Panasonic 42" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV
Very bright beautiful picture. I read the last review on overstock but still bought it. You aren't supposed to get 'right-up-to' any large screen TV. You will see some pixels if you do. The 1080 would help...but why spend the extra money? The 720p looks the same as the 1080p from 6 feet away (I tried them out in a local store charging retail). LCDs are getting almost as good at Plasmas as far as producing 'real' black colors. Plasma still produces the best 'black' for the money and brighter colors. Burn-in is not a factor anymore with plasma because it uses a 'screen' saver technology that 'clears' the screen from burn-in.The plasma picture produces better blacks than any LCD I've owned, the controls are extremely simple and the TV setup is SOOO simple.Excellent 'entry level' value in the plasma market. OH, Turn the enhanced bass 'on' in the Audio...the little speakers are a little low on bass unless you turn on the enhanced bass.If I went larger than 42 inches...hmmm...yeah, at 50inches

Sony KDL-40Z4100/s 40 Bravia Z Series LCD HDTV
Bought the Sony 40" 1080P Z LCD running with PS3 over Monster 1000M HDMI. Verdict, Amazing Picture! Go ahead buy Wall-E BluRay and turn on the TVs Motion Enhancer on Standard or High. This is as close to 3D as you can get. Absolutey breath taking during the SpaceWalk scene.

LCD pix looks very good with HD TV and digital cable even looks better then regular 1080I TVs. Amazon is currently offering this TV at a huge discount. Buy this TV or its 46" sister, and you will be happy. The TV on Vivid setting is very bright so you will need to have a very bright roon or manually tweak the custom setting. Also, TV comes with no cables, so you will need to buy high end cables for your HDTV and Blu Ray to get the perfect picture.

Panasonic VIERA TC-37LZ85 37 LCD TV-37 LCD 1080P
After reading Consumer Reports ratings, I ordered this tv online. We just received it today, opened, set up and watching HDTV in less than 10 minutes! The picture is beyond expectations. The color is so sharp and the picture is positively exquisite. Not only did Amazon have the best price, the no shipping, no taxes and white glove delivery made this an exceptional purchase overall. "Santa" delivered the new tv now, in anticipation of my 7yr old getting a wii for Christmas. I am so excited, "Santa" may have to open the wii tonight after he is in bed to test it out on the new tv.

Overall, the whole buying experience was so easy through amazon and the tv is just awesome!

Toshiba 37" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Like many shoppers who buy their first HDTV, I did my homework. I determined what size screen I needed (37 inches to 40 inches) what size screen would fit in my space (40 would been tight) and whether I needed a 720p or 1080p LCD. When a TV salesman told me I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 720 and 1080 on a 37-inch screen - and I verified that in his store - I found myself basically left with a brand-name issue.

Fortunately, I was able to view my major brand name choices - LG, Sharp, Sony - side by side. That's when I discovered the Toshiba 37AV502U. Compared to off-brands and the LG, it had a distinctively radiant picture. Could have been the settings in the store. I'll never know. But it did give me the confidence to include the Toshiba in my online shopping.

Even in the stores, I cold see the Toshiba was priced lower than the Sharp and the Sony. When I found it online (Amazon and elsewhere) for about $150 lower than in-store prices, I was sold.

The TV came promptly

Samsung 50" 1080p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV
I'd like to give this 4.5 stars...I can't give 5, and 4 is too low, but amazon only limits this to whole stars, so 4 it is.

Got this item at a steal of a price from a local retailer who was desperate for business. That aside, I had done plenty of research prior to purchasing and after a week, I can say I have no "buyer's remorse" for jumping on a TV at a great price. We've been looking to upgrade our old 27" zenith tube and the choice has been between this set and the 50" Panasonic PZ85U. Finally getting the opportunity to see these side by side in the store was where I made my final decision. I thought the Samsung looked a little more natural than the Panasonic as I come from a photography background. The Panasonic just looks a little too warm for my taste next to this set. Now...I'm sure neither one of the sets were calibrated at the store, and honestly, I don't think anyone can go wrong with either of these TVs...both produce an exceptional picture, but I liked the A650 over the

Westinghouse SK-32H590D - 32 LCD HDTV/DVD Combo - 1200:1 Contrast Ratio - 8ms Response Time
I bought the Westinghouse SK-32H590D last week and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I read all the customer reviews on this site and several others. I took most of them with a grain of salt but some of the misinformed really irritated me beyond belief. I don't get why some of these dummies are complaining about the TV's features when they should clearly just read the owner's manual and/or ask a 6 year old child for help.
1. The DVD player will resume it's last position IF YOU SET IT TO DO THAT IN THE DVD SETTINGS MENU!!! DVD RESUME, = ON. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
2. The clock and the timer will work and will not have to be reset daily IF YOU SET THE POWER SETTING TO NORMAL NOT POWER SAVER WHICH SHUTS OFF ALL POWER TO THE TV!!! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! How do you think the clock and timer operate? Osmosis? Solar energy? Hamster turning a wheel? The TV needs electricity, duh!!! Do you unplug your digital alarm clock and expect it to wake you up in the morning too???
3 If

