Sony KDL-46XBR6 46" BRAVIA XBR® LCD Flat Panel HDTV

I own 46" XBR6 for about 3 weeks now, I use this as a monitor from time to time and find primary colors somewhat inaccurate. Though I have to say this display does provide POP people ask for. I have not played any blu-ray movies so can't comment on that but pretty sure it would look great. Black levels are much better than I expected from an LCD. Even SDTV feed from cable looks better than expected but not for all programming so I can firmly say that upconversion process is pretty good. I did not see any motion blur while watching football. My initial comment about non-accurate color is more evident when you have another TV/monitor side by side (i have 21" NEC Professional series CRT next to my 46XBR6), otherwise it would be hard to tell for most people as my wife and friends were not able to see inaccurate primary colors until i turned my NEC.

I have had this now for a little over two weeks, and am blown away by the picture quality. The reviewer who complained about only one rf antenna input needs to get a new set top box from the cable company or change to a new provider. I am subscribed to Verizon FIOS in the Maryland suburbs, and their set top box for HD has multiple outputs including an HDMI. This TV has multiple inputs, including a single RF input for off the air or cable; three older yellow, red and white types; two component inputs, 4 HDMI inputs plus a PC and DMeX input. This should cover everyone's needs. The remote will control up to 4 devices including Verizon's STB, and you can program it tell you what device you are connecting.

Overall, I was pleased with the white glove delivery. The CEVA company out of Odenton said they would deliver it between 10 and 3, but the driver didn't arrive until 5. In his defense, he said that this was the last of his 22 appointments for that day. He came in and helped to move

This is exactly what I wanted in my first flat screen purchase. I did months of homework and read all of the reviews and it basically came down to this one and the Samsung A 650, and although the Samsung is a great choice it wasn't good for me because of the SIGNIFICANT glare and reflection of the glass face-plate. I have a room that gets alot of sun so this was very important. If you get any light on the tv at all the glare is very distracting. With the Sony you hardly notice it. The Sony is gorgeous and my wife thanks me for buying it everytime we watch it. Also to get the colors right I would suggest going to [...] and reading their review and settign the colors up like they did, it really looks amazing.

The picture on this set is the most remarkable I have ever seen and I have been watching television since 1939. It does have one strange problem. When connected to Time Warner cable in New York City, the sound goes off for a few seconds at irregular intervals - it could be once every five minutes or it could be once an hour. If the same HDMI input is used for the Blu Ray player there is no problem. Nor is there a problem if the Time Warner box is connected to a 22 inch Sony High definition set. Sony has no idea what to do.

Sony KDL-46W4100 Bravia 46" W4100 LCD Television

Great picture on this Bravia TV, colors are very natural and pop. Black and white levels are very good as well. I never liked the cartoonish colors and gloss on the Samsungs (although I have not seen this years models). In recent years, Ive bought and helped others buy a few Samsung LCDs ranging from 20" to 40" and none of them looks as good as the W4100. The built in speakers are also much better than the Samsungs, very usable for dialog and movies with less action scenes. Something to consider if you do not have an audio setup. I also compared this to a 42" LG70 bought a month before the Sony and again, the Sony had the slightly better, more natural picture. Of course the XBR is better but you pay a high premium for it. Unless you are a videophile or have a nice chunk of change in your pocket I think the W series is more realistic and a good compromise.

I purchased this TV with the silver bezel from Amazon and have had it for a few days now. I looked at various LCDs from Sony, Samsung and Sharp and decided on the Sony based on the picture quality and also the design (I also read many reviews online especially at Amazon). The picture is great so far, watched NFL this past weekend and felt like I was sitting in the stands. The design with the small silver bezel is what really attracted me to the TV much nicer than the shiny black or even reddish colored bezels from Samsung (that is just my personal opinion). The small bezel does not attract away from the picture while watching the TV I found this was not the case with the Samsungs which had very nice pictures but tended to reflect light and glare from the bezels. The price and service from Amazon were very good took about a week to get once it shipped and I was able to track it. The shipping co. was very good with delivery, scheduling and carrying into the house. So I definately recommend

So far, I have to say I am extremely happy with the picture quality of the W series. I thought the Sony LCD TVs looked the best in the store and I have always been partial to Sony, so after 2 yrs of waiting and shopping around, I finally pulled the trigger on the KDL-W4100 and it was delivered last week.

