Nintendo DS Lite Green Spring Bundle w/Personal Trainer: Cooking
+ 0 likes
I had been wanting a Nintendo DS for a while but kept putting it off until I came across this bundle! I really wanted the cooking game and the cute matching carrying case was such a bonus! I love the color of this DS! The cooking game is so much fun and I've had great success with the recipes I've tried! The game is well thought out and easy to use, the same with the DS itself! It charges quickly and holds the charge for a long time! The low battery indicator gives you plenty of fair warning before you have to recharge which I love just in case you are in the middle of a game you don't want to stop! The case seems to be pretty well made, it's withstood the abuse I've given it and protects the unit very well! The color hasn't faded and I don't notice normal wear and tear with it. Another hit for Nintendo and especially Best Buy for this bundle package! No complaints and no regrets purchasing!

Dragon Ball: Attack of the Saiyans
I read another review for this game before deciding to put my two cents in. First of all, if you can't like this game because of a Crystal Ball, because it's against your religious beliefs, then you shouldn't be watching Dragon Ball Z in the first place. The show is, afterall, fiction. I personally like this game. It fills in some gaps from the show where you wonder, "Hey, what was everyone doing?" in the year that it took the Saiyans to get to Earth after Raditz died. I've always hoped they'd make a RPG for DBZ, where it didn't always need to have buttons being bashed to get combos. This takes a little more thought, as it is a turn based game. I only wished that they had just went for the whole Dragon Ball universe, but hopefully they'll continue on with this spirit and make the rest of the Sagas in this way.

For a DS game the online matchs are really good. It supports 6 players and the moves at a very good speed. The graphics are good for a DS game but not the best that has been seen on the system. The controls are simple and very easy to learn. The game is the best DS shooter and will be for awhile.

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

If you love turn-based strategy games like Civilization, then Civilization Revolution on the DS is right for you. It's a simplified version of Civilization IV that works just right on the DS. Controls are simple and it can be a lot of fun to conquer your neighbors in a short amount of time. The only dislike is that it seems to create multiple continents/islands, which can make for a long game when you're trying for a quick domination victory. An experienced Civilization player may have a bit of trouble, since building bonuses may be different from what they expect, but similar enough to use the same strategies.

This is amazing, a new, better update of the Phantasy Star Online formula. They have added a lot, and I was shocked they were able to do so much for a DS game, but they really pulled it off. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a new Phantasy Star Online on consoles in the future.

Two things cinched this for me... The return of the original character classes from PSO, and MAGS! The tried and true addictive gameplay, free online play, cross-connectivity with Japanese gamers, and new, easy to use visual chat, were just bonuses. It's almost as if Yuji Naka came back. I like the new charge attacks, and the fact that you can switch from normal to heavy techs by holding the button down longer. Speaking of techs, I'm glad to see real force characters make their return. PSU ruined forces with a dependency on weapons to cast them. Yes, my friends. This is a true sequel to PSO. It just feels... right. The only thing that nags this ol' Phan is that with a game this good, you really want to play it in comfort in front of the TV. I'd really love some kind of a cable that would allow it, or a kind of 'Echoes of time' port. Better yet, a stand-alone Wii version. As it its, I can't see this cart ever leaving my DSi. At least not until I pop it into the DS XL. If

This is the best Call of Duty or Shooter for the DS. The single player is just as good as last years World at War but the online has been improve. It can support up to 6 players online and for a DS game is pretty good. The controls are different but doesn't take long to get used too. This is a great buy for a handheld game. A+ title.

DS Lite Universal Game Max - Cobalt Blue

I bought this bag along with a brand new DS for my son's 6th birthday. He is very diligent about keeping all the items (games, charger, game unit etc) together in one bag. However, I have "eaten" approximately $100-$120 in games due to a design flaw in this bag. The slots for each individual game are on the underside of the lid, which zips on both sides and not the bottom, leaving it open on the bottom, a space just large enough for the games to slip out of when the come out of their individual slots. And they will. They are not securely held in the slots at all and slip loose VERY easily, losing the games in places like the restaurants, street curbs (found the next day) and the depths of the couch. This is NOT RECOMMENDED at all. I've lost money in losing those games, something that even the most responsible child, nor adult, could prevent.

