An uncomplicated, clean, and easy to use product that will add plenty of great memories to my wife's desk.
Being a Mac user, I'm always looking for products that are simple to use and offer a clean design. The HP DF820A3 digital picture frame meets these requirements. Getting started was a matter of unpacking the product, supplying power, connecting the USB cable to our iMac, launching iPhoto, and exporting the images straight to the DF820A3. How much easier can it get?
Sure there are other products that allow for emailing pictures to your photo frame, or subscribing to a service but these cost extra. The DF820A3 can easily be refreshed by dropping in one of 6 different media cards (Compact Flash, SD Media, USB thumb drive, and others). My wife is able to copy/delete images from either of these sources (or her office computer) using the built-in thumbnail viewer. Want to make it even easier? Simply upload the pictures to our shared .Mac account's

This frame is one of the better ones that can show pics and video at the same time. The frame controls took a little getting used to but, found it better than the tiny remote on other frames. I did a firmware update (the frame's operating software)which i think improved the icons making it easier to understand for the non-techie types. One disappointment was there was no mini-usb cable included in the package, when most other companies include it in theirs; it's just the frame, power adapter, and software. A slight peeve with most digital frames; is the new frames are coming out in the widescreen format (16:9 ratio/ 800 by 480 resolution like this frame) and not fullscreen format (4:3 ratio/ 800 by 600 resolution) which most pics are in anyway. So, with this frame your getting an 8 inch screen but, it displays like a 7 inch screen pic and i apologize for my ranting and raving.
Sidenote : From the Kodak website, their coming out with OLED frames; kinda like LCD but, with more vibrant colours

Recently purchased the camera to take on a race and it performed well; however, I need to read the instructions more to reset the picture taking speed. I was unable to take pictures fast; for some reason I have to hold the button down for a few seconds before the camera takes the picture. I should be able to fix this quite easily.
It is compact and doesn't look cheap and came in protective soft bag.

We have had no problems with the camera. It's thin and lightweight so it's not really bulky if you need to put it in your pocket. We just spent a day at the zoo and the battery held up well for most the day.

I bought one of these about a year ago. Was VERY happy with it...great picture quality, features, resolution, etc.. Note they only come with a 90-day warranty. Guess they don't feel very confident about their own product. Well, the remote stopped working and it's less than a year old. I figured it might need a new lithium battery in the remote, so I carefully tried removing the old one. That's when the cheap plastic battery holder broke. Getting around that problem, it still would not work. I emailed the company. After several tries they emailed me they were sending out a free new replacement remote. That made me happy. After two weeks it never arrived. So I contacted them again. Remember this took several emails on my part, and finally a phone call to someone in tech support (Angel) who assured me a new one had been mailed. That first one had never, of course, been sent. They finally did send out a new replacement remote, it looks different, I'm not sure if it's even the right one. Either

Picture quality is great, images are clear (assuming the photo you are viewing isn't blurry to start!) and colors are rich and accurate. I found this frame easy to use right out of the box, and I like the pan touch feature. I don't need photos to play in order and don't use wi-fi, so those were not issues for me. Price through Amazon is probably the best I found after searching all over the internet. If you are thinking about getting this frame but are still shopping around for price, make sure you check out the specifications. For example, at Costco they sell the frame for a similar price but when you check the specs you will see the frame only has 128 or 256 MB (as opposed to 512 MB) of memory and doesn't have the pan touch feature

I bought this frame to use at work, but soon discovered the fluorescent lights in my office were just too bright for the frame, even though I increased the brightness all the way up. It also is just too small to appreciate at any distance over an arm's length away.
The frame works as advertised, but it just wasn't right for me.

This photo frame isn't perfect, but if you are looking for something to display photos from your Flickr feed, or any other RSS photo stream, even at a less than technically capable relative's house, then this is a very viable option.
It definitely takes some technical know-how to set up, but once it is set up it doesn't need any more interaction. The setup screens on the frame are slightly confusing even for me, and I could write the software on the frame. Specifically, after setting up the wireless network, it searches for a Windows computer to grab photos from, and if that fails the error reads like a Windows computer on the network sharing photos is required. However, just pressing "continue" allows the web server to be started.
The web interface to the frame is kind of useful. It is where you add in RSS feeds, and along with seeing what is currently on the frame is about all you can do from the web interface. That means that you can't do much to the frame remotely.