First--my experience with the "white glove" delivery service. Two guys literally ran in my front door--they already had the box partially unpacked. They pulled out the TV, set it on the stand (and then handed me the screws to actually attach it), plugged in the cable, turned it on, handed me a checklist, and ran out the door. They were not in the house more than 5 min. Technically, they did everything on that Amazon describes--but either they were in a big hurry or they get paid by the number of deliveries. Given that unpacking and setting up a TV is not a big deal and I could have easily done it myself, I just laughed at the Keystone Kops performance going on in my living room (and they

I'm not a tech geek but did a lot of research, looked at quite a few TV's in stores and read many reviews. I was mostly comparing Sony & Samsung but also took a look at Toshiba. In fact, I had pretty much decided on Samsung and then had a change of mind. These brands all have some good quality sets.
I chose this Sony because the previous (non-HD) Sony TV we had was still working great after 10 years with no problem and I felt more comfortable with their reliability ratings in Consumer Reports. Another reason, like others here on Amazon is the less reflective screen. I had decided to go with a "W" series Sony with the 120hz motion enhancer but decided to upgrade to the "Z" series when a really hot price came out. When I purchased it, the Z was only $100 more than the W series TV and was $1000 below the list price, which turned out to be $500 less than the popular local big box department store. Plus free shipping, no sales tax and white glove delivery. The Z series has a couple of upgrades

I purchased a Sony 46XBR6 from Amazon.com Sony wins hands down on Value, and Quality, over other brands.
The TV that I am replacing is a Sony (18 yrs of service and still works very good). Amazon.com is the best to deal with, not only the best price
but they sell quality items.I received my XBR in 5 days, the Free White Glove Delivery via Pilot Freight was the Best Service I ever had,They delivered to my home, ask what room did I want the Sony in.The driver offered to un-pack it. Amazon is most Honest, during shipping there was a price drop, I called customer service and within one minute they adjusted my purchase price, emailed me a credit for the lower price. And they have real live people to talk to.Very Happy with Sony and Amazon.com,"I will be back"

I got this TV a little bit over a month ago and have put in about 100 hours of viewing I would guesstimate. After that time I would say the TV has an incredible picture. Some people said the color variation was a little off but I haven't seen this. I did setup the custom picture setting by using the THX video optimizer included with newer pixar movies and star wars films. This made a big difference in overall picture quality and was very easy to do. The brightness of this display is impressive even when first turned on. The CCFL backlight seems to come to full brightness very quickly and evenly distributes the brightness extremely well. Color representation appears to be dead on with all types of media (cable, blu-ray, dvd, ps3, xbox). The motion plus feature is great when watching sports but can cause some juddering effects while watching non-sport content. The response time for video games is also a plus with no visible judders but this is with game mode turned on. The tv really

I have always purchased Sony televisions because of their quality and the reliability. The Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46 from the quality perspective is as good as it gets. Crystal clear HI DEF and the non-HI DEF shows an amazing improvement also. Obviously, I cannot comment on the reliability at this point but the Sony it replaced was 25 years old and fault free. A word of caution in choosing your service provider. Make sure that they do not interfere with the functionality of your television. Specifically, your PIP capabilities. My new cable provider has helped me around this problem (thanks to the multiple inputs of the TV) but it is still not to the perfection it should be. I could not be happier with Amazon, the set arrived as scheduled, undamaged with the "White Glove" handler very helpful and courteous. By the way, the price I paid was cheaper than the manufacturer and all the big-name electronics stores.

Sharp LC46SB54U 46-inch Class LCD Full HD 1080p HDTV

I picked this TV up on Black Friday at an amazing price, and I'm very satisfied with it. I'm using both of the HDMI inputs (digital cable & Blu-ray player), one component video input (Nintendo Wii), and an RCA input (for a VCR). I've also hooked up my laptop to the PC input, just to see what it was like, and it looked great. I have the optical output going from the TV into my surround sound system, which also works well.

One great thing about this TV is that it remembers the video settings separately for each input, so I can fine-tune each device for the best experience. Another thing that surprised me was that when I hooked up my Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray Player to the HDMI input, the TV allowed the audio to pass through the optical out on the TV and into my surround sound receiver. From what I've seen on the Internet, and from a call to Sharp tech support, that isn't supposed to be possible. But it works! Maybe it's just this particular combination, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Sony KDL-46S4100 Bravia 46" S4100 LCD Television

After my previous 42" Plasma went out on me after only 2 years of working, I decided I was done with Plasma and wanted an LCD. I play alot of games and wanted to use the tv as a monitor. LCD is the best choice for this. I new I didn't need the top of the line TV, just something that would work and work well. I finally decided on a Sony. I bought it from a local store for a good price, took it home and easily set it up. Upon checking the menu I found it very easy to use and I like how it is off set, not right in the middle of the screen. It makes picture adjustments alot easier.
The Remote is descent, I'm not remote crazy, so as long as it does what I need it to I don't really care.
I had 2 major problems, however. First up, I couldn't get the optical out to work for the life of me. I tried everything and I'm a fairly tech savy guy. The second thing is clouding/Panel inconsistencies. This was a huge problem. I had two cloudy patches on the panel when watching TV at night. Whenever there

