Samsung 46" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
We debated for a couple months deciding to go with the 650 vs 550. We finally decided on the 550 and did not think that the 120HZ would make a big difference. We currently do not have HD, but will probably get soon. This tv is awful for football without HD. The picture if very pixelated even in the 4:3 vs 16:9. It is worse than my 10 year old tv that is about comparable in size to the 4:3. I would not recommend this tv without HD if you watch any sports. Also overall, picture not very good with daylight, but does look good at night as long as there is no excessive movement.

SHARP LC46SB54U 46-inch LCD Full HD 1080p HDTV-SHARP LC46SB54U 46 LCD Full HD 1080p HDTV
Our requirements for an HDTV are that it have a GREAT picture (check!), good sound (check,) eye-popping colors (check,) and be user friendly (check.)

This is a great HDTV for regular folks who don't have a list of high tech requirements. It might stand up to the high tech test, I have no idea. Consumer reports rated this a very good HDTV, I bought it, and we're very happy with it. We don't play video games on it. We watch Tivo'd movies and programs and watch DVDs.

Picture quality, in my very humble opinion, is breathtaking. We found it to be a reasonably priced television that meets and exceeds all of our family's requirements.

We were surprised to find that the sound quality is very good, too. Complex sound and you can raise the levels quite loud.

We've had it for a few months and are still very happy with it.

Samsung 46" Class 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
My wife and I bought this bad boy last week from Amazon, and it arrived in 4 days flat with their great delivery service. We decided to hang it up on our masonry fireplace. We chose a Sanus tilting mount for the job, which was surprisingly easy to attach to the masonry.

The 850 is special because it's super thin. 1.9" at it's thickest point. This makes wall mounting especially attractive. Throw in the excellent picture, and I'm on cloud nine.

After one day of enjoying it, I say that while I'm impressed with the clarity of the 120Hz feature, my wife and I keep the setting set to "low", which introduces a higher framerate, but not so high as to be actively distracting. For us, the "camcorder-like" feeling of the full 120Hz is best for sports, as opposed to movies/tv.

Bottom line: The Samsung LCD's are amazing to begin with, and the "8" series, given it's thin frame, adds some extra style. Keep that in mind when your comparing this model to all the others, including the 9 (950/960)

Sony BRAVIA 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Product Review:
If you are looking to buy a Sony LCD larger than 40" for less than $2000 this is as good as it gets.

The picture clarity is simply awesome (even with an HD antenna), with no motion blur and good enough speakers. It looks sleek and smartly designed with minimum waste of space.

I picked Sony over Samsung because I liked it better after weeks of staring at LCDs in many stores. I picked the Z-series over XBR because I didn't feel the XBR was worth the extra money.

Buying Experience Review:
After shopping around we found the price on Amazon to be unbeatable. This was our first big purchase online but since it was sold by Amazon we went with it and are happy. I placed the order on 10/29/2008 and the TV was delivered to my door on 11/05/2008. The initial delivery estimate was 11/08/2008 by CEVA logistics.

All of Amazon's promised white glove delivery was executed by the delivery guys except for putting the TV on its pedestal. CEVA apparently does not authorize its deliverymen

Sharp 46-inch LC46D64U Aquos Flat Panel LCD HDTV
I've wanted an HDTV for a long time. Ever since I set my eyes on the crisp picture and vibrant color that high definition had to offer I was determined to have one. So after years of waiting and saving I finally decided I was going to take the plunge. I took the time to do my research and after a month or so of comparing reviews and staring aimlessly at in store floor models I decided that the Sharp Aquos 46 inch LCD HDTV was exactly what I was looking for. After all, it was a quality product that got great reviews at a comparable price, how could I possibly go wrong?

