Product:  Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX589W 5.1-Channel Theater System (Black)

Great sorround sound and image quality! I'm thinking of buying myself a Bravia, and I just spotted a really good offer for it on bit.ly/3uQcai at wavee, featuring the products at less than $100!!!

Product Review:  Where is the audio?
Posted on Nov 13, 2009 10:54 pm
I had the same problem initially with the sound quality. I was going to return the tv, but after doing some research tried to use some s-video cables and that fixed the issue. The coaxial cables just down provide what we need to use our tv.

Product:  Toshiba REGZA 40RV525U 40-inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Posted on Nov 9, 2009 4:03 pm
ATTENTION!!! I've had this 40RV525U for nearly year and it IS NOT a REGZA! It's a step below a regza. My tv has HDMI problems and the tv has low sound.

Product:  Mitsubishi WD-60737 60-Inch 1080p 120Hz Home Theater DLP HDTV

It did pretty well although there were some issues with video processing and resolution clarity to maximum HD output. But it compensates all the minor weak spots by delivering excellent color, contrast and fine black details.

Hi, I made a litle tool to easaly download your video's and images from your camcorder. I made it for my legria HF200 but it can be used for any camcorder. You don't need to connect your camera, just insert you sd-card in your pc or connect the camera to the PC and download the video's to your PC. You'l need dotnet framework 3.5 to use this software. You can download it at http://users.telenet.be/truyens/

Product:  Sony BRAVIA V Series KDL-40V4100 40 LCD TV - 40 - 1920 x 1080
Posted on Aug 31, 2009 6:56 pm
I was very pleased with this product until the sound and picture started cycling on and off. I was told by Sony it needed a software update and I responded by asking them if it was defective and they said no that it was just a glitch--lol, what's the difference. They suggested a download fix, the repairman suggested a new circuit board was in order. I have the extended warranty and I think a new circuit board is just what the "doctor" ordered also, after all it's only a "glitch".

Same thing happened to me. Try to reset the Player and upgrade the FIRMWARE. Here is the link to reset samsung players. So far so good, it's up and running again.

Product:  Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player
Posted on Jul 9, 2009 2:30 pm
It's true this is a very good player for the money though it does have buggy issues as many have reported. Too bad western digital has not released a firmware version yet to fix these problems. once they do this will be a hard to beat player since it can do ALMOST everything you would want it to do. Seems there are two types now: with and w/o hard drive. those with HDD like the Mediagate or Popcorn hour are a good choice. those w/o hard drives like the WD TV, IOMEGA Screenplay are good too but you have to attach some sort of external usb storage anyway. So choose wisely. If you are looking for something that may be better than the WD TV, search for this: "Mediagate MG-M2TV". this is the newest player from Mediagate which can do everything the WD TV can but actually supports more formats like RMVB (real video) for many Asian videos. so this is one item i'm really looking forward to. hoping the reviews are good on this one.

Films that are shown at 120hz look like video because our brains process images at the equivalent of about 60hz. Film has traditionally had that "dreamy" look because it was shot at 24 frames per second, which introduces motion blur, (many things in life move faster than what 24 frames per second can capture as a still image). I was just looking at this TV and other 120hz models at Best Buy. They were playing clips from "Pirates of the Caribbean and Speed. The picture was razor sharp, but it was TOO sharp. The movies did not look the way they looked in the theatre when they were projected on film at 24 frames per second. The lack of any motion blur was unnatural. In case you're interested, the reason why your computer screen will flicker and you will get headackes if your refresh rate is set below 60 hz is also because your brain processes images at the equivalent of 60hz. Wagon wheels appear to spin in the opposite direction when they are spinning around at the equivalent of 60hz because of this reason, also. As for the TV, I have to go with a 60hz set. I could never watch movies on a 60hz set.

Product:  Toshiba REGZA 40RV525U 40-inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Posted on Jun 6, 2009 4:59 pm
Bought this today at Sams Club, i originally went to get a samsung 40" but for 100 less and 2 inches bigger with the same specs i couldn't resist, the quality compared to higher end models obviously isn't as good but for under 1000 this is one the best HDTV's i have seen, im still tweaking it out but blu-ray/PS3 games look absolutely gorgeous with HDMI and XBOX 360 w/ component.

If you are looking for a TV under 1000,900,800 i highly suggest this, its 42", 1080p great contrast/colors my ONLY complaint are the blacks, they are so black on some scenes you can't see certain things but like i said im tweaking.

very satisfied.