Like most customers i had been doing research on various 46 inch LCD TVs for a couple of months. For various reasons it eventually came down to Sony W Series vs Samsung 650 Series. I went to Best Buy showroom and saw them both side by side. Right till the time i made my purchase Samsung had a slight edge in my mind. I went for Sony when i saw this great deal at Circuit City($1299+Tax). With 8% AAA Members Discount to top it, this was a Steal! I locked in the price. I have the TV for a week now and "no regrets".
My advice-- Go for the best price! They are both good TVs. Infact if you are over 30yrs like me then your eyesight might become the limiting factor...:). Four things to look out for in LCD TV- 120Hz,1080p,at least 20,000:1 contrast ratio and atleast two HDMI inputs(3 or more if you are into Gaming).

Sharp LC46SB54U 46-inch Class LCD Full HD 1080p HDTV

This is our first LCD and we love it! We researched online and compared different brands and models at the stores before narrowing our selection to Sony, Samsung and this Sharp . . . all with excellent picture quality and the features we wanted. The deciding factor was the fabulous price we got just before Thanksgiving 08; just couldn't pass it up. Sharp is a great value especially if you don't need all the "bells and whistles" and you don't pay for the Sony or Samsung name. It has an excellent picture and has really good simulated surround sound with excellent volume control. It is easy to set up and operate. The 46" screen is perfect for our open living/dining/kitchen great room. We love the anti-glare feature as we have lots of windows in our roon. When it is the brightest in the morning, I just easily turn the screen towards our seating area. Perfect picture at all angles so don't worry if your TV doesn't sit directly in front of your seating area. WE LOVE IT!

This TV has a great picture and good sound. It is considerably cheaper than the AQUOS brand TV's, probably because they use cheaper components. Specifically, the audio/video processor which converts your RCA/Coax antenna input is troublesome. 2 problems:

1. Audio/video sync isn't always correct. When watching a program, you may begin to notice lip movements do not coincide with the voice. I have noticed that some stations appear to be just fine, and others are almost always off sync. No this isn't a signal problem, as my tube TV does not suffer here.

2. Input/output delay. If you play video games, you may have a problem here. This TV will introduce a delay between when it receives a signal and when it is output. From what I can gather, it's due to a conversion from the input format to a format the TV can display. Playing games using the RCA or Coax input is really annoying. The bright side here is that the PC VGA, and HD component inputs are free from this problem. I'm guessing

Sony KDL-46Z4100/B 46" Bravia LCD Flat Panel HDTV

I had been researching TV's for about a month or so. I knew I wanted an LCD in the 42"-50" range, backed by a trusted brand name, with if not cutting edge technology then at least most of the latest and greatest features on current high-end models. This because a TV is something I buy and use for many years, and I don't want my set to become obsolete two years from purchase date. So after reading many product specifications, manufacturers' descriptions, reviews from other users and professional reviewers, and spending many hours walking through electronics stores and looking at displays, I picked the Sony Bravia KDL-46Z4100. The next closest contender was the KDL-46W4100. However, the Z series won out, although it was a couple of hundred dollars more expensive, for these reasons:

- Much better looking set (I'm talking about the physical TV here) with a very slim bezel and all-black design, as opposed to the two-tone black and silver of the W.
- 10 bit color processor, which gives far

I researched LCD's till my mind felt like scrambled eggs. I assume, like most other people, the decision came down to Sony or Samsung. I wanted to spend around $1500 for a 46 inch. After much deliberation and physically checking out the TV's at Best Buy, i went with the Sony for the following reasons:

Picture: The Sony screen is less reflective than the Samsung, providing a picture that i feel is easier on the eyes. The Sony also has very deep blacks, which makes the image look fantastic. I have to say that i also think the Samsung has a great picture, i just prefer Sony's.

Sound: The Samsung down firing speakers sound terrible and muffled, and although many people will hook their TV's up to a sound system, this bugged me. The Sony built in speakers sound great.

Design: To me, Samsung TV's look cheap and plastic. And i don't like "The Touch of Red." I think it looks cheesy and eighties. Although there is plastic border around the Sony, its industrial design is clean and elegant, and

I've had this tv for about a mo. now and I'm still blown away. The clarity and color on this tv is simply amazing. If you want a great tv, I would buy this tv, especialty with the way prices are dropping on tv's. I would also suggest, if you're going to invest in this type of tv, that you have it calibrated. I definitely noticed a big difference,ie, better picture quality and color saturation, than before I had it done. I promise, you will not regret purchasing this beautiful tv.