Phantasy Star 0

This game is FANTASTIC. I'm a fan of the classic 2D Phantasy Star games and the online series. I even have my fair share of experience in the Phantasy Star Universe. PSZ offers 14 character types 350 new weapons/items and has a gameplay style much more similar to PSO rather than PSU. It has 7 areas, and the offline story mode can be played from 3 different perspectives so that gives it some replay value. According to SEGA there's a total of apx 60 hours of offline gameplay if you play all three perspectives (races). Online gameplay is great, and can lead to countless hours of Phantasy Star goodness. You can play in a random group of people (that meet ur search criteria) or with friends, you can even play online quests alone if you like. The story is intriguing enough, I don't want to give any of it away though, you need to experience it for yourself. The game does a great job of capturing the classic feel of PSO, while still maintaining some of the newer stuff from PSU. Graphically it has

Hidden Mysteries: Titanic - Secrets of the Fateful Voyage
+ 0 likes
Nice low key game for winding down- especially interesting for anyone who is fond of Titanic material. The "puzzles" are not challenging like other games that leave you wanting to throw the system out the window. Once you get past the annoying first bird "puzzle" it's smooth sailing. Interesting story line that allows you to choose how to respond which elicits different responses from other characters in the game. I may play it again as an antagonist just to see if there is a different outcome. The music score is poor in my opinion and whoever put together the sound on this game did a poor job. When your character speaks, you cannot hear her unless you quickly turn the volume WAY up. The game is also WAY too short and can be completed in a matter of hours. Not for hard core gamers or those seeking a challenge like Professor Layton (one of my personal favorites!). Nice choice for casual gamers or Titanic fans looking for a short but simple, non brain-draining escape from reality.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers Collector's Edition with NAGA Collector Bakugan Ball
+ 0 likes
I gave my daughter this game for her birthday, and pre-ordered this just in time. The cartridge is accompanied by a Special Collector's Edition Figure Naga with a Gate Card. The premise of the game is just like the one with action figures, Gate Cards, and Special Ability Cards. You work on customizing your character based upon their looks and clothing. One limitation of the game is that you can only create one character at a time. You can progress in Story Mode by participating in battles, where you win points to upgrade your Bakugan, get additional Bakugan and get Gate/Ability Cards. The graphics are above average for the DS platform. Game play, if you're a Bakugan Fan, is enjoyable. You choose which cards to play and then roll your Bakugan in the arena to collect G-Power and Additional Points before you land on a Gate Card. When the opponent rolls and lands onto the same Gate Card, the battle begins. As opposed to the figurine/card game where battles are won based upon point

Jewel Master: Egypt

As the other reviewer pointed out, this is a sequel to Cradle of Rome. The game structure is all but identical, and the number of levels is the same. They seem to have made the game tougher (not that Cradle of Rome is easy!) by slightly reducing the time limit and adding the provision that a scarab icon must be maneuvered off the screen after it is cleared. I have gotten through 19 of the 100 levels and am beginning to have difficulties, but (in both games) the varying sets of jewels one receives on retrying a level greatly considerably lowers the frustration level. The music has improved considerably from Cradle of Rome. Both games are highly recommended for Tetris-family gamers.

Humans

OK, first off, this is NOT an RPG game, yea, I thought it was! duhh! lol, It's a timed, puzzle type game! You have to get thru each level within a certain amount of time and acheive 3 different goals! When I first spotted this game while browsing thru Amazon, a friend said to me, that looks stupid, thinking it was an RPG type game. Well, I can tell you, it is NOT stupid, it is actually quite difficult. When jumping your Human over cliffs, you have to jump from the very edge or he will most deffinately fall and ... yep, die! I've yet to figure out the concept of killing that darn dinosaur, you have to move the control pad left and right quickly several times. You also get to interact with weapons, club, spear, rocks and other objects like rope, wheel, torch. When you can't reach higher ground you stack your humans making a "human ladder". You start each level with 5 humans, each having 100 health points, when your human loses all his health points, he dies, if you lose all 5 humans you failed

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

I have only played it a couple of times since its arrival, and while it is not anywhere close to the complexity and challenge of the original PC version, it is nice to have something resembling the original for on-the-go gaming on the DS. Purists will miss some of the PC game's advanced features, such as Worker Actions and Terrain Improvements as well as the lack of several Research Options, Unit Types, Great Wonders and City Improvements. Also, it seems as if the AI is not nearly as agressive as in the PC game at the higher levels. Combat is still enjoyable, though, even more so with the cheesy combat graphics and some new 'skills' awarded to Veteran and Elite units after a pre-determined number of successful battles. All-in-all, if you just have to have a Civ fix when you are not near your PC, or don't have the time to play a full PC campaign, this game does enough to get you by.
