HP FR921UA Pavilion dv4-1120us Entertainment 14.1" Notebook PC
For the price, this computer has a lot, very fast and nice features. The only two poblems with this computer are very anoying, first if you are not used to Vista you'll spend a lot of time trying to find everything compatible with Vista 64-bits, and the second big problem is that there's a problem with the wireless and the audio, you will hear a distorsion every 2 minutes for about 3 or 4 seconds and that sucks.

Samsung BDP2500
I bought the Sony Blueray S350. I loved it with NO complaints, but then the next day I heard about the Samsung 2500 with streaming NetFlix. I love Netflix, so I packed up the Sony and waited for Amazon to send out UPS to pick it up for return. The same day I ordered the Samsung with standard shipping. Amazon said it was to arrive in like 7-10 days. Im not in a hurry, and heck its free shipping and no tax.

I could not belieive it. The next day UPS shows up and delivers the new Samsung, and slaps on the the label and takes the old Sony. Wholly heck Amazon just gave me FREE overnight shipping with no tax. I couldn't beleive it. I check my account to make sure it was standard shipping and it was. Way to go amazon. Back to the comparison.

Again nothing wrong with the Sony. It did have rear connection for audio plug that the samsung did not, but the samsung has optical. Even.

The picture quality for Bluerays and SD Dvd look very good on both. I really couldn't see the difference. The Sony

Lenovo 59-015270 IdeaPad U330-7232UDT 13.3" Notebook
Some of the previous reviews are frankly asinine.

Any objective evaluation of this notebook will show you that this is a state-of-the-art 13.3 inch notebook. It has SWITCHABLE graphics, an LED screen DDR 3 ram, and the latest Centrino 2 processor. On top of that, it weighs under 4.5 pounds, which makes it both lighter AND more powerful (when using ATI graphics instead of the integrated) than the 13.3 inch aluminum Macbooks.

Best of all, because of the switchable GPU, you don't sacrifice battery life to get performance. When you're on the road, use the Intel chipset and you'll get a realistic 4+ hours of wireless usage.

This is without a doubt, the best value proposition in 13.3 inch laptop market.

This isn't to say this notebook is without it's flaws. Ergonomically, this laptop is top-notch quality. The typing experience is far more comfortable than the keyboard on the Macbook and Vaio's. But design wise, this computer is a lot like a business laptop than a sleek sexy consumer

Lenovo 59-015270 IdeaPad U330-7232UDT 13.3" Notebook
first of all, I don't own any Lenovo brand product, but I bought 3 (or 4, depend on your definition) Thinkpads when they were under Lenovo's management. I decide to write this review to shed some lights (or some truth) based on my humble opinion.

1. there is someone pointed out that Lenovo charges too much for this spec. it should be more like 500 dollar or 600 dollar computer. how does that reviewer feel about Sony? Apple? what i'd like to say is there is more to a computer than just CPU, RAM, and HDD. I spend 1800 bought my Compaq notebook with full aluminum top cover while the similar spec DELL cost at most 1200 at that time. I didn't regret a bit as that extra protection really helped that computer survive all my college years with all the dropping and throwing, and it still full functional today after all those abuse unlike my friend's DELL which are out of duty years ago. The same experience made me spend another 2k on a Lenovo thinkpad T61p. I accidentally stepped on my thinkpad

Lenovo 59-015270 IdeaPad U330-7232UDT 13.3" Notebook
I do NOT have this Lenovo U330 Ideapad, but I wanted to balance the negative comment which was made about very bad Lenovo support. I purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 desktop in August and have had some issues with it. I have called Lenovo tech support a few times and have always received prompt and courteous help from English speaking support staff in the US or Canada. One time a Tech spent 75 minutes with me on the phone, patiently walking me through each step to solve my problem. He may not have been the most knowledgeable Tech ever, but he was very personable and helpful. I would definitely buy another Lenovo product.

Samsung BDP2500
Great player, but does have a drawback.

First, it did include the most recent firmware (on cd, had to load it) which gave the netflix logo on splash.

But, it is slow to load blu ray discs. Not all that slow, took about 45 seconds to load Hancock, but could be faster.

Panasonic DMR-EA18K Progressive Scan DVD Recorder
I have a friend in London, England who has one just like this & he recommended. I was excited to see you carried it, so I ordered it at a very good price. I haven't recorded yet but viewing my DVD's in HD is wonderful.

