I just received the monitor, so my intention is to write a review based on initial impressions. In-depth reviews and long-term reviews I'll leave to others.
Out of the box, not much of a problem. I didn't have much a problem with anything. Just put the two pieces of the base together, insert the metal base piece into the bottom of the monitor, take off the back plate and insert your power cable and whatever cable you are going to use to hook it up to your computer, and pop the back plate back on. DVI, analog and USB are supplied, as well as the power cord, so you get four cords, and will wind up using two (the power cord and the cord you choose to hook up to your monitor). No tools required.
Asthetics - a nice, nice black with a red/rose tinting around the edges, and then silver at the very edges. I like it - this will be personal preference, but it looks nice to me.

Pros: This monitor arrived with no dead pixels, the ToC red is actually a very nice touch, the built in DTV tuner is worth the extra cost because it will find extra channels. The picture quality in 1080p on the PS3 is wonderful especially watching blue ray movies! Using it as a desktop monitor the picture is perfect. Gaming with this is great because you can see the camper from a looooong distance away! I did a dual view with this monitor vs my 19 inch and man oh man what a difference!!! A guys head would be the size of a dime on the 19' and about the size of a quarter/ nickel on this monitor. Helps a lot getting head shots and shooting long distances. In maps, playing America's Army, I can stand on the opposite side of the map and see the enemy clear as day, take my time and shoot when I'm ready... Chances are, you're going to be called a hacker! Also playing at 1920x1200 you will notice a lot more detail and games will look a lot better. No need to have your webpage's maximized!!

One of the things I really liked and appreciated about this television set is the easy to read and understand menu and remote. Some other electronic appliances I have require me to read the manual everytime I have to reset something. This one is simple enough for even me to operate.

My complaint is with the basic functions of this TV. Why put the manual buttons on the top of the TV? Why no channel return on the remote? When you power on the TV. You stare at a black screen for 10 full seconds then a message comes on that says "please wait" along with spinning arrow as if it is thinking about whether there is a dvd in the player or not. I haven't even tried that. Sharp missed the mark on this one. It's going back-- .

At first, I was shopping for a cheap 32" HDTV for my bedroom. After getting burned by two straight bad 32" HDTVs from other brands, not wanting to spend more money for the more expensive 32" sets, and seeing that a 32" screen is a little too big for my small bedroom, I decided to look one size smaller and get a good 26" television at the same price range.
I singled out this Sony model out of the other 26" televisions because it was the only 26" television that actually had a vertical viewing angle. The pictures on the rest of the 26" televisions turn white when viewed from above and turn purple and green when viewed from below. This Sony model does not have this problem.
The picture is great for an LCD. There are settings to improve the levels of black and white. Picture from the component connections look good. Analog channels have a bit of static in some colors. I don't have any HDMI device to try out the HDMI ports.
The television's audio is good when it's loud, but not good when

Picture and viewing angle are very good. Sound is clear but not much bass. The shiny black finish can be a little distracting. I like the remote layout and the on-screen menus. All in all, I like it.

I bought a 37" Regza a few months ago and like it but this smaller Toshiba is way inferior...the vertical viewing angle is limited to about 10 degrees...which makes for very poor pic quality if the watcher isn't pretty much smack in front of the screen.

So I got this a week ago and have been using it. Primarily as a computer monitor, secondarily for video games, and then TV/whatever as tertiary uses.
All in all, the picture is fantastic. It's big and bright, and mine came with zero defects.
The built-in speakers are very tinny at low volume. Strangely, when I crank the volume high, there's no distortion, and it sounds a lot better.
It suffers some viewing angle color shifts like most inexpensive LCD monitors, but they're only noticeable on the primary color tests. This site has the tests, and they're basically just pictures with explanations about what you should and shouldn't see.

Even with an analog VGA connection to my notebook, using the skinny VGA cable that came in the box, 1920x1200 is sharp-looking down to the pixel. Playing video games on an XBOX 360 at 1080i resolution through the analog connections, I have not noticed any ghosting or other artifacts. 1080i mode is full-screen, not letterboxed,

This is the perfect bedroom TV. Consumer Reports rated this 26-inch TV #1 at this size and it lives up to that rating in every way. Great color and sound. Everything with the vendor was also 5-star. Arrived in perfect condition within 4 days of the order with standard shipping. You cannot go wrong buying this TV from this vendor.

I am a very satisfied customer. I purchased the Samsung t260HD on Thursday of last week and had it delivered the next day with next day shipping. I must say that i'm not very easily impressed and i expect quality (functionality and style). For $500 i was expecting to have something that is worth the price and will do exactly what it is suppose to do.
Upon receiving this product i was blown away by the beauty of it when i opened the box and finished unwrapping everything. The entire monitor/tv is beautifully made and the face is absolutely astounding. The bezel is made out of glass and the touch of color is blended in perfectly. I am a college student. The monitor function is perfect. 1920 x 1200 looks great. For those wondering about the use with apple computers, you have nothing to worry about. I have a 15.5" macbook pro and setting up the monitor was easy. It is plug and play, as stated. The drivers automatically install and you can use the full features. These are my thoughts on this Samsung HDTV / Monitor (25.5 in not 26 as Amazon states) . I read literally dozens of reviews and spent many hours checking stats etc on one type and brand vs another. I chose this monitor based on several factors. I don't have a dedicated media room, so I wanted a tv that would fit in my entertainment center in the front room. I would have liked to have the 32 in model but it wouldn't fit. This was the largest that would fit of the major brands. It is also the only one that was 1080p not 720p. This is important to me for playing Blu Ray discs. We went to the local Sam's, Best Buy etc and checked out many tvs and agreed that the samsungs just looked stellar. Now on to address the strong points and the bad.

