This laptop was purchased as a gift and was not refurbished, but arrived with no owner's manual, no quick setup guide and no "official" looking packaging. The laptop itself seems to work well, but the new owner is not comfortable trying to figure everything out for herself. We were able to download the manual online, and print it out, which was more than a little cumbersome, but it was not the experience I had expected overall.

Overall very pleased with the purchase. Great laptop for what I needed it for and saved probably $300-400 on buying a newer model retail. My old laptop crashed and this was a great way to replace and upgrade rather than repair or buy retail. Took over 7 days to receive. Came with a 120 GB 5400 rpm v's the advertised as 160 GB 7200 rpm however Customer Service resolved this for me as soon as I called. That impressed me as a first time Overstocked shopper. Disappointed it didn't come with Dell recovery partition installed or disk.

Excellent laptop at a great price. Fast shipping and well packaged.. I am very pleased with the entire transaction. I look forward to buying from Overstock.com in the future.

We love this laptop. It works great. So much better than our standard desktop. The only problem that we encountered was that it arrived without a manual. I contacted customer service immediately. I was told that a new one would arrive in 5 - 10 business days. It arrived alright,in another state!. This time I called the 800 number. The first rep that I spoke to said that "someone really messed up!" He connected me with the parts department. This rep didn't know what happened either, especially since he was one of the online reps who replied to me. I just received my manual today,8/12. I received my computer around July 13. Hopefully this does not happen to anyone else. Needless to say it has been quite frustrating . The price was a fantastic deal. You couldn't find a better deal anywhere else. We saved over $300. Other than the problem with the missing manual, I highly recommend this computer. Also the customer service representatives were extremely helpful!!!!

After using this Mac Pro for a few months now having come over from the PC world, here's my initial impressions:
First and foremost, it's a BARGAIN! There's no way I could build a PC to these specs for the price I paid for this last-years model Quad-core Xeon. Please don't think about comparing it to a Core2Quad system.... it isn't one. This is a professional-class heavy duty Workstation, and if you don't know the difference, you probably won't buy one.
To keep the price low, Apple gives us only 1GB memory, a smaller Hard Drive and a relatively weak Video Card. These are easily upgraded when convenient. I've got 8GB iRAM, 4 HDDs and a hand-me-down ATI HD2600 from a 2008 8-core in mine.
Leopard has been easy to learn and very stable for me. It's not as pretty as Vista, but is far more useful and secure. Fortunately, my video editing software has a Mac version that runs well on Leopard.
Boot Camp works well for me with one exception: Windows only seems to work with the front-panel

I really like my new dell inspiron laptop., It is working great, and it is a lot better than i thought it would be. Everything is already there and ready to use, and it will tell you how to do things, for someone like me , this is my first laptop. And i love it.

This review will be very short as it only concerns the choice of display. You have the option of buying a glossy or a standard display, and there is a big difference. The colors on the glossy display are outstanding and if your primary goal is to look are photographs, glossy may be your best choice. But glossy displays reflect light from the room, and many people (including me) get headaches if they use the notebook for a few hours in a well-lit room. In contrast, the macbook with the standard display has excellent color but the blacks are not as black and the whites are not quite as white. I have both, and vastly prefer the standard display when I have a lot of work to do. I will never get a glossy display again and unless you know what you are doing, I strongly recommend you avoid a glossy screen as well.

This is the second Dell I bought in the last week. Both worked great and getting started was simple. The computers almost register themselves for the warranty service, and the there is nothing to do but plug in the printer an turn the machine one.

We looked around for a while and found that over stock had the best overall price. I bought the computer for my Husband who had not used computers to much inthe past. He has found it to be an easy computer for him to learn on. At this point I have nothing negative to say about this product. However the shipping took a little longer than what it was said to take. Other than that were enjoying the computer this far.

As much as i dont like vista this lap top was a steal. The price was substantially lower then i would have paid at the manufacturers web site or any other retail site for a computer with comperable horse power. Lots of RAM and the dual core means it never freezes and it shows no sign problems. Great buy all the way around.

This is a great laptop!!!!! The only problem is I am having some difficulty in the transfer of warranty which is an issue with dell. Overall I have had no complaints with the computer my sister is downloading a storm and using it for general purpose and this laptop out performs her old computer any day of the week. I am greatly satified and would readly recommend it to all my friends and family!!!!!

Bought this computer for my husband--concerned at converting our Windows XP life to Vista but that has gone well. Had to buy a new printer, too, but he needed one anyway so that was OK. Concerned about 'refurbished' but have only had the computer a few weeks and it is perfect so far. Price was great, features were what we wanted. It's all good!

Love my new laptop. I am writing this review on it now. The only thing I was disappointed with is the length of time I get from the battery. I thought it would be longer considering the type. Other than that, it's great.

I just purchased the MacBook Pro from Amazon and I am COMPLETELY satisfied!
There is no better computer or a better place to buy it.
This computer has everything I need...and more! It looks great and works like a gem. If you are a graphics person, there is no better computer.

The MacBook Pro is great, looks great and works well. The only thing is the new operating system wasn't loaded to the laptop but the disk was included. Other than that, everything is great. Love it.

Hello, this is actually my first review I have ever written. I am taking the time to write one because when I was reading reviews about this laptop there were some things that I was wondering about that I did not find in reviews. So, I will try to address the same questions that you might have that I had before I purchased this laptop. First, I have to tell you some things about my dv9700t. I purchased this laptop through the HP website. I recieved the computer within a week of purchasing it which was 2 weeks earlier than expected(shipped from China).
My specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 2.5 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache.
High-Definition Ultra Brightview Widescreen Display
3G of Ram
512 NVIVIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics Card.
320GB(160 x 2) SATA harddrives at 5400 RPM. HD DVD Drive
Windows Vista Home Premium.
This labtop costed $1600. This was my first PC that I have purchased through HP. I have previous owned a Gateway and I have worked with Dells laptops. I must say that

I bought this system in July of 2006 for personal use. The doctor's office I lived over had wi-fi and he let us use it but my husband's laptop was the only computer we had, so when he was gone I was S.O.L. I have used it daily since then and when we moved to a house I set up my own wireless network. The only problem I had was I have had to replace the hard drive already. It was not a virus, it just evaporated but I was still under warranty so Dell sent me a factory refurbished one and I spent a couple of hours on the phone with tech support setting it up (very friendly guy, walked me through step-by-step). I was admittedly not good at backing up my hard drive so I lost a lot of music and picture files. I am better about it since then. I am disappointed it does not come with Microsoft Office suite. It has Word, but for spreadsheets I have to use Microsoft Works, which is fine for my own files but I had to download an Excel reader to view files sent to me by others. I have not had any performance
