the settings, but if you do wish to "monkey" with the settings, Samsung has included a plethora of picture and color settings to allow anyone to tweak the display settings to their satisfaction. The set even accepts 1080p/24hz input (though how it then displays it is a matter up for debate.) The blacks may not be as deeps as the Pioneer Kuro but, in my estimation, they are deeper than it's Panasonic competitor. Regardless, the blacks are true enough to please the most discriminating eye in all but the darkest rooms. Aesthetically, the high gloss black bezel is very attractive and fitting for a display of this price point. Unfortunately,

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I purchased this TV and had it delivered on a Thursday. I was so excited when it arrived... I unpacked it, tested it out and everything looked great! By Saturday it was on the wall and looking good. I will say the picture was fantastic. I hooked up the PS3 and watched some BD material and could not have been happier. That is until I noticed a weird glitch. Sometimes when I turned it on, it would cycle power once or twice (You can hear the power relay clicking on then off) Well now it is Tuesday, and that is all the TV will do when you attempt to turn it on. It will continuously cycle between on and off. This only happened occasionally at first. By today, Tuesday, you never get a picture. It basically does not work. Today I called Samsung, and was told that repair personnel will call me within one to two days. I think that sucks when I just paid $4000+ for TV. IT IS ONLY 5 DAYS OLD!! I am without a TV until then. What happens if this happens again once I am out of warranty?

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I would give this no stars if I could. I have had nothing but problems with this television and Samsung in general. I am on my 3rd round of replacement parts with this. It started shutting itself off and on by itself 3 days after I bought it. The repair lasted about 6 months, then the problem just recently started again. I just had the plasma panel replaced...everything except for the housing. And it is still screwed up. Now I have a 4"x10" vertical line with a laser-like line up the middle of it. Yeesh, this thing sucks! I would say I just had a bad apple, but I also bought the Hp-4252 for my home and 4 for work. In just over a year, they all had problems with laser lines and black sections. Those were just out of warranty of course. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG PLASMA DISPLAYS. Buy any other brand.

Omnimount Wishbone Universal Combo Black Plasma Flat TV Wall Mount
People are right...the instructions leave a lot to be desired but if you think it through as you are going then there really isn't that much to worry about.

Here are the experiences I came across:
1. Make sure you removed the screws for the original tv stand if you have it on (which is most likely seeing you are installing the wall mount). My stand screw were right under the beams for the frame used to hang the tv on the mount.

2. The tv is slightly off center now as the studs were not where they needed to be...but I don't even notice it after a day. Also the mount allows for a 1" slide (left or right) from where the studs are.

3. I read that this mount was only for 16" studs but the model I got, which I would suspect would be the same as everyone elses, could mount anything between 16" and 18"...although the template provided for the drill holes is only for 16" mounts.

4. The mount is super sturdy and holds our 52" LCD TV easily.

5. I bought the 'like new' item and some

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This tv was delivered about 10 days after I ordered and white glove service was great. A week later it started powering off and on by itself. I called Samsung, and was refered to a technician. He told me he would bring the parts that could be causing the problem. On the day of the appointment he was late, brought no parts or tools, and stayed under 10 minutes. He tried to do a software update even though the tv was new, repeated that about 8 times, then said "I don't have what I need to fix this, we'll call next week" and left. He never called. White glove picked it up today, 48 hours after I called them. Amazon is giving me a full refund since I never want a Samsung product again. Don't be fooled by the initial quality of this tv. It's like a shiny used car that dies 10 minutes after you drive it off the lot, and Samsung acted like a used car salesman. On the upside Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced and I'll certainly buy my next tv from them. Just

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
Bought this TV from amazon during Christmas' 07. Had it for about a month now. All I can say is that I am completely satisfy with the TV and the service from Amazon. The PQ of this TV is amazing as others had said. I haven't calibrated the set but I used the default movie mode for watching movie in the dark. I wallmounted this TV using Sanus Visionmount VMPL3-B. Make sure you hit center on 3 studs because this TV is very heavy (~ 150 lbs w/o stand). It took 3 people to mount this. If you are using the low-profile mount of the VMPL3, make sure you connect all the cables before mounting it. The clearance between the wall and the back of the TV once mounted is only 1.5 inch. You can see my setup in the customer image.

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I've owned this set now for about a month now. I purchased it to retire an older HDTV rear-projection set that I'd had for about eight years. I am extremely, extremely picky about televisions. The first few weeks I was somewhat disappointed in this set. Apparently plasmas don't have the best black levels -- and this INCLUDES the much-lauded Pioneers. Plasma and LCD just aren't up to CRT levels yet. After accepting this, I can safely say that the Samsung has one of the best pictures I've seen in a television. The colors are absolutely brilliant! The built-in ATSC tuner pulls in every DTV station in my area (much better than my previous 2002-era Samsung ATSC tuner). Watching 1080p/24 material via my Toshiba HD-A20 HD-DVD player is stunning. It's a fabulous TV and is absolutely HUGE!

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This TV is bright and has fantastic picture quality. It is very easy to setup. My XBOX360, Dish HD, and an upconverting DVD player all looked very nice. I was thrilled with my Christmas purchase until it failed yesterday (yes, less than 3 weeks) with a dark thin horizontal line (about 4mm thick) making a permanent appearance about 2/3rds of the way down. Samsung doesn't cover such a defect claiming it is screen burn-in!!. There is no signal I could put into the system that burns that thin a line (horizontally) at that position on the TV. But Samsung is sticking to its guns saying that is screen burn-in and that it is not covered.