I bought this item as a gift for my husbands grandmother. It has incredible image quality. The shuffle image and menu's are easy to use, even if you are only a little computer/tech savvy. The only real issue is that the internal memmory of 128 meg is way too small. If you take high quality resolutions images with your digital camera, then it barely holds 40 pictures. I overcame this by installing a 1 Gig Scandisk card, then transfered all images from a USB Thumbdrive onto the Scandisk Card, instead of the internal memory. Of course, I had to type up instructions for the other family members who will be adding photos to the frame prior to sending it to the finaly giftee. In any rate, it is still a great frame, much better than any other I have previously owned/used.

The specs look good on this product but it lacks features that newer generation units include. User interface is complicated. No USB port and limited internal memory. There are far better units out there for the same $$.

i bought this for my mother. She does not have a computer, so I loaded about a Gig of pictures on it of her grandkids. She just plugs it in, turns it on and enjoys the show. Very nice.

This digital picture frame is easy to use. The software is easy to follow, and uploading and deleting photos is a cinch. The image quality is excellent.

I love this frame, didn't know when I purchased it that it will also play the video portion of my memory card. I give it an A+!. My boys love it they bring their memory cards home from the deer lease and check out the wildlife that comes to the field camera. It is very handy and has a very high quality picture. Once again I am very pleased with my purchase, I think the price was really reasonable also.

Pros:
=====
- Overall quality is excellent. Images are smooth.
- Back stand prop is very sturdy, as is the frame itself.
- Very bright and clear. (Has controls for brightness, contrast, contrast, and tint.)
- Remote control is flat and light. Can be stored with ease.
- Has many photo transition options.
- Can display one or four images at a time.
- Can display only one specific image if you want to.
Cons:
=====
- The one bug I've encountered is that (after a month of use) some images of a high resolution with a perfect 4/3 width/height ratio would be resized to something *smaller* than the frame's resolution and were displayed in the center. Basically, my rectangular images would be displayed in the middle of the frame with a ~40 pixel border of unused space. I've only seen this occur once so I haven't experimented with what causes it or how to fix it easily, but I converted all my 4/3 images size to match the exact resolution of the frame (800x600) and they display perfectly fine now.

As usual, after searching for products and checking all possible reviews, finally decided to buy this Kodak M820 attributed to the balance of price and performance.
After opening the box, peel off screen protector, plug in and power it on. While enjoying its introduction show, I download >400 pictures from my picture folder (that I took now and then by Sony W7, Nikon L4, Panasonic LZ7, and Kodak very early digital camera) into a SD card (with some MP3 music files too). It seems that all pictures and motion file taken by those camera are all been play very well with good picture resolution and clear sound. The picture is very bright and the sound is loud enough to be heard in all corner of a 20 x 20 living room.
So far, this frame has done what it supposed to do: showing pictures with some blending of music as bonus. The 800 x 480 resolution is so far the best on the available market with hope-to-be-cheaper price. 8" screen size is visible within reasonable distance, however, buy larger

This is an easy to set up digital frame, for both pictures and movie playing.
I bought this for a 92 year old relative, who was amazed at the clarity of the loaded pictures.
You can easily set up the device to AUTOMATICALLY default to the pictures or movies you have preloaded.
WHAT THIS MEANS...When you switch on the frame it immediately starts the picture show or movie.
This is a great feature for the electronically challenged. It is also very impressive!
Both black and white and colored photos displayed by this digital frame are sharp & clear. The colors are vibrant and true to the picture or movie.
DIGITAL CAMERA USERS:
The picture frame has slots for accessory cards. I removed the 2 gb, SD Card, from my digital Canon camera and placed it into the Picture Frame Reader. We were able to INSTANTLY watch the movies we had just recorded and review the pictures we had just taken.
You can view your pictures and movies on your television by attaching the Picture Frame directly

Overall this frame gets the job done. A quick pro-con list below:
Pros: good image quality, easy to setup and use, plays videos which is a nice bonus, great remote control storage so you don't lose the remote, DEFINITELY a great price.
Cons: No random option for playback (only plays photos in the order storage on the memory card), SD Memory card slot was hard to get the memory card in.
For the price I am very happy with this frame. But if you want a fancy frame with all the bells and whistles this is not the one for you. This is a basic frame with good picture quality for a reasonable price!

This product works well with vivid colors and high resolution (note that these photo frames vary in resolution - the higher the better). The controls are easy to use via the remote. I use the random display function which does not seem to be completely random but still works well. This size frame is best for a desk or end/coffee table. For something placed on a mantle across the room I would recommend a larger size.
