Great sorround sound and image quality! I'm thinking of buying myself a Bravia, and I just spotted a really good offer for it on bit.ly/3uQcai at wavee, featuring the products at less than $100!!!

Product Review:  FLIP ULTRA HD BATTERY CHARGNG PROBLEMS
Posted on Nov 19, 2009 10:07 am
All...thanks so much for posting these....I had the same problem. I was getting ready to RMA and with all of your notes I am not going to do it. I tried using AA batteries as Flip support told me they would last for weeks....Not so much....AA lasts for 1 hour at best. So I tried regular Duracell rechargeable batteries and they worked like a champ. I also reinserted the Flip battery and now it is charging in my PC ok. One thing I noticed is that the generic wall chargers work the worst. They "overheat" the unit very quickly; so unfortunately I am not going to use it. Good luck.....

Product Review:  Where is the audio?
Posted on Nov 13, 2009 10:54 pm
I had the same problem initially with the sound quality. I was going to return the tv, but after doing some research tried to use some s-video cables and that fixed the issue. The coaxial cables just down provide what we need to use our tv.

Posted on Nov 9, 2009 4:03 pm
ATTENTION!!! I've had this 40RV525U for nearly year and it IS NOT a REGZA! It's a step below a regza. My tv has HDMI problems and the tv has low sound.

Product:  Mitsubishi WD-60737 60-Inch 1080p 120Hz Home Theater DLP HDTV

It did pretty well although there were some issues with video processing and resolution clarity to maximum HD output. But it compensates all the minor weak spots by delivering excellent color, contrast and fine black details.

Hi, I made a litle tool to easaly download your video's and images from your camcorder. I made it for my legria HF200 but it can be used for any camcorder. You don't need to connect your camera, just insert you sd-card in your pc or connect the camera to the PC and download the video's to your PC. You'l need dotnet framework 3.5 to use this software. You can download it at http://users.telenet.be/truyens/

Product:  Samsung PN50B450 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV
Posted on Oct 20, 2009 10:05 pm
I think Plasma is better because you can see images from any angle. However, stay away from the Samsung line because, after less than 30 days, you will get an image burn regardeless if you play games or if you watch regular TV. I speak from experience. I bought Samsung PN50B450 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV because it had the best picture in the Best Buy store for the price. Well, after 20 days, the screen had started to get the burn-in. I called Best Buy, they came out and said they couldn't do anything because Samsung won't authorize a replacement. I called Samsung. Their tech came out and said the same thing. It's written in the warranty that screen Burn-In is not covered. I understand that, but after 20 days? How about repairing the TV? Samsung tech said I'm stuck with the TV and this problem.

I agree that the HD seemsfine but the Virtual CD sucks. I am in the midst of it crashing all the time.

Product:  LG 42LH30 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black
Posted on Sep 8, 2009 6:30 pm
This TV worked for two weeks or so, then it displays a green noisy grid over most of the screen after being on for a few minutes. It doesn't appear to be the screen itself since the display calibration pictures and the screen saver icon are both clear and crisp, but with either the component (DVD) or HDMI (cable box) the display is unviewable. We will be exchanging shortly, and hopefully the replacement will be better. Two open-box/return units on the shelf at best buy is slightly disturbing. Why did they get returned?

Product:  Sony BRAVIA V Series KDL-40V4100 40 LCD TV - 40 - 1920 x 1080
Posted on Aug 31, 2009 6:56 pm
I was very pleased with this product until the sound and picture started cycling on and off. I was told by Sony it needed a software update and I responded by asking them if it was defective and they said no that it was just a glitch--lol, what's the difference. They suggested a download fix, the repairman suggested a new circuit board was in order. I have the extended warranty and I think a new circuit board is just what the "doctor" ordered also, after all it's only a "glitch".

Product Review:  Superb 1080p Picture Quality
Posted on Aug 28, 2009 10:30 pm
Read your very nice review and am interested in possibly purchasing....but why this line:

"I popped the DVD into my Pioneer DVD player and experienced a very high quality picture although it is not 1080i or 1080p quality."

If the camera states that it is "Full HD 1080x1920," why are you claiming it is not?

I am also on Mac. Non-Intel based though. G5 dual PowerPC Sys 10.5.7 which will run iLife 09 and iMovie...supposedly. Do you need an HD version of iMovie?

Thank you.

Product Review:  FLIP ULTRA HD BATTERY CHARGNG PROBLEMS
Posted on Aug 14, 2009 8:03 pm
I have also had the same problems. I purchased one from costco and got the 'I'm too hot' error (my apt gets up to 80 deg, but none of my other equipment has problems). I returned the first one and got another one, but there's the same problem. The flip products have a great design, but their tech support is clueless. They first told me that the device didn't have a heat related error, so I sent them the screen shot of it. Now they want me to RMA it at my own expense. I told I would do it if they paid for the shipping and sent me a replacement, but they didn't go for that. I think the whole HD product line has hardware problems. So now the dilemma is that none of their competitors (sony and kodak) have 2 hours of battery life and storage, so there's nothing I can replace it with. Anyone have any alternative-product suggestions? I need HD and 2 hours of recording time.

Product Review:  FLIP ULTRA HD BATTERY CHARGNG PROBLEMS
Posted on Aug 7, 2009 5:54 pm
e-user001, I have a question about your instructions. When you say "safe eject your camcorder from your computer" I think you mean to use the "safe eject" feature of Windows, but not to physically disconnect the Flip from the USB port. So, when you then say "reconnect your camcorder to your computer", how do you do this? The Flip is already plugged in to the USB port, what more can I do?

I tried the safe eject, but my Flip still seems to cycle between charging and telling me to check the battery pack.
