I accidentally saw the WDTV online, so I did my research, compared prices, looked for local stores carrying it and headed out the door to buy it.
Came back with my little magic box which cost me under $110 including tax.
Hooked it up to my HDTV thru HDMI, connected my WD Passport (which I already owned) and I was set. It's played every file I wanted to play so far: 1080i & 720p M2TS, 1080p & 720p MKV, 1080p MOV, 1080p MP4, VOB, AVI, 1080p WMV, MPEG1, MPEG2, WMA, MP3, FLAC, WAV, JPEG, BMP, and that's all I need it to do.
The only "problem" I found was that it would not read my .srt and .sub subtitle files and I had to convert those to UTF-8 SRT. Luckily that's done in no time and for free with many different programs found online.
The unit is small, well made, good-looking and completely quiet.
Note: This review is truthful, not speculative.

Flip camcorders are perfect for making fast and fun videos that can be uploaded to the web just as easily as you shoot them. This little camcorder is slim and convenient to carry at all times which makes it so much easier to capture those special (or embarrassing!!) moments. This camcorder makes it really easy to upload your videos on to your computer or the web too. You just flip out the USB 2.0 arm and plug it into your computer like a mini external drive. You can then directly upload your video to youtube, myspace or any other video-sharing website without having to transfer it to your computer. Or you can just upload it to your computer. It also comes with video cable to watch your video on a TV which can be a plus on a vacation.
Here's what I like about this camcorder:
-- Takes HD video (720p) in 16:9 ratio, picture is very sharp especially when viewed on a computer screen or LCD TV.
-- Super sleek and easy to carry in a pocket or small purse. Weighs only 3.3 ounces and is 50% slimmer

This USB drive is exactly what I was looking for, large capacity (500 GB), feels durable, compact and light, and simple to use on my Dell or Mac. Requires no electric power, and is so compact that it doesn't feel like I have anything else in my brief bag.
I bought in combination with the rubber skin (Premium Silicone Sleeve Case for Western Digital WD Passport Essential Elements Portable 2.5" Hard Drive - (Hard Drive NOT included!!)) - which added no "bulk" - only protection.
All of my work colleagues loved the combination....
Highest rating!

I bought this computer for my father in law. I chose it because of the huge hard drive for a laptop(250GB), the 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core Processors, and the 17" widescreen and full keyboard (has the numbers to the right). At my house we are a Mac family, but my father in law is 75 and has only known windows so we decided to purchase a pc for him. For the price, we got an awesome computer. It has the same processors as my 20"imac, and for half the price.
The only cons I have with this laptop is that:
(a) it's a pc (we just love macs)
(b) it runs on Vista (at least it's premium edition).
Other than that, if your looking for a lot of computer for a little money, then this is it!
My father in law only uses it to surf the web, check email, and look at pictures of the family we send. So for him, it works out perfect.

I bought this camera in lieu of spending the extra money on a digital SLR. I had several reasons for this, not the least of which being the fact that digital SLRs add so many new features and enhancements to their quality each year while dropping in price. The notion of investing a good $700 or more on something that will be quickly replaced by a much more powerful model within only a year or two just didn't sit well with me. So in my search for something to get me a step up from totally novice point and shoot photography, the superzooms looked like a good option. I will eventually purchase a digital SLR, but my advice to anyone who is uncertain if they're willing to part with that much money just yet is to wait it out. Look at some of the models from only three or four years ago - they offered an average of around 7 or 8 megapixels, lacked features like image stabilization and live view LCD, and cost a few hundred dollars more than today's units. I know that if I had invested a good thousand

I have owned many notebooks including the older version of the EEE, "A big bang for the buck" is what I got with this one. Does as much as most notebooks worth more money. While the pro's are well known, I think it's important to point out some minor con's.
1) Battery life is not 5 hours, no matter how you use it. Best case 3+ hours.
2) The Touch pad comes with additional software, when activated has nice features (to use multi finger motion) but does not work as good on browsers other than IE.
3) Wireless: New networks are beter detected and activated if you use the software utility from hardware manufacture Atheros or Asus.
I would still recomend this Little work horse for is Price design and very minor problems. Good Luck

I bought this as a second Blu-ray player for the bedroom so we could watch our movies in bed. We hooked it up and never got a round to watching a movie for about a week.
I was planning to do the update to enable BD-Live, but never got around to it.
My wife was going to watch a movie (The Queen) and she told me it wasn't playing and the display said No Disc. I told her to try a DVD, but the same thing happened. I got home and experienced the same thing with 3 different Blu-ray movies.
I almost tried doing the firmware update, but I was so mad I just told my self that it shouldn't need to be done to enable the player to do what it was sold to do, play movies. This was quite upsetting. I'm just refunding and waiting on a better player.

I am simply thrilled with this TV! I did a lot of research over a period of many months before making this purchase and it really paid off. I got a great price from Amazon and the product itself is wonderful! Great picture, terrific color, easy to set up and use, great features, very attractive sleek design. It allows you to either go with the standard settings or make all kinds of adjustments to the sound and picture from the easy-to-use menu options. You can customize your settings (and save them) for the various HDMI and other inputs. I ordered it late on a Sunday evening and it was already out for delivery to my home on Wednesday morning. Pilot Air Freight called ahead to make arrangements for whatever delivery time was convenient for me. You choose your own time right down to the half hour, in fact, my deliver person was actually early! They gave me free white gloves delivery with a very friendly, prompt, and careful delivery person. They bring it into the house, unpack it and put

My complaint is with the basic functions of this TV. Why put the manual buttons on the top of the TV? Why no channel return on the remote? When you power on the TV. You stare at a black screen for 10 full seconds then a message comes on that says "please wait" along with spinning arrow as if it is thinking about whether there is a dvd in the player or not. I haven't even tried that. Sharp missed the mark on this one. It's going back-- .