After I bought my television I took it home and carefully unpacked it, plugged it, turned it on and basked in all the glory that Sharp had to offer. For a short time, the relationship was a good one. I came home and it dazzled me with a crisp fluid picture, superior sound, and a full 1080p resolution, I was in love. A whole new world was at my finger tips, Dirty Jobs never looked so dirty, I was totally smitten. Then suddenly

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I really like this TV, actually. But I'm sending it back. It's not for me.

The allure of this TV was the fact that it's a matte-version of the 650... However, I recently found out, it isn't. This is a 120mhz version of the 550. This uses an older processor than the 650. I'm a bit disappointed by that, and the lack of an extra HDMI port. The PQ isn't as stunning as the 650, predominately because of the older processor, not because of the semi-matte finish.

However. Glossy does give you better blacks. This TV has pretty grey-colored blacks, which annoys me. It also suffers from clouding/flashlighting, unlike the 650 I've used.

I did buy this version because I wanted to avoid reflections... I also bought the 650 for my Mom. Her TV is just plain out nicer. The reflections? Not a big difference. You see the reflections on both TV's. This one just diffuses them with the semi-matte. But you can still see yourself during dark scenes! It's just not as clear.

Compared to the 650, the difference

Mitsubishi 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
This is my third high-definition television and of the televisions I've owned, this television has the best image of all; crisp and clean with vibrant color.

The first thing out of the box I liked about this television is its physical size compared to the screen size. We have a media center, which limits the size of the television which can fit within the opening. Other brands I looked at had cosmetic trims or large speakers flanking their screens, which meant I would have to purchase a smaller sized screen to fit my furniture. The Mitsubishi television however has its sound bar underneath the screen and its trim is very thin, making it very compact for a 46" television.

The picture is absolutely great and as I mentioned before has vivid color and wonderful clarity that surpasses any high-definition television I've owned. I really don't know what else to say about it other than I am really happy with it. The only criticism I have is that occasionally I've noticed some "backlight

Sony BRAVIA XBR 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Sony xbr6, 46 inch version: very fine picture, but troublesome remote. The "Jump" function does not always work. The TV displays the message Now Tuning but the channels do not switch. This was a problem I also had with the Sony Z-series TV this summer and that is why I traded for the XBR6. A Sony repair man was sent to "professionally evaluate" the TV. He replaced the main circuit board and remote sensor. This did not solve the problem. He then told me that he cannot repair the unit by replacing any more parts. He called Sony directly from my home and told them the same. I was promised some contact from Sony. It has not happened. After several more calls to Sony, I got promises of return calls which did not come. Now I have a defective unit that according to the repair tech cannot be fixed and Sony is not responding to my concerns.

Sony BRAVIA 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
The TV arrived yesterday and so far, it has been great.

A key component to my decision to buy through Amazon was the white glove delivery for large TVs. But, in my case, Amazon had my order filled by Vanns. When I saw the Vanns reference while I was placing the order, I looked all over the Amazon site and did not find that ordering through another supplier meant another type of delivery or that I had any choice about who actually filled the order or what that would mean delivery-wise. As it turns out, I did not get the white glove delivery. Instead, I had to deal with FedEx Ground and their policies (no appointment--they will just tell you the day they are coming) and do all the other things that it looked like would be taken care of by the Amazon delivery company. FedEx did bring the TV inside. The Vanns customer service person told me that sometimes they ship by Yellow Freight. I don't know how far Yellow Freight will take it from their truck (whether they leave it on the street

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
The LN46A650 is indeed a beauitul TV, with full HD capability, and amazon offered an unbeatable price. BestBuy, Costco, even Circuit city could not come close to the price Amazon offered. So for starters, you know that the price is a bargain and cant be beat. But what about the Tv itself and how does it compare to other brands and how does it compare to other models within Samsung?

