One can not overestimate the WOW factor of the Samsung LN52A750 52-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color. In the LN52A750 Samsung has given the world brilliant picture quality and stunning style in a unit that anyone would be proud to make the centerpiece of their living room or entertainment palace.
Right out of the box the picture is impressive, although the factory settings are too bright and overly saturated. This is to be expected, however, as virtually all manufacturers tune their sets to stand out in store displays. After fine-tuning my set using Digital Video Essentials: Optimize Your Home Entertainment System (NTSC Component), I now have a virtually perfect picture. It was a tedious and time-consuming process, however, so my recommendation to the patience-impaired would be to hire someone locally to do the work using the latest test equipment. For most people it would be well worth the cost (est. $50 -$75) after shelling out a couple of G's for a state-of-the-art LCD

Great LCD picture. Would rank it the same as the offerings from Sony. However my set had some clouding issues along with a warped panel! The set was bowed left to right and top to bottom. If your looking at it head on, no problem. If you view it from the side as in my home, you can notice it. Im in the process of having it replaced. lastly the sound is barely acceptable. You need to turn the surround sound on and crank the bass all the way up to barely get by. The Panasonic plasmas sound much better out of the box. if your doing a surround system its not a problem. The picture is as good as it gets for high def. The extreams between black and white is amazing! Motion is as good if not better than all the current high def panels. It is VERY thin but you need to understand that even though its only 1.9 inches wide, the imputs are NOT recessed so you need to get the set about 2 more inches away from the wall either on a bracket or stand. i also have a 1080p plasma and to be

The TV was fine for a couple of days but then yesterday night, I started noticing patches of light on various parts of the display that looked like 'clouds'. It was very noticeable in low-light situations which unfortunately I am in most of the time when watching tv. In the day-time, this issue is less noticeable. I've since contacted both Amazon and Samsung to try to resolve this problem and Samsung is going to send a tech out to take a look at the set to see if they can fix the issue first. It seems like this issue is more of a problem on the 650/750 series from what I researched and this is the reason why I opted to spend more money for the 850 but it's disappointing to have to go through the hassle of either getting this fixed or trying to return the tv, all within a narrow time period. Check CNET-Samsung forums for other users that have the clouding issue.

This set is amazing. I had a 61" rear projection that had a good picture, but It wasn't anywhere near as good as this. The picture quality is incredible. When scenes involve people in a room for instance it's like looking in on them through a window every detail is bright, vivid, and crisp. And that is with stand definition. I record some old black & White shows and they have never looked so good. High definition is nothing short of spectacular. This set can be set to deliver a 60 hrtz or 120 hrtz refresh. The 60 is very good, but the 120 takes it to the next level. The higher refresh rate gives near Blue Ray quality to scenes where there is distant details in the background. These details become visible with the higher refresh rate. I'm seeing absolutely no artifacts in the picture at all.
The viewing angles are where I see a big difference from what I'm used to. The picture quality shows little or no change no matter how far to the side you get. I've laid on the floor directly below

After 4 months of shopping for an HDTV, this set is the one! It has the best picture and features of any other tv i have seen. I went to Best Buy, Circuit City, and ABC Warehouse here in Michigan to check out every tv i could. At first, i was considering the Sony Z series, but a 46 inch was the largest size for that model. Then i was looking at the Panasonic plasmas, but the picture just did'nt seem to be as clear as the Samsung tv's. So after all the trips to the stores, and all the price searching on the net, buying this set from Amazon was the answer. I bought a Belkin HDMI cable, and a Sanus wall mount for it as well. Everything is perfect! The set looks very classy on my wall, and gives the entire family room a modern look. The one thing about this purchase i was not totally happy with was the shipping. The white glove delivery is overrated as fellow reviewers have mentioned. Only 1 guy showed up from ( Pilot ) shipping, not 2, that i was expecting. When it was time to open the box,

I've been agonizing over an HDTV purchase for months. My 32" 480p Samsung CRT just wasn't doing it for me anymore. It was time to delve into HD now that it has been around for awhile with major tech innovations (1080p, 120hz, and more). I feel as though it will be many years before a *significant* new HD technology comes along. Here is a list of what I've been agonizing over (and probably you too) and why I made the decision for the 750.
1. LNxxa750 vs LNxxa650
I spent some time drooling over the LN52a650 until I came across LN52a750. I searched and searched to see if there was a performance difference between the two sets. I finally found someone with some knowledge and indeed the 750's use a different (more powerful) internal processor than the a650's. For how incredibly small the price difference is between the 650 and 750 I'm surprised people still shop the 650. Not to mention the regal-looking bezel on the 750, the woofer for those without a home theater system, and some other minor