Sharp 19" Class 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV/DVD Combo
This TV is nice looking, compact and light weight, but it has a significant drawback. We brought the TV for use in our kitchen. Since we have no cable outlet in the kitchen, we rely on rabbit ear antennas. We live in an area where over-the-air digital reception is very good. The old analog TV, used with a digital converter box, brought in about 20 digital channels. This new Sharp TV, used in exactly the same location in the kitchen, could not bring in a single digital channel. When we contacted Sharp about the problem, the customer assistance stated the internal receiver was probably too weak. The Sharp internal receiver is definitely weaker than our digital converter box. If you do not have a cable connection, this TV might not be the one for you. We returned it.

Sony Multiformat DVD-R/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW Recorder/VCR Combo with HD Upconversion
I have both recorders and I saw the difference. The Sony: You cannot record movies from movie channels like HBO ect. In the Panasonic yes you can. The record quality is better in the Panasonic. As a costumer that has both I recommend the Panasonic - DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW/RAM Recorder/VCR Combo with Digital tuner than Sony.. My favorite brand is Sony but I was disappointed with this.

Bad quality in recording in 3H (LP), 4H (EP), 6H (SLP), 8H (SEP)recording modes and cannot record movies from movie channels (Copy protected movie). Well now you know. The right choice right now is Panasonic.

Pioneer BonusView Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Output
The Pioneer BDP-51FD is one of the most well built Blu-ray players under $500 you will find in the market. And, with its latest v1.17 firmware virtually all of the bugs have been squashed plus DVD upconversion is now superior even to high end chipsets like Silicon Optix Reon. Pretty amazing what big strides this player has made in a short period of time.

The Wolfsen DACs provide outstanding analog audio and the many A/V tweaks such as the Source Direct feature will keep tweakheads happy for a long time to come.

While this player is not as user-friendly as some of the competition, once you've delved into all of its settings you will find that you can maximize A/V quality in a way not possible with other players.

Highly recommended for the moderately experienced (or expert) home theater enthusiast!! Nothing else in this pricerange comes close.

HP Pavilion dv7-1130us AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core RM-70 2.0GHz Notebook
I bought this computer mainly for the relation price-features, de 4GB Ram and the 17 in display works perfectly for the needs I have, lots of software you're never going to use, Norton Antivirus makes this computer slow so much so I instal the AVG Antivirus, the main complain I have is that I expect that the computer is bronze color but when I receive it it was platinum color, please change the picture or especify that is another color

Sharp 22" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV/DVD Combo
Overall this TV and DVD player is awesome for a bedroom, kid's playroom, kitchen, or small space. The sound quality is excellent, especially for watching movies on the DVD player.

The picture is very good with the non-HDTV channels, while it is near perfect on the HD channels and watching movies on the DVD player, but you can tell it is 720p.

The 22-inch screen is just right for our bedroom. The TV was easy to setup and it makes a great secondary TV in the house. I have a dish so I do not use the remote that came with the TV, but I did notice that on the TV's remote there is no channel return button (???), which is strange. Of course it does have a lot of options for running the DVD player, which my dish's remote does not have.

Also, I have not really noticed much lag time between changing channels. However, when I turn on the TV there is about a 7 to 10 second warm up I guess, because the screen just stays black even though the light is green indicating that the TV is on.

Overall,

Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Upconversion
I'm really glad I waited for this model. Using the 8ch analog outputs it allows me to use my old Yamaha reciever that I really have grown to love the sound from. When on the analog output it gives channel volume adjustments within the player. It also simultaneously outputs optical digital so for the older formats I can let the reciever do the decoding and use the 5.1 features there. The configuration and menu features are great. Load times are fast enough for me. This is my first blu-ray player so I don't have comparisons. The pic quality is fantastic. I'm running mine at 720P as I have a 720P projector, so I can't speak to the 1080P features. For my set up this is a major upgrade. The upconverting to 720P for standard DVDs, mp3 and audio playback are all smooth and great sounding as well.

