I was VERY skeptical about buying a refurbished tv, but the price was really, really good. I did buy the two year warranty that is optional. The only thing I noticed was that there were finger prints on the trim of it, but that probably happens to the new ones as well. We love the TV and the picture and quality is awesome. It was by far a good purchase and I would recommned it to others! ps. when you click the remote to turn the tv on, it does take a few, like ten seconds, for the tv to come on. We assume this is normal, but are not for sure.

I love this TV! The picture is perfect and I had no trouble setting it up myself. I love the swivel base it is on - we can have a perfect view no matter where we sit in the room. There were smudge marks I couldn't rub off on the frame area, but they don't show when the set is on.

The TV itself is great. I purchased it December 2007. Everything was going great and we were enjoying it a lot until the power supply went out in the TV (March 2008). We contacted the store we purchased the TV from and they sent someone out to take a look. After confirming the power supply needed to be replaced they told us that it would be June or July before they could get the parts. The repair company and the store we purchased the TV from both said that having the customer contact Toshiba directly usually results in a better response on getting parts.
We contacted Toshiba directly, they assigned a rep to our problem, and we haven't heard anything back since. Each time we call Toshiba to get an update on the parts for our TV, they tell us that the rep has all the information and will call us back. They refuse to let us speak with the rep they assigned to the case, and they refuse to let us speak with a manager at Toshiba's call center.

I am pretty happy with the Regza 47HL167 that I purchased a couple of months ago. I read the 2008 Consumer Reports rating and agree with the ratings for the most part. Overall, the TV can be an excellent value, and possesses picture quality capabilities that exceed several other more expensive brands. It has plenty of inputs for various devices and is easy to operate. It has a severely limited viewing angle that should be considered carefully by some potential buyers and that is the primary reason that I cannot give it a "five star" rating. I would probably recommend the Samsung LNT 4661 for those who are willing to spend a little more money or hunt for a bargain. It has "as good" or better picture quality and a better viewing angle. A comparable Sony will cost at least $400 more than the 47HL167 and you may not notice any difference in picture quality.
The picture quality is very good with Standard Definition (SD) DVD's, and excellent with High Definition PC video files and Satellite

The "Green Push" issue is Bull SH#T. I purchased a Toshiba 47" (47HL167) a month ago on Feb 1, 2008 from Amazon. This TV rocks.
Many people also complains about the "Green push". What I notice is many of the reviews who mention about the "green push" don't own a Toshiba. They read the review from a few people who actually owns a Toshiba and complains about the "green push".
I ended up buying it anyway. Purchased my 47hl167 for ~$1290. The delivery was pretty good. I got my tv in about 4 business days. Great Job Amazon. I will buy another big ticket item again from you guys.

This TV is great, it is refurbished but you would never be able to tell. The picture is great but I suggest purchasing a DVE calibration DVD to fine tune the the resolution. I love this TV.

I am very pleased with the purchase of this TV. I followed the direction in the manual and set up went smooth. The set was a gift for my father who is blind in one eye. He loves it. He loves to watch Rachel Ray and Vegas, I think it is all the pretty girls. I will order big ticket items again from the "O".

Having had an old 27" CRT before purchasing a refurbished Toshiba Regza 42-inch, I was blown away by the picture size and resolution! This TV is fantastic! It was also extremely easy to set up. I've never been much of a 'TV watcher' so I don't have cable, but I did have an HD antennae and was pleasantly suprised that simply letting the TV search for stations on it's own yielded me FIVE more channels that I never knew were there.
The packaging/delivery were professional and timely. It was simply a matter of plugging it in and firing it up. I'm definately going to be looking at Overstock.com for some other items I've had my eye on.

I purchased this before Thanksgiving because the Samsung LNT4661 was not available and I got a good price on it at Sears with price matching. I won't go into all the gory details but only the highlights.
Pros:
-Very attractive styling
-Nice remote with channel favorites menus
-Easy list mode for adding and deleting channels quickly
-Sharp image
Cons:
-Green shift!!!!!! Look up on other forums for this model. It has a reputation for a slight green tint or shift on darker parts of the scenes. I spent many days trying to make fine adjustments but to no avail. Some people without a critical eye may not notice it but once I noticed it, I noticed more and more. Even my spouse (who is does not have a critical eye) complained
-PC input (VGA) limited in resolution to 1280x1024
-HDMI with computer video limited to 1920x1080 @24hz! Does anyone know of PC card with DVI out that supports this mode?
-NO USB port
Considering the price and Amazon's price today of $1199, this tv might be a keeper

I decided I needed an HDTV and went to the local store to view them. I was rather scientific about it, I went down the row and compared the pictures on each one and rated them. This search included plasma, lcd, sony, samsung, lg, toshiba, etc. I then looked at my sorted list - and to my surprise the top two TV's were both 47HL167 - unbeknown to me there had been two on the wall.
Now, I have a theory that the store can easily sway buyers to different TV's by playing with the color/sharpness/tint settings but this TV looked great. It was brighter than the others - this was particularly evident when looking at grass. The Toshiba showed a bright emerald green grass while the others were more of a darker pine green that didn't seem as clear to me - but others might disagree as it is a matter of preference. So I fully believe this TV is as good as the other brands.
I ordered off Amazon because it was significantly cheaper than the local stores. (The TV was delivered by Electronics

I purchased the Toshiba Regza 47-inch LCD tv about a month ago. I researched my decision for months before finally making the big purchase, but I couldn't be happier.
Amazon was the easy choice for retailer. I did a lot of price comparison through PriceGrabber.com and in-person at Best Buy, but nothing compared to the final price (and free shipping!) offered by Amazon. As a matter of fact, I kept a close eye on the price of my television while waiting for it to be delivered. The price dropped a couple of times before it was delivered, so I emailed Customer Service and was promptly given a full rebate of the difference.
As far as shipping goes, it was REALLY quite painless. I'd read a couple of negative reviews of the Eagle delivery service, so I was a little unsure of what to expect. However, when my television got to my city, I received a phone call from a very nice woman at Eagle to arrange a delivery. The delivery men were well within their dropoff time window, and they