I am returning this otherwise amazing gadget. Form factor, video, and software are excellent. Built in audio makes this practically unusable for me. There is no jack for an external mic. I'll buy the next generation if they port a mic jack.

I was thrilled to find a great deal for a new blue ray player but ended up extremely disappointed with my purchase.
I owned this product for about 4 hours before it stopped working. The firmware update rendered the machine incredibly slow and it refused to play discs faster than one frame per second.
I returned it and got another thinking maybe I had a lemon. So I updated the firmware and the same thing happened.
I contacted Samsung about the issue, and they rudely told me that it was my fault it didn't work because I updated the firmware. At that point it was clear that Samsung customer service reps had no intention of doing anything but blame me for their shabby product's faults. So after my dismal experience with Samsung, I returned the player for a full refund. Now I'm buying a Sony.

I bought this in August and now three months later it is being repaired. It stops playing in the middle of audio CDs. It will not play some standard DVDs. Also, the unit runs very, very, VERY hot! Burnt my arm as lifted it out of the cabinet.

Having researched and purchased this for a present for my daughter I have little time to play with it but what I have so far discovered it is nearly equal to my pricey full size SLR in function and so far picture quality. But for a mid size campact camera with what appears to be an excellent lens(not interchangeable) but with this one, and the average person, you would need nothing else. Most of all it is small enough to carry in a large pocket or purse.

I bought this product specifically to use as a PC monitor and thought I was getting a good deal. $300 for a 1920x1200 resolution.
Well, it turns out the specs listed in amazon are completely wrong!
It's no even consistent if you read the whole thing.
This monitor is only 1680x1050.
So beware! I'm sure the monitor is still a good product but amazon sucked on that one! I called their support and sure, they were willing to let me refund it but I don't really have the time to wait for a new monitor to arrive.

Amazon should really consider only allowing those who actually purchase the product to review it.
Contrary to D. Knapp's inaccurate claim of false advertising(do your research), this unit is indeed capable of High Definition video at 1280x720 and it looks quite stunning, more so than I expected. I was satisfied with the original Flip Mino's video and audio quality. This is icing on the cake.
The software seems to be improved over the original and regular Flip devices. I found it to be much snappier too.
My only gripe is low level lighting situations. It would be nice to see an add on infrared light system or a light accessory attachment. I'm sure battery issues might play a role in the decision to leave that option out though.
If you're like me and only drag your real camcorder out on the holidays, or you always seem to miss those Kodak moments with the kids, the Flip Mino HD is for you!

The FZ28 is one of the best digital cameras I've ever used. It's user friendly, the manual is clear for the more complex functions, it's loaded with features and has an incredible 78x digital zoom (18x optical). I'd been gimping along using an old Olympus for years (although it did its job admirably) and finally buckled to get a new one, because although I prefer using film and a darkroom, my bank account doesn't. After a ton of research, I settled on this camera and I've never regretted it. Normally I'm a bit of a Canon purist, but the Canon equivalent was blown out of the water with this one. I'd recommend it to everyone from beginners to photographers like myself.

After some online research, I got hooked and bought the Asus. It arrived in 4 days. It's the same price as the Acer but is slightly smaller, has a 160G hard drive instead of 120G and has a 4 cell battery instead of 3 cell, giving 5 hours instead of 3 hours of battery life (tested). Other features over the other brands are a matte, not glossy, display, system recovery tools, and a slipcase. Wireless connectivity is transparent and solid. I updated to IE 7 and found that tab browsing is particularly useful on this platform. I have 7 home tabs that open on startup and they load practically immediately. One downside from the Acer is that the webcam is 0.3Mpixels instead of 1.3Mpixels but live video with this is adequate. Should be no problem making a YouTube video with this.
This comes with Windows XP Home which runs about as good as my HP full size laptop. The one noticable performance thing is a slight delay in screen update when quickly scrolling a long, busy web page, due to non-dedicated

I'm not new to netbooks. I started with the Asus 701 just before Thanksgiving 2007. I liked that machine a lot except for two things: the screen, not because of its size but because of its 800x480 resolution, and measley 4GB solid state drive. Asus has the habit of releasing a new model every other week (literally!), but I knew what I wanted, and so I waited. The 900 30G with its 9" screen (8.9" really, as are all 9" netbooks; it's easier to call them 9" than 8.9") and 30 GB hard drive was released early this summer but never reached the U.S. Instead, a few months later, we have the 900HA with its 160 GB hard drive and faster processor. It was worth the wait.
Do you want a 900HA? Maybe, maybe not. There are basically three things to consider: weight, the size of the keyboard, and the configuration of the keyboard.
(1) weight: The 701 weighed about 2lbs. The 900HA weighs about 2lbs 7oz. The 1000H, the next step up, weighs about 3lbs 2oz. I find 2 lbs to be the limit where

I previously owned a Canon ZR930. I bought it for web and other marketing video. It is a great budget, entry level camera, but the resolution is not stellar and the lower light performance is not great, either. I had to return 2 of them before getting a ZR930 that worked--one had a blown mic port and another had a blown Firewire port. Third time was the charm and the ZR930 is a great entry level camera that can be had for less than $300--and it includes a mic port, which is a must.
I upgraded to this camera (Canon VIXIA HV30) after alot of research and I am glad I went with the one I did. I decided on tape because of the flexibility and proven technology and ease of transferring to computer. Hard drive or flash cameras have a pretty fixed recording time. MiniDV tapes can be swapped out for longer recording. I use Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 9 to edit video and together, this is a pretty unbeatable combination. Imports video directly into my computer, and the quality is breathtaking.