Samsung 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Just got the TV a few hours ago, and So Far, So Good. The few bad reviews I read mentioned issues with the stand. I had none. Looks great. Sounds great. It has the best simulated surround sound I've ever heard from a TV. It still doesn't compare to true surround sound, but this is for my bedroom so I'm not in a hurry to buy another sound system. I have cable and this thing picks up a few HD channels(Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and maybe one or two more) without a cable box. So far, I'm happy as can be about the tv. I'll update the review if anything negative pops up. As far as the service from Amazon, it was great as usual. I got the tv for $600. It was 750 anywhere else. Free shipping. I ordered it late on a Monday night. It was delivered on Saturday at 330pm. Might have gotten it a day earlier but I always work late on Fridays. UPS shipped it to a company named CEVA in St. Louis. They called me to set up a time to deliver it, then drove over 2 hours south to drop it off.

Toshiba Multiformat DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW Recorder/4-Head Hi-Fi VCR Combo
I bought this unit to copy old VHS tapes over to DVD. I have about 200 VHS tapes to copy and this is my third attempt to find good equipment to do this task with. My first attempt was with separate units, a JVC HR-S5975EK Super VHS Video Recorder (very rare) and a RCA DVR unit. The RCA DVR burned out after about 30 disk and was extremely complicated to operate. It also turned out about as many coasters as it did playable DVD's. MY second was attempt was the RCA DRC8335 DVD Recorder & VCR Combo With Built-In Tuner (THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! This is the sound of me kicking myself in the behind). This unit was so bad it is indescribable. It has a 1 star rating on Amazon.com. Most think it should have a zero star rating. The only thing worse then this unit is RCA customer support, which resulted in me filing a complaint with the BBB, which RCA tried to get removed by lying to the BBB and saying that they had refunded may money when in fact they had never even called me, and a year later

Samsung BDP2500
Blu ray compatibility is great, but given the quality of the upcoding of regular dvds on this unit, not as much a sell as you might think. It's the whole package, that makes the unit worth it, which includes netflix capability. I have watched more streamed movies and other video off of netflix from the unit than bluray discs and am enjoying the flexibility tremendously. The overall quality and performance of the unit is exactly what you would expect from this type of unit. In addition, I bought the unit as the same time as my Samsung 850 series LCD television and the seamless interaction using anynet+ is definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

HP Pavilion dv7-1130us AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core RM-70 2.0GHz Notebook
This laptop offers low-end multimedia as well as gaming capabilities for a very competitive price. I purchased it from Amazon 2 weeks ago and I love it. It comes with an HDMI interface and a remote control. You can hook it up to your HD TV and be able to manage your media remotely. The speakers the graphics performance are on the low end, of course you can always hook it up to external speakers and be able to enjoy the music. I would recommend it for anyone who isn't a sophisticated gamer and an average multimedia user.

Samsung Multiformat DVD-R/-RW/-R DL/+R/+R DL/+RW/RAM Recorder/4-Head Hi-Fi VCR Combo
Actually, well designed and easy to use. Unfortunately, when dubbing tape to DVD which is the only use I put it to, the audio and video are severely out of sync. It's going back to Amazon ASAP. I doubt that Amazon will reimburse me for all the trashed DVD blanks. It also got into some sort of loop finalizing the first DVD I made from a 5 hour tape. After 30+ minutes of finalizing, I had to unplug it to stop it. Caveat emptor.

Samsung BDP2500
I decided not to skimp and not buy one of the "cheapo" entry level bluray players after hearing how slow most were and also how most were stripped of inputs and other functions. After doing alot of research, talking with a friend who bought this bluray player, and after trying out several units in the stores themselves, i decided that the Samsung BD-P2500 was the best Bluray player features/quality vs. cost and i've been extremely happy with the player since the day i picked it up.Not only is the color, picture, dvd upscaling better than most other bluray players, it blows away the new Sony BD350 AND BD550.

One piece of advice. The BD-P2500 IS NOT for the novice or someone that doesn't want to spend the extra money(over a bargain/starter bluray player)for a Home Theater quality, profile 2.0 Bluray player. It has ALOT of features that require some learning to get to know how to use(
like the ability to upgrade the firmware with a usb 2.0 memory stick and pc.

Sony RDR-GX360 DVD Recorder
Also purchased in August 2008 via a different retailer, but the problem of FREEZING while watching a DVD must be a design FLAW since it did the same thing on my player. Unfortunately, I did not save my receipt and am stuck with this in-operable DVD player. Shame really, usually you can rely on "Sony" but not this time. Buyer Beware.