The Samsung customer rep told me that 3 of 5 customers calling with similar problems are Amazon buyers. Given my high satisfaction with other stuff from Amazon, I don't think Amazon is somehow buying seconds. The rep wouldn't assign any reason to explain his statistics despite me pressing him.

I requested a return to Amazon. The process is that someone

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
I was a bit apprehensive ordering a tv of this size & price on Amazon.com...however it was difficult not to consider the cost savings over local chain stores and other "less reliable" internet providers. I received the tv within a week of ordering it...the cardboard box it came packaged in was incredible - complete with operable tabs to allow removal of the box lid permitting full inspection of the TV without cutting or ripping anything open! The delivery men opened the box for me noting none of the styrafoam securing the corners of the tv was cracked indicating the box was not dropped. The point of being long winded about the delivery is hopefully obvious - this is what I was most concerned about with ordering on the internet. Now to the heart of the matter - the TV is awesome...without question...15,000:1 contrast ratio says it all. A side and rear USB port with a slide-show program built-in to the TV came in handy for our family Christmas gathering...I loaded over 300 digital family

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
Now, this is a TV.

63" still commands the respect that 50" plasma screens used to get.

We spent weeks shopping around the local big box retailers and the price on Amazon is almost $1,500 less than the lowest price we found -- plus free shipping and no sales tax! You cannot beat it.

This TV totally PWNS the set that it replaces -- a rear-projection travesty from Sony. Just make sure that you have enough room -- and if you are mounting this on a wall -- get it professionally installed -- no "hercules hooks" for this bad boy!

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
This is a fantastic set - it's huge so be sure you've got a room large enough to accomodate it. Too small a room and you get vertigo! Delivery was fast and setup was included in the cost. That's a good thing because this set is about 200 pounds and it takes two people to put it into place.

Another thing to watch for is the size as far as a stand or wall mounting - you will need to do some homework as most standard mounts and stands are for smaler sets. We spent more time searching for the right stand than the we did the TV itself.

Pricing locally we saved close to $2,000 compared to Best Buy and Fry's... they wouldn't even touch it on a price match basis.

The picture is crisp and sharp - the only real problems are the internal speakers facing the rear (vs) the front - but they still are outstanding... and it's not an issue as most people buying a set like this are going to channel sound through a home theater setup.

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
We've had this TV for about 3 weeks, and are absolutely thrilled with the purchase. This is our second Samsung set (the other one LCD), and we are consistently impressed with the quality and stunning picture.

We did a lot of homework on this purchase, and a few points are pretty compelling:

1) Price/Performance: Many people steered us toward the Pioneer Kuro, as the "pros" consistently rate this very high. The Kuro has an extra HDMI port and light sensing, but costs at least $1000 more and gives you 3" less screen. (Not even going to discuss Pioneer 65" sets, because then you are nearly double the cost of this TV, which is just silly.) The Kuro's a nice set, but in our opinion, the Samsung has a brighter, more saturated color than the Kuro, and many regular people I have spoken with agree on that. Amazon's deal is $1000-1500 better than anywhere else.

2) Do you watch sports, news channels, or are you planning on using a video game system? The Samsung has a feature that shifts

Omnimount Wishbone Universal Combo Black Plasma Flat TV Wall Mount
Incredibly engineered product...instructions written by 9th graders who have never held a tool. They should honestly just put cartoon pictures in their manual, no words. Horrible website if you are trying to find info for spacer and bolting for newer lcd/plasma models not included in the list. I should have never opened the manual. If you know what you're doing, no problems. I give the mount a 5 out 5 and the instruction manual a 1 out of 5. They do include an excellent wall template for mounting. This was used for a 58" plasma. I love the product.

Omnimount Wishbone Universal Combo Black Plasma Flat TV Wall Mount
This mount looks great, feels great, is solid and well-constructed, but it had a fatal flaw which prevented me from using it:

It can only be mounted directly between two wall studs that are 16" on center.

For those of you who have older construction with studs 18" or 20" (or even 14") on center, you are out of luck.

For those of you who have the perfect place to put your television, but it isn't between the studs, you are out of luck.

I also couldn't return the product to the seller because it wasn't damaged, it just didn't fit.

FPT6374 63" 1080p High-Definition Plasma Television - NTSC/ATSC tuner with Clear-QAM, HDMI, PC & DVI Interface, USB, SRS TruSurround XT
Simply put, this is an amazing television. The contrast and clarity is unsurpassed, and I spent quite a while researching and comparing before I purchased. At the retail stores, the cheapest I could find this for was right at $7,000, plus an additional $900 for a 3-year service plan. Through Amazon, I paid $2,000 less for the television and only $600 for a 4-year service plan. The delivery was smooth and they were incredibly courteous and professional. I'm not a huge technophile, and this television was amazingly simple to set up. Straight out of the box, it has user-friendly prompts to guide you through the process. I've now connected my digital DVR box, a surround sound system and a PlayStation 3, and each time I've been incredibly impressed with the simplicity and ease of connectivity. The side ports make it simple to expand the television's capabilities.

The picture quality is superb. I'm using HDMI connections and it blows my mind that I've ever watched television any other