I did all the research, read all the reviews, found the best price here on Amazon and pulled the trigger. Delivery was on time and flawless. As reported by everyone else, the picture quality is nothing short of phenomenal. One thing to remember is for DVD movies to turn off the "auto motion" setting otherwise it looks like you are watching videotape recordings. I watched Iron Man and the characters looked unnatural, then I switched off the auto motion and it looked the way a movie should.
Bottom line, there is a reason everyone is handing out 5 stars. They don't regret this purchase and neither will you.

I purchased this TV from Amazon just over a month ago. At first I was hesitant buying from Amazon in case I needed to return for any reason, I knew it would be a hassle (reshipping the item and all). So I went to my local Best Buy and Circuit City where the TV was $700 more and asked if they could match it (it would be easier to return it there if need be). Best Buy would only come down to $100 over the Amazon price, and then you'd have to add the 10.25% Chicago tax, which is another couple hundred dollars (Amazon had free shipping on this item). Also, Amazon dropped the price $127 AFTER I ordered the TV and BEFORE it had been delivered. After calling their great support line they were kind enough to reimburse me the $127. I have absolutely no complaints in ordering from Amazon.
I did a lot of research using several websites and publications (CNET.com, Consumer Reports, etc.) and this TV always ranked in the top for 10 for 50" and larger LCD TV's. Then I went to the stores in

I did lots of research, two weeks worth..it all came down to LG vs Samsung Ln52A650 but let me tell you my gut feeling was to try the 52LG60, it's all that is advertize..Quality picture, set up and options. Lots of people complain about the sound systems on large LCD but that why people buy Home Theater Systems. I will definetely recomend, you won't regret it.

I replaced a Vizio 42 inch LCD with this one. After 2 days of playing with it I can provide a few facts that may help the TV shopper with making a better decision.
Power consumption: I was unable to find the power rating for this set before it was delivered. Neither the specs on Amazon.com, nor the user manual that I downloaded from the Samsung web site, nor their support stuff were willing or able to give me this information. The response from Samsung support was, literally: "For the power supply and Power Consumption, refer to the label attached to the product."
This made me a bit nervous at first. I measured the actual wattage today and it turns out that my concerns about unreasonable stand-by power consumption were unfounded. The stand-by power was not even detected by my simple wattmeter (i.e. it is close to or less than 1W, which is excellent).
The operating power consumption varies in a wide range, depending on the brightness, or back-light setting. When set to 3, the power consumption

I did tons of research and decided to go with the 850, I've had this TV for a month now. No problems with anything, shipping went smooth & fast. Two tiny flaws of two burnt pixels, but there are TONS of them, 3ft away you cant see it at all, so who cares? I did turn off 120hz on some shows, since people walked funny, but for sports its amazing the difference with it on! also bought a samsung BluRay player and have Directv HD DVR.. everything works perfect, no issues. I give this TV five stars!

I did a lot of on-line research and store browsing before ordering this TV. My work paid off and we are extremely satisfied. We are using FIOS as our 'cable' system and the clarity, vividness and sharpness through the LN52A850 seem almost too good to be true. This TV replaced a 6-7 year old Samsung 50" DLP that failed due to a bad circuit board. For normal TV viewing the TV is used with the internal speakers which provide very adequate sound although the old DLP sounded better - internal sound is not a negative for this TV. Shortly this TV will be coupled with a Samsung BD-2500 or 2550 Blu Ray player and I have high expectations of that combo.

Is been 2 weeks since I got this tv to replace my old 42" LCD. After hooking up my blue ray player and sound system that I had with the old one I realized that my old tv never displayed my blue ray movies to full capacity. With the samsung TV the picture is just amazing, so clear you can see every detail it makes me feel like I went from regular dvd to blue ray using the same blue ray player I already had and after I got it calibrated is even better so far all I got to say is one word "WOW"

First things first: I did not purchase this TV (yet). Its been sitting in my cart and before I pressed that buy button I thought I'd see if there was any feedback from the avsforum community.
Apart from the glorious reviews about the picture quality on this TV, I read something else that is bothering me quite a bit. It seems that more than a few people (people who actually own this TV) are finding that several set-top boxes from Dish network, Comcast (and some models of Tivo) behave erratically due to IR signals coming out of this TV. This is especially true when the TV is turned ON and the consensus seems to be that the panel backlight is emitting IR signals causing the havoc. Here is a link to the thread discussing about this problem: [...]
It seems that Samsung is aware of the problem and hopefully they fix it soon. I am posting this here since I believe this is important information for people like me who are(were) on the verge of buying this set. Also Amazon.com adds greater visibility.

