I use StreetPilot Garmin c550 at work...I absolutely love it. When we decided to get a navigation system for my husband, we first got him the Garmin c440 for $169.00. Compared to my c550, it was SLOW! Maps were outdated and it took the system almost five minutes to figure out directions. We sent that one back and got the c550 instead. He LOVES it! Just like mine, this GPS system is perfect. Fast, accurate, and VERY easy to use. I

This unit is only good if you are going to work and home and you would like to see how long it is going to take you because of traffic. It also has a cool search function that works well. BUT if you need to go to three or four places a day like I do THIS IS NOT THE UNIT FOR YOU!!!

As a real estate professional I am frequently traveling to new "uncharted" roads and locations but the C550 always gives me true guidance! This is a definite 5 Star product!

BE AWARE - Garmin advertises the 550 Zumo as providing high quyality MP3 music. They also promote their Bluetooth technology. Be aware that the MP3 quality through the Garmin Bluetooth technology is, at best, very, very poor. In addition, XM radio is NOT available through their Bluetooth. What Garmin does not mention is that to achieve better quality or XM radio, you need to use a wired headset (as well as a $200 separate antenna for XM). In addition, Garmin provides very limited and disappointing factory support for cell phones. Be sure to check their web site for capatibility for your particular cell phone or you may be disappointed to find your bluetooth phone is not supported. At close to $1,000 for this unit, it is simply unacceptable for Garmin to put out this product with these limitations and not disclose these limitations up front. As a navigation unit, it works fine. However, there are much less expensive units available to provide equal or better functionality for GPS.

Glad I purchased one of as a gift for my other half, we took it on vacation and it was just extremely easy to use. Never got lost!! Just Look-up the address and away you go. If you take a wrong turn it will automatically find a different route to get you back on track. Definitely would recommend.TomTom 1S00.080 ONE XL 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator - Map of US and Canada

Mine broke (frozen after startup) 1.5 months after I bought it, right when I went on vacation. After going to www.tomtom.com/support and installing TomTom Home and following THEIR INSTRUCTIONS it still was frozen, so I called customer support and here is what they told me:
1) The instructions on their TomTom Home software is wrong - you must always turn the product off before unplugging it. They made is sound like it is my fault for following their faulty instructions "do you ever unplug your computer before turning it off". By the way - I do and it still continues to work.
2) Even after phone support the product still doesn't work, and the support person tells me that I must charge the product before use for 4 hours, and then continue to do so on a weekly basis, or this product could corrupt itself. And I should charge for exactly 4 hours - not overnight - because the battery could overheat and it would shut itself down.
This device is too fragile to be used as a portable device.

I've had my Garmin 330 for over a year with no problems other than the occasional new routing of roads or (my biggest complaint) points of interests not being there. Checking the map version I realized it was loaded with 2006 maps so I was hoping the 2009 maps would be an improvement.
Well, no problems updating and loading the the new version, but so far I don't see any differences. Defunct businesses are still there and missing places are still missing. I'm talking about places that have been changed for 3 or 4 years. I don't see any changes in the roads either.
Bottom line - definitely buy a Garmin if you're looking for a GPS system but if you have one, don't waste your money on this update.

This bean bag mount is smaller than the similar Bracketron product, which I also bought, and has a superior gripping base. I would definitely recommend this; especially given the price.

I was excited to get this product and ordered 3 copies for work... Unfortunately it looks like Microsoft release a Beta version. Within 20 minutes all 3 copies crashed while driving a 300 mile route together. After rebooting the program continued to crash just after using it for a few minutes... Basically it was useless.
The computers are all brand new top of the line Dell 630D laptop models. The pin point did not work. And the map kept trying to reroute the preplanned route we were trying to drive for testing. Very disappointed. I do not recommend this product. Microsoft needs to do some actual testing before releasing a $300+ program. I want my money back Bill.

If you are like me..you have been researching this product obsessively. I am here to tell you to BUY the 405! I know there are many reviews about the 405 that aren't very good...but here's something that everybody has forgotten to mention: This unit has wireless technology, which means it can be updated. So, yes, there are some quirks Garmin is still working on, BUT they can and have been addressed with the available updates. I LOVE my 405! Like anything you purchase..sometimes things don't work correctly..return it and try again! I really like the Garmin Connect, a feature I didn't think I'd even use. The 405 is soo..much more comfortable to wear than the 305 and the good ole' 101! I am excited to see just how far Garmin will take the 405, Garmin Connect and it's upgrades! The Forerunner just keeps getting better!

This review deals with my problems installing FreshMaps onto my Navigon 2120 GPS. I make no comments as to how the updates worked once finally installed. (I will try to comment, at a later date, on the functionality of the product once I've had time to assess it)
I purchased the Navigon FreshMaps card, and activated the service through the Navigon website by typing in the access code found on the card. So far no problem.
I then attempted to download the FreshMaps that were now available, from a program I'd previously downloaded, called 'Navigon Fresh'. BTW, I believe all downloads from Navigon are now done via the 'Navigon Fresh' program. Having it on my computer would enable me to do the following...
1.) update software.
2.) download FreshMaps and
3.) Make Backups of the my GPS Navigon SD card on my computer.
I connected my GPS to my computer via the correct USB cable and pressed the down load link. A message appears stating there was no MN (My Navigon) software on my SD card. I

I've used the GolfLogix for about 4 rounds. It has surpassed my expectations. The readings are accurate and it even had the correct yardage for an auxiliary hole at a local county course. Excellent product. I've already recommended it to my golfing buddies.