Sharp LC37SB24U 37-inch Black LCD HDTV-SHARP LC37SB24U 37 Black LCD HDTV 720p Resolution
Purchased on November 13th. Failed to turn on November 22. This has to be the very first TV I've owned that failed in this way and the last Sharp I will purchase. It's back to Walmarts with this piece of junk.

Panasonic VIERA TC-37LZ85 37 LCD TV-37 LCD 1080P
System is good for a small room. The picture clarity is great and HD is sharp and crisp. Sound is acceptable but I added a small powered audio speaker system to enhance the base.

Sharp 46" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Our requirements for an HDTV are that it have a GREAT picture (check!), good sound (check,) eye-popping colors (check,) and be user friendly (check.)

This is a great HDTV for regular folks who don't have a list of high tech requirements. It might stand up to the high tech test, I have no idea. Consumer reports rated this a very good HDTV, I bought it, and we're very happy with it. We don't play video games on it. We watch Tivo'd movies and programs and watch DVDs.

Picture quality, in my very humble opinion, is breathtaking. We found it to be a reasonably priced television that meets and exceeds all of our family's requirements.

We were surprised to find that the sound quality is very good, too. Complex sound and you can raise the levels quite loud.

We've had it for a few months and are still very happy with it.

20 TOC Widescreen LCD HDTV Rose Black
Good picture and in all fairness tv does not have an hd source.
The problem is the brightness, color and tint must be adjusted each time the unit is turned off and back on. All other settings remain as set. This gets alittle old after a while and if all are like mine then I cannot recommend it.

20 TOC Widescreen LCD HDTV Rose Black
I have owned this TV for over a week and couldn't be more pleased. It arrived after about 3 days using Saver Shipping, and there are no dead pixels that I can see. I use this as a primary monitor in a dual monitor setup and as an HDTV through a HD Cable Box. It is excellent on both counts.

As a monitor using the DVI hookup, this monitor has amazing graphics with my ATI 4850 gfx card. My old monitor was a 17' flat screen, and with the two of them sitting next to each other, the difference is very noticeable. Viewing text and pictures are both very clear, and I notice no lag or delays with the image. Setup was very easy, and after using plug-and-play for a while, I installed the drivers for the monitor. Both worked very well.

As an HDTV, the picture quality is also amazing. I watched a few sports games, a few regular HD channels, and some HD movie channels, and was pleased with them all. This is my first HDTV at home, and I couldn't be more impressed with the difference it makes. I do want

20 TOC Widescreen LCD HDTV Rose Black
Well, when I thought about buying this particular monitor I looked around for a better bargain. When I could not find one I decided to go ahead and buy this one. And Let me tell you for $279, it's been the best tv/monitor I've ever owned. Gaming is fantastic on this beauty. I read on another review that you have .6 inches of blackness while watching tv, or playing games. Not for me, I just put it on "Just Scan" video mode, and while gaming it fills the whole screen. It stretches things out just a tiny bit, but it works, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Woot.
For OTA signals it's alright, I need a more powerful antenna to pick up all the channels. But the high-def OTA signals are amazing. SDTV signals aren't great though.
My only real complaints are that the sound through the headphone jack isn't all that great, and the fact that I'll have to buy a Surround sound system, to compensate for the poor speakers on the system. Oh, well. 5 Stars Anyway!

Philips 19-inch 19PFL3403D LCD TV and HD Tuner (Refurbished)-Philips 19-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with HD Tuner
I purchased this TV for my daughter's birthday (10/27). The picture WAS beautiful and she was very happy with it. Last week the picture just blew. While watching a movie; the set suddenly began blairing a loud staticy noise and the picture was gone. We shut the set off. The next day we turned the TV back on and the sound was fine...but no picture - the picture is gone.

Today, I am packing this TV up and shipping it back.

Sharp 26" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV/DVD Combo
My complaint is with the basic functions of this TV. Why put the manual buttons on the top of the TV? Why no channel return on the remote? When you power on the TV. You stare at a black screen for 10 full seconds then a message comes on that says "please wait" along with spinning arrow as if it is thinking about whether there is a dvd in the player or not. I haven't even tried that. Sharp missed the mark on this one. It's going back-- .

