This is an excellent buy for the money and purpose of our home computer. There are no internal speakers so be prepared to buy those separately, but we got the Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for around $12 and they work great for our use. Have always had good experiences with Acer brands.

I bought this monitor to replace a 15 inch Dell Trinitron that started popping and smoking one afternoon last month. I take a lot of digital pictures in my work and for pleasure. Color fidelity isn't a life or death issue but I appreciated how well the Trinitron did its job.
So, I had some apprehension about buying this monitor but the price made the decision easy. I haven't seen a better deal anywhere. I was very pleased to find that the color and resolution of this monitor satisfied me completely. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this monitor for our backup computer which is an old Gateway PC running Ubuntu (free computer operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux). The old CRT monitor was over 10 years old and was fading into history not to mention it was huge, hot and took a lot of energy.
This computer is mainly used to check e-mails, surf the web etc. and I use it to check how photos I re size on the big iMac look on a smaller screen. So I thought this little 17" should be just the ticket.
Setup:
I unpacked it plugged it in and bang it was up and running!! No need to do anything all the settings were perfect right out of the box.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for an easy to setup 17" LCD monitor and want bang for the buck this is it!!!
I highly recommend.

I love this monitor! My previous monitor was a big bulky monitor that took up all my desk area. This monitor takes up hardly any area plus it is so light weight! It is also an HP. In my opinion, you cannot beat HP for anything! They have outstanding products & Customer Service that no one can beat!

The CINTIQ 21UX works great for drawing and painting in Photoshop and Illustrator. Using the pen instead of my mouse has really increased my productivity. When I am not drawing on it, I use it as my main monitor on a dual monitor setup.
I have it mounted on an lcd arm (7500-1000HY model from Innovative - lcdarmsdotcom). I wasn't sure which model to choose so I gave them a call for advice. The "HY" stands for hydraulic which was not listed on the website at the time. Since I will be resting my arms and applying some pressure on the monitor, I was recommended the hydraulic cylinder which will be more steady/stable than the gas cylinder(identical in appearance to HY) that is listed on the website as SKU:7500.
I received the lcd arm yesterday(Tuesday - ordered last Tuesday)and assembled it easily using the Grommet Hole FLEXmount method and followed instructions on page 57 of the CINTIQ 21UX manual and I was good to go.
I now have a nice, ergonomic setup for my work/play station--No more

Good picture quality. Great space saver. I only wish I would have gone for the next size up. Also, this monitor does not have an adjustable height. So, I have mine placed on a riser to get it at the appropriate viewing height. It was a good buy.

Pros: excellent picture, fast refresh, compact size, very little heat generation, wide viewing angles, looks nice.
Cons: have run it near constantly for a month playing games and surfing with no problems yet so it may have none :)

Acer AL1716FB 17" LCD Monitor
This is a very nice monitor, just perfect for use where space is at a premium. The display is crisp and the colors accurate. For my second computer, this was just perfect. It would be great for a first computer, too, but I have more space around my main computer.

Received the monitor just a few days after ordering, so very fast shipping, and it arrived in great condition. I'm using this as my 2nd monitor in a dual-monitor setup. I plugged it in, set it as the 2nd monitor, adjusted the resolution, and it worked perfectly. Picture is crisp, and I'm pleased with it. Mostly, though, I was pleased with the price and the free shipping. I shopped around for a while, and couldn't beat this deal.

Ok case, but I've had better. Everytime I use it, I'm afraid my computer will get damaged because of how thin this case is. Some thicker protective pads inside would've been better.

I do a ton of text work and this HP monitor is like getting a new pair of glasses -- amazing. And the 17-inch wide-screen is plenty large. Speakers aren't much, but I didn't expect them to be. Thanks to the monitor's small foot print (about 1/10th that of my old CRT), I have reclaimed my desk-top area. Ah, all that space!

I was surprised to not find a single review anywhere for the Digital Spectrum MV-1700. I took a chance on one anyway since it looked like the picture frame with the best combination of features I was looking for. It has a 4x3 format instead of 16x9, 512MB internal memory (it should have 1GB for the price) and a 1280x1024 display.
I purchased mine with the black frame through Amazon (BuyNow Incorporated) on 6/24 and it arrived on 6/25! I wish everything traveled that fast! The packing was not the best, the Digital Spectrum box was sliding around lose in the shipping box it came in and I was a little concerned after reading about how others had arrived broken. When I opened the box it looked like a returned item. The power cord zip lock bag was open and the cord half out. The rest of the packing looked like it had been opened and then boxed up again. This was bothersome but everything was fine and the digital frame worked as advertised.

Targus has a winner on its hands with this very simple design. I can't carry any of the active fan cooling designs on the road with me because they're so big, and they don't seem to have that big an effect anyway. Just a little air underneath the laptop is all I can really do to help make the computer run a little cooler.
I just wish these things were cheaper. That could certainly happen if there were more competitors with similar designs, but somehow, no viable competition yet.
If you really wanted to save money, just buy two door stops or round door knob stoppers, and just use them to prop up the upper corners of the laptop. The idea is the same, but I'm paying $30 for a more elegant way to lift up the laptop from the surface.

the flat, glass-like surface is highly reflective. i think it's best to have a subdued light area to work in; daylight from windows behind particularly bad.

Samsung SyncMaster 743BX 17" LCD Monitor
I have had my Samsung SyncMaster 743 17" LCD monitor for three weeks. The monitor is great. I like the adjustable movements and the price. The monitor picture is also very good. I would play games using my old monitor and could not see the clues or picture very well. This monitor allows me to see all the cludes and/or pictures excellent. It was very easy to install, even for an "old lady". I highly recommend this monitor to anyone that needs or wants an adjustable monitor with a good picture at a reasonable price.

I've owned this monitor for almost two years and never thought to do a review of it. What brought doing a review to mind was that the monitor developed a problem. In fact, the problem is very similar to what another reviewer encountered, which led to him giving the unit a low rating.
I give this unit 5 stars not only for its inherent quality, but for Samsung's extraordinary warranty and service.
Imagine my surprise when I was reminded this unit carries a three year warranty. And getting service is no hassle: just fill in a form on Samsung's web site and they ship a replacement unit free to the nearest UPS store. If you don't have one nearby, you pay shipping for the return of your unit. Not a bad deal at all in my case, considering that I've happily used the unit for 18 months before encountering a problem.
The monitor delivers a very sharp image with vibrant color. I adjusted in once when I set it up and have had no need to readjust it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the HP ultra bright technology when designing websites because you aren't looking at the same colors that anyone not on an HP is getting, but marvelous technology, great price, love the Anti-glare screen (anyone with "headaches" GET THIS PRODUCT, not enough has been made of that yet as a part of just his model). The 17' size is more than plenty and the lack of "piano finish" really helps to prevent the dust collection of the other new monitors out there. Durable, reliable, and ANTI GLARE, no mirror screen on this one WITH more than crystal clear clarity for all types of users. The one to beat! BTW, as always, I love to purchase and shop at Amazon.com.

I bought this laptop and it works great, the only thing was when I bought it they sent the wrong power cable with it. A quick sign on and talk via e-mail with customer service and I had a replacement within a week. Again, love my laptop and quick customer service response.

I already own a midnight blue one of which I am 100% satisfied. When I saw this refurbished model available, I thought that the price was very economical and I bought it for a friend.