I have owned the Bracketron dash mount for about 4 months now. I have used it in 4 different make cars with my TomTom 1 XLS. It has made a 1200 mile round trip to Ohio, a 4000 mile round trip to Florida and several 350 mile round trips to New Jersey from my home in Southern Maryland. In every case it was easy to find a good place for it, easily removed without leaving any tell tale traces of a GPS in the car and sat right where I put it without ever slipping even a fraction of an inch. If you are going to use a portable GPS, this is a must have.

I've had for one week, and I'm thrilled!! I just wanted distance, pace, and heart rate, and it gives me all of these, plus more! Also, when I get home from my run, it makes nice fancy graphs and records all of my information while I recover!! Its my own little robot :) This price is a STEAL compared to any other vendor. I chose this over a Nike + Sportsband, and the two don't truly compare. Its easy enough for a first time runner, but good enough for one who plans to run for a long, long time!!

After two weeks of side-by-side usage, I've concluded that these watches are targeted at very different markets. Furthermore, in many respects, it seems like neither watch is totally ready for prime-time. Both have nice feature sets, but they each seem to be lacking some very important features to make them truly useful across several sports. The Suunto X9i seems to be targeted and more useful to the climbing crowd, whereas the Garmin Forerunner 405 seems targeted at the fitness/jogging crowd. Neither has the complete feature set that the above-average hiker/trail runner/mountain biker needs. Thus, if you purchase either, you have to accept the compromises inherit in one or the other.
If I was pressed to recommend one over the other, I very hesitantly lean towards the Garmin Forerunner 405 due to smaller size, better battery life, faster GPS synch, slightly better navigation screen and of course, lower price. I'm hesitant because of several important cons which I elaborate on below.

I asked the person who I spoke why there was such a difference in prices from one retailer to another. He told me that the differences where because of the different versions of the machines and that I would not be able to update an older unit with new software.
With this information I bought the unit from 17th Street Photo.
When I called Garmin they told me that there is no different versions and that any updates would be available to me after buying the unit. With this information I could have bought it from another store at a lower price.
I gave my review regarding my purchase, but after finding out from Garmin that there is no difference between years or (versions as I was told) I change my review.
The following day a representative from 17th Street Photo called me asking me to change my review for a 20 dollar refund, I told them that I would have to think about it and to call me back later.
I found this to be insulting and when they called me back I told them that I would not

The Navigon 2100MAX is an EXCELLENT PERFORMER - well thought out and well executed.
An easy User Interface allows you to enter street addresses, for automatic point-to-point navigation - with turn-by-turn Voice guidance, if desired - and tailor a variety of settings to your individual tastes. A massive 'Points Of Interest' database allows it to show accurate locations of Gas Stations, Restaurants, and a whole 'laundry list' of other choices, wherever you travel. I live in an 'off the beaten path' small town, and every detail is well covered here.
Though it comes 'out of the box' quite complete, the Navigon 2100MAX also has Expansion Capabilities for some additional-cost services, for those who later decide they're useful. The first - which I highly recommend over the long term - is "Fresh Maps", a three-year subscription for updates to the Maps and Points Of Interest databases. There are also options to add Zagat Survey restaurant reviews, which would pop up onscreen when you touch

Absolutely superb piece of equipment, at a great price. I had ordered 3 as Christmas gifts for 2008--and decided to break one open for a trip from NC to MD. I had never been close to a GPS in my life, and found it fascinating, and completely accurate. A must have, if you travel at all.
Also, Overstock is SO fast! Thank you.

A poor GPS experience. Poor battery life (max. 3 hours, which makes day long navigation in Europe by mass transit/foot obsolete). Not very accurate - I have found mine to be as much as 150 yards off, which isn't very convenient when you get off on the incorrect exit and it doesn't alert you until it's much too late. You can not mute the voice commands and have to go through the menu settings just to change the volume. Very obnoxious to be on a business call and the voice command interrupts your conversation and you can do nothing. Takes a long time to "boot" up and recognize my new location - as long as >5 minutes. I have also had it tell me I was in a location that was 750 miles away. Kind of tough to navigate somewhere in Atlanta when it tells you you're in Baltimore. England country roads very poor; Venice, Italy navigation impossible. We bought Garmins and TomToms for our employees and have found the TomTom to be a far superior GPS as far as functionality and in each and every side-by-side

We purchased a Garmin C340 Street Pilot to utilize on our recent trip to a remote area in Saskatchewan,Canada.
It indicated even the smallest gravel roads.
We used it right out of the box without bothering to read the directions until our return from a 1,000 mile journey.
The device indicated distance in miles rather than kilometers and the arrival time didn't allow for the fact the province does not utilize daylight savings time.