20 TOC Widescreen LCD HDTV Rose Black
Have used the Samsung T200HD for one week now in our kitchen. We wanted an HDTV primarily, with the ability for connectivity to other items such as a video camera and computer laptop. The out-of-box setup was easy. The menu interface for TV setup was also easy to use. It too the T200HD about 4 minutes to completely tune itself to all cable stations. HD stations are awesome and standard definition are completely acceptable. The speakers are located on the back of the unit and the sound is also very acceptable for use in our mid-large sized kitchen. If I were using the unit in a large living room, I might consider some external speakers although the sound may still be suitable for many people. For a great HDTV and monitor all built in one unit, I would highly recommend this Samsung. I will be purchasing another larger HD TV soon for another room and I will definitely be buying another Samsung. By the way, this unit comes with a 3-year warranty and not the standard 1-year that most

20 TOC Widescreen LCD HDTV Rose Black
I bought this product specifically to use as a PC monitor and thought I was getting a good deal. $300 for a 1920x1200 resolution.

Well, it turns out the specs listed in amazon are completely wrong!
It's no even consistent if you read the whole thing.

This monitor is only 1680x1050.

So beware! I'm sure the monitor is still a good product but amazon sucked on that one! I called their support and sure, they were willing to let me refund it but I don't really have the time to wait for a new monitor to arrive.

Sharp AQUOS 65" Class 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
This TV is so far everything I expected. The Sharp Aquos line took a big dump years ago when they started to redesign and replace parts with cheaper ones. This new generation Shar Aquos is back to its original standards. I have this unit mounted on the wall of my entertainment center and its the perfect size. This is the only available LCD on the 65" range. About the 120hz hype, I've seen the next generation of this model with the 120hz Spider Man 3 on Blu-ray and there IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. What the other makes are advertizing as 120hz true motion is different. This is manipulating the image to eliminate all possible blur natural to LCDs when watching cinema (24 frames per second) movies. If you have any doubts, go to a Frys or BestBuy and watch a TV playing a movie with 120hz true motion enabled. It makes movies look fake, as if you are watching a video game or a soap opera. It takes you out of the movie. Your grinch reflex will be overworked scene by scene. Sharp has had 120hz

Sharp 46-inch LC46D64U Aquos Flat Panel LCD HDTV
I've wanted an HDTV for a long time. Ever since I set my eyes on the crisp picture and vibrant color that high definition had to offer I was determined to have one. So after years of waiting and saving I finally decided I was going to take the plunge. I took the time to do my research and after a month or so of comparing reviews and staring aimlessly at in store floor models I decided that the Sharp Aquos 46 inch LCD HDTV was exactly what I was looking for. After all, it was a quality product that got great reviews at a comparable price, how could I possibly go wrong?

After I bought my television I took it home and carefully unpacked it, plugged it, turned it on and basked in all the glory that Sharp had to offer. For a short time, the relationship was a good one. I came home and it dazzled me with a crisp fluid picture, superior sound, and a full 1080p resolution, I was in love. A whole new world was at my finger tips, Dirty Jobs never looked so dirty, I was totally smitten. Then suddenly

Philips 47PFL5603D 47-inch HD Flatscreen LCD TV-Philips 47PFL5603D 47 Flat LCD HDTV
I'm still playing around with this thing so there may be updates to come. I'm not a technophile and bought this monster mostly because of the upcoming digital transition - my plan is to watch mostly off-air hdtv signals, dvds, and some old video.

And this IS a monster, BTW. At almost 80 lbs it's close to the upper edge of my lifting range. Eventually it'll be permanently mounted to the wall, but meantime I'm holding it up while the female of the species meditates on furniture arrangement! I know I'm losing weight, but maybe disks as well...

The menus are NOT right-sized for a 47" tv; they're absurdly huge and unnecessarily obscuring. However the real problem, for non-cable me, is the slowness of the channel-changing. And it's not like you see channel 6.1 until channel 6.2 appears three seconds later - you see a completely blank screen, not even the channel numbers in the upper left-hand corner.

HDTV looks FANTASTIC on this set, though it took a couple of re-channel-formats - and

Sony BRAVIA 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
This television just arrived this morning and I have much to learn about it, but I wanted to write about the great buying experience I had at Amazon. Ordered the television on a Friday -- because it was over 40" we received free White Glove shipping and it arrived on Monday! The delivery person brought the tv into the house, unpacked it and set it up. When I went online a little while later I saw that the price for this tv had dropped so I emailed and called Amazon and in a few hours received written email confirmation that the charge would be adjusted on my credit card. I was very pleasantly surprised and am very pleased with this entire experience so far.