I'll be honest, only bought it because I wanted a tv that looked "cool".
In my opinion this is the best looking tv out there, so went right for it. Expensive, true, but so are decorative items in general.
Regarding the rest:
- Picture quality is great, but im not an expert. I cant tell the difference between any of the expensive hdtvs. all look the same to me
- Sound: also not an expert here, but this is where I think the tv could be better. At high volumes it sounds like what you'd hear from $50 dollar computer speakers.
- I really like the additional functionalities: plugging it to the internet to have live stock quotes, news feed and weather worked right out of the box. Also hooking it up to the network to be able to watch pictures and movies stored on my computer's hard-disk was a breeze (once again, im quite clueless with these things, so I think they did a great job if it was this simple)
- one major negative is that the TV does indeed interfere with some remote controls as others

All I can say is I love this TV!!! It does take some getting used to. The picture is so crisp and many people have said that it seems like the picture is moving too fast. My sister in law wanted to disable the 120hz... It is hard to watch my old TVs now. DLNA was difficult to set up initialy but that was my computers settings I went to another computer and it worked fine.
I am a little annoyed with amazon since the price dropped before I received the TV and they would not refund the difference.
Shipping was early and the delivery guys were friendly and a bit jealous...

I'm not going to repeat all the positive things that have been written about this TV. Let me just say they are all true and the Amazon White Glove service was flawless. The big box stores just can't compete. In fact, it's not even close. I don't think most people know that if you charge this on your Amazon Visa card the original warranty is doubled at no cost. By using Amazon,I avoided sales tax, paid no delivery fee and got an extended warranty at no cost. Savings of about $400.
This is our second large screen LCD. The first was a Westinghouse 47 inch LCD we bought from a big box store. Let me just say that the quality of the Samsung TV is vastly superior to the Westinghouse. Here again it is not even a close call. My advice to buyers is avoid Westinghouse, get this TV and buy it from Amazon.

This is an amazing set. For the past year I've been holding out for an XBR but recently the feature set in those sets isn't up to par with what it used to be. This TV has a nice balance of features (beyond just TV), a really nice picture and is very thin.
The DLNA is pretty cool. Right out of the box it found my laptop on the network and I could browse pictures and music it had - presumably because Vista and Windows Media have DLNA and 'serve' up content to whoever is on the network. Even more shocking was that it saw my 4-year old Sony Vaio that came with its own media server capabilities. The TV locked up (had to unplug it) when trying to view pictures, but music and some videos played just fine. I've not installed the software that Samsung supplies with the set - so it should get even better.
One word of CAUTION though. If you have a Dish receiver or Pioneer cable box, note that presently this set will likely interfere with your ability to make use of the remote controls for

Lots has been written about the quality of the picture, so I will just say everything written has been my experience also. Awesome picture. It blows away everything else I looked at in the stores and now in our home, it is even better.
Spend some time playing with the menu settings if for nothing else just seeing how much control you have over the picture. The menu is pretty well laid out and easy to make changes (although the remote's scroll wheel is a little frustrating). Menu changes take place right away making it easier to see what you have done without having to exit and re-enter the menu systeam again and again.
Some notes on my setup so that it may help some others having any issues.
TV connected to Comcast DVR (motorola) which seesm to only output 1080i max. Not sure if Comast has newer DVR boxes that offer 1080p or not. Will have to check on that. Might also be a Comcast cable limitation. But the picture still looks pretty great, so I don't see an issue here. I found that

I work at Circuit City selling TVs and rarely am I impressed with a new TV because they all look the same after calibration. When we got this TV in was the first time I looked a TV and just dropped my jaw saying, "I gotta own this!". Usually, for motion and colors, plasmas are so much better than LCDs. Not this case. Samsung, the number 1 TV seller, created this beautiful TV as a bookend to their year of great TVs. It is as beautiful as it is thin. Hook up a blu ray player to this TV and you are good to go. The motion and colors look like not only are you there, but that you can touch everything. This is the TV that will break sales records this holiday season. Buy this TV, now!