1. I really like the look of the tv. It is very slick without being garish. I think some of the Sony's can be over the top with the big clear bezel around the tv. This just looks good.

Bought the T260HD LCD HDTV for my son in September....it worked for about a week, then stopped. Monitor went dark and now flashes white every minute or so....only way to turn it off is to pull out the plug. Have been spending the last few weeks with Samsung trying to get a refund....very frustrating!

What can I say besides that everything went perfect. Amazon is great - I ordered and a few days later I received the product. They had the best price. The product itself is great for our sitting room. It replaced a Sharp LCD HDTV and there was a major difference.

This is a good all around HDTV in the 26" size-range that I had to have for my smallish entertainment cabinet. The DTV & HDTV picture quality (via Comcast Cable "out of the wall" no set-top box) is very good, particularly for the price.
My only BIG disappointment was the audio output options; the ONLY one available is a Digital Audio coaxial output. Since I'm using this as my primary TV, connected to a Home Theater system for improved audio, this is a major CON for me. The only way I can output analog audio is to route everything thru a clunky Cable set-top box (which I didn't otherwise want or need) that DOES have an analog output. Then I discovered that changing from "out of the wall" cable to the basic cable set-top box automatically converts all previously available digital TV signals back to analog!! Since I'm not willing to add to my already sky-high monthly cable bill to upgrade to all-HDTV programing & set-top box, I'll be moving this TV to a bedroom (where the TV speakers

Everything about this set is wonderful but ONE: There is a known SONY flaw with this particular model (26-M4000) and the HDMI cable connection when connecting to an HD Cable Box. I experienced a very thin white line that I called a "pearl necklace" of digital interference at the top of the screen on ALL non-HD broadcast channels and many of the network HD channels. You can fake it out by using ZOOM but then you lose some of the picture. I guess you could live with it, but it annoyed the heck out of me. The workaround is to use component cables (provided for free by my cable company). I attached the component cables and "voila" -- no more "pearl necklace" interference. The sound and picture are sterling but the quality is a tick less fine than with an HDMI hookup. But I paid $579, returned the Monster HDMI cable and saved myself that $80 expense, so I really have nothing to complain about.

Did quite a bit of research between Samsung and Sony on their lines of smaller LCDs - had a 22" Samsung 650 but the viewing angles were not very good (very light from viewed from above, and very dark when viewed from below). This Sony has excellent picture from any viewing angle and the price is very comparable with other 26" on the market.

I got this TV, mostly because it was a name brand and cheaper than most. I really like all the ports and I was willing to go with a 720 rather than a 1080 out of pricing. for a simple high def TV, this is really nice, I play alot of games and watch even more movies, so my old CRT wasnt going to cut it anymore. A few things I found to grip about(isnt that why we all read these things anyways?, lol)
1. the speakers broadcast most of the sound BEHIND the TV, now my games sound OK, but movies lose a bit. I would recomend using a stereo or alternate device to broadcast your sound.
2. I would have liked more than one S-Video port, I use alot of devices, and don't want to go out and get a componant cable just to have the DVD player and games at the same time with out loss of signal.
and 3. It was kinda wierd to find the buttons are not on the front of the TV, so that can make changing channels ackward if you lose your remote, and your TV is against something, not something that effects

HDLCD, I don't have HD service but the picture is just like HD with just a cable hook-up. I highly recommend this model.

I have been tracking this product and t220hd, t240hd for a while. The $30 Samsung rebate has been around for a while before Amazon reduce price for T260hd. But consider tax (8.25% for us in texas) in local stores (plus $520-$540 product price), or $25 shipping charged by the only potential candidate seller newegg, Amazon is still the first choice I would make. And then comes the price drop, which is amazing to me because i list the three models in my wishlist for easy comparison of their prices, and i find out t240hd and t260hd are both listed for the same price.
So I bite the deal and add 3.99 for one day shipping, it just came this morning. The product simply blow my mind off, especially when i hook up with my xbox 360. I play the two demos fifa 09 and need for speed most wanted, the graphics are out of this word gaming quality. I just want to address a few things. For viewing television, the picture is amazingly good. Playstation 3 looks awesome... literally the best that I've seen.
When used as a monitor... The color profile for any PC monitor is always controlled by the graphics card, so you have to go into the settings of your graphics card and tweak everything to make it look right... once you take the time to do that, it looks great.
The 'auto tune' feature for adding channels takes a long time and doesn't work that great, but any channel that you punch in will automatically be saved, so it's not a big deal. Analog signals take a couple seconds to tune in, but digital signals are quicker. Sometimes analog signals won't tune in on the first try, but not often.
There are no standard A/V inputs (RCA yellow,red,white). The verticle viewing angle could be better. There is really no way to mount it (although it has an Ex-Link port for hooking up to a motorized mount...???).