Well, during my research, my price budget was actually around 1200, and I was looking towards getting a toshiba of the same size 46" that offered a gaming mode and it seemed to lure me in. But after comparing both TV's, toshiba just wasn't worth it. Yes of course samsung was more money, but you get what you paid for. And since this is an investment that you will enjoy over the years to come, you don't want to go cheap but you do want to have somewhat of a flexible budget. I spent 300-400 more in order to get the 46A650 which offered just simply much more. 50,000 contrast ratio, 120Hz, a beautiful viewing angle

Sony BRAVIA 46" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
This is the 4th large LCD TV I've ordered from amazon this year. This one was for my Aunt and she is totally thrilled with the set. The only think lacking is the 120hz. I have it on my 52 xbr4 but I also have a 46" Sony much like this one in 1080P and it's fine. The xbr4 is far above most in my un-expert opinion but I also love the 46" without the 120hz. You really need to look at both sets to determine if you'll appreciate the difference. If you're set on a 120hz set; the Z set Sony has out now is a great deal. Keep in mind, Sony has almost no glare from any light source; a huge selling point in my opinion.

Samsung 46" Class 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I just got this TV set up and going last weekend and after tweaking all of the settings, this is truly the best TV I've ever owned. I previously had a 30 in tube HDTV. The 850 equals all the best qualities of the CRT and has dozens of tweaks to zero in on the best picture for each type of input.

I'm getting my HD signal over the air with a UHF antenna. I have my basic cable running through the S Video input since I don't have any HDMI outputs from my cable box. HD is awesome and standard definition is excellent.

What sets this set apart from many others is the USB input. I've put my pictures on a thumb drive, plugged it in and wow. My pictures have never looked better and I'll never look at a 4x6 print again.

I have yet to hook up my PC to the TV through the wiselink, but that's next where I'll be able to browse and play all of my movie files. Of course you can put your movies on a thumb drive just get an 8 gig for the movie files.

This TV does it all and with style. The

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Chose this TV over the samsung LN46A650 because of the semi-matte finish and because it has less red around edge. The semi-matte is great, only see any reflection in extremely direct light. The red "Touch of Color" is almost non-existant on this model, you really have to get close to see that there's any red at all. Picture is amazing with HD, bluray, PS3, and even SD channels are better than I expected. Swiveling pedestal also a nice touch, makes it easy for me to get behind it and swap out connectors (HDMI, component, etc all work great). If I had one negative about the TV it would be that I have yet to find programming (HD or otherwise) that really benefits from the Auto Motion Plus 120hz feature. After a few minutes I turned it off, tried using it (low, medium, high, auto) again randomly with bluray, videogames and sports, but always end up turning it off again. It just can't seem to interpolate the frames to maintain consistent onscreen motion and is EXTREMELY annoying. It

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I spent a lot of time looking around for a good tv. After reading many reviews and all the horror stories I decided to go with the 650 series. Great picture right out of the box, you can play with some of the settings if you want to adjust to your room. Spoil yourself on some HD channels or HD gaming. SD tv will never look the same.

On a side note find out who your white glove shipper is and contact them about the delivery date, I got my tv 4 days before the "estimate" date doing so.

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
After reading reviews in Cnet and Consumer Reports, and feedback from owners on the AVS board, I knew I wanted to get a Samsung LCD. But which one? The 550, 630 and 650 are all highly rated, and all fell within my price range.

I first looked at the 550. Great TV and the lowest price. The picture quality was top-notch, but it did not have the 120hz technology and Samsung's smoothing system (called AMP) to reduce motion judder. In side-by-side viewing, I could see a difference in the picture with those features, and, since the price difference was not much, decided to move up to the 6-series.

Keep in mind that 120hz and AMP are two different things. You can turn AMP off (or set it to low, medium or high); you can't turn off 120hz unless you are in game mode. I like AMP set at low -- to my eye, that improves the picture without making it too smooth and video-like.

Both the 650 and 630 are fantastic TVs, and either one would be a great choice. The major difference between the two is the

Samsung 46" Class 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Wow! Look at that picture. That is what I have been saying in the last 10 days whenever I watch TV, DVD or Blu-ray.

After many visits and online browsing, I was sure my next TV would be a Samsung. Sony was my brand of choice for TV for many years. I chose Samsung for picture quality and value. I was almost sure on the 46A650 until the price gap dropped to less than $100.00 and a chance to view both TV side by side on the same material at my local store. Despite many stated the different between 650 and 750 are extra woofer, saved materials in the 1GB and USB video capability on the 750, I noticed brighter picture, more contrast and more neutral coloring on the 750 compared to the 650. I am assuming both TVs had factory default setting, as in most large retail stores.

Let's get the imperfection out of the way first but those are minor and not deciding factors for most.

Yes, my TV was manufactured on 08/2008 and the "halo effect" is there. I noticed that even on a brightly lighted store.

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Let me start off my saying that this TV is amazing! I was first contemplating on getting the 5 series (Ln52a550) larger screen @ 52" at little bit more in price but lower in specs (i.e. lower contrast ratio and no 120hz). But I decided to go with a 46" in more picture quality than the 52". I am very pleased with my decision! Before I purchased the TV on Amazon, I went to my local Best Buy to look at the picture qualities and compare the various models. Right away, I can notice the deeper blacks and the more vibrant colors produced from this 6 series HDTV. The "ultra clear panel" glossy coat on the screen (similarly to what you see in plasmas) attribute to the more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, which in my opinion really deliver on a great picture. Please note, this might not be ideal for those who can't control the ambient lighting in the room because you might see a little glare. However, this is not a problem for me.

One of my biggest dilemmas was this whole thing on the "120hz"

Samsung 46" Class 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I finally purchased the Samsung LN46A850 after a year plus of research and searching. I had narrowed the search at first between a Sony, Sharp, Samsung, Vizio and Panasonic. I decided to go with Samsung because of the structure of the TV, the features offered and the research (it relate that it was a top of the line brand).

For the details on the TV check http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=lcdtv&model_cd=LN46A850S1FXZA or PDF format http://www.samsung.com/us/system/consumer/product/2008/07/22/ln46a850s1fxza/ln46a850_spec.pdf .

I cannot find an official review on this TV yet - CNET & ZDNET have reviewed the 56" so I guess it could be the same.

There are so many features on this TV; I suggest reading about it and then comparing it if you are not sure. Some features I like are the swivel stand, the headphone, subwoofer/ 10w speakers, the 4hdmi port, slim 1.9" depth and thin LCD with build-in-tuner, auto motion plus 120hz, ultra

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I had waited until now to make the switch to HDTV, obsessing for nearly 2 years about plasma vs LCD vs DLP, size (40/42"? 46"? 50/52"?), and finding the right price-to-quality point. After focusing for a couple weeks on the LN46A630, I finally made the purchase. I'm 100% satisfied.

It has a stunning HD picture. Zero glare/reflection. Lots of settings, accessible from a fairly straight-forward menu. Just the right size for a viewing distance of 8 feet. And definitely the right price compared to others I was considering.

The first thing I watched on it was "Planet Earth" on blu-ray (I got a Sony BD player at the same time). Incredible!!!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I have owned my LN46A630 for two weeks now and could not be happier, in fact I am watching it right now. Set-up was a breeze. I am not an audio/videophile and just wanted a good tv. I considered the 550, the 630 and the 650 series. I went with the 630 largely based on looks. I have several windows to the left of my tv and have had no glare problems whatsoever. Also, the frame has a much smaller profile and you get the added benefit of the 120hz. The Touch of Color seems much more muted compared to the 650 and I like that. I don't have bluray hooked up to it yet so I can't comment on how that looks.

Save yourself the hassle of having to buy HDMI cables by ordering them when you buy the tv. I bought a mid-priced cable set and have been pleased with the picture. I refuse to cough up $120 for a Monster HDMI cable.

I sit about 10' from the tv and the picture size is just right. However, I would recommend stepping up to the 52" if you were any farther than this.

The tv has varied
