player is easy to clean with a soft cloth (like those glasses ones). When it comes to the design, I like the View over the iPod because the back of the View is a very comfortable soft rubber grip that doesn't attract ugly fingerprints and isn't cold to the touch, and the menu wheel actually turns, which just feels good when you use it (you'll understand...)

When it comes to their interface, I'd say they're very much alike. The menus are self explanatory, and both have their pros and cons about their menus. One notable thing about the View is that you can choose your background color on the View's menu screen, which to me isn't very important, but when I'm bored it's one more thing for me to play with.

Now, the controls. After using the iPod for so long, it took a bit of time to adjust to the View. For example, when using the iPod, you simply press the up key to go back one step in the menu no matter what you are doing, but whenever I press the up key while something is playing on the View, it will play/pause it. If you press left or right on either players, it will go backward or forward in the track list. So then that leaves the down button, which on the iPod pauses or plays what you are playing, and on the View gives you the song/video/photo menu (it adjusts to whatever you're doing) and from there you are able to get back to the music list. What will really spin your head about the View though is that when you're not on the "now playing" screen, you use the left/right buttons to navigate the menus...so it keeps your mind sharp. So sometimes, it's one more click than necessary to navigate the View, but once you're used to it, there really is no difference. Plus, whenever I'm lost in the controls, I simply hit the handy home button and start over again.

One cool feature from the View which doesn't exist on the iPod is its voice recording. I am in college and I use this feature to record lectures, or simply to punk friends. The sound quality from the recording is amazing, and unlike other recorders, it doesn't alter the voice being recorded. For me, voice recording and radio are the most used applications on my View, and maybe that's because I've never had an mp3 player with those options. Whenever I'm like "darn, why do I love all the songs on my View? I want something to compare it to so I don't get used to all this good music", I simply switch to the radio.

But one thing about these players' battery is that it all depends on your luck or willingness to ask. Lithium Ion Batteries will die when its time comes, so when you purchase one, you can rely on luck to get a fresh battery, or you can ask them how long this player has been sitting on the shelf. Of course, if you're buying from Amazon, you won't have that option. Therefore, I bought my player from Best Buy.

Plug your View into the computer (be sure you switch its USB mode to MSC, or it won't let you do anything but charge), and drag and drop your files into the correct folder. I almost cried (in joy) at its simplicity and how much time this feature has saved me. Also, one very good feature in the View is its ability to delete songs from the player itself. So if you decide that you've outgrown one of your songs and you never want to hear it on your View again, you don't have to go to the computer to delete it, you can do it right then and there wherever you are.

Other stuff:
The View will bookmark your podcasts and audiobooks as long as if you don't switch to another podcast or audiobook in between pausing it and going back to it. There is also video bookmarking.
For the best sound quality, I strongly recommend you adjust the EQ settings and get new earbuds.

The small size might be a problem for a large-handed individual, but it fits my medium sized paws to a T. The 10.2 megapixels, large ISO range, 3 metering methods, multiple shooting modes and huge range of Nikon accessories and Nikkor lenses make this a great platform for the beginning dslr user as well as the more experienced. And the price at Amazon with both DX VR lenses is a great deal.

One more thing. The manual from Nikon is thorough, but not well organized or illustrated. Because of that, I recommend that you also buy the "Nikon D60 (Focal Digital Camera Guides)" by Corey Hilz. It's far better organized and illustrated, has a great quick start section that will get you up and photographing in just a few minutes and has great tips and techniques from Corey, who is a great photo pro and shows how to use all of the great features this camera has. Well worth the current $13.57 price tag on Amazon and can be found here:

no problem when the PC is ON. Keep that in mind. If you don't want to always have the PC on to change the player, then get the Belkin changing kit. It's cheap, and you'll get a car charger along with an AC adapter.

I paid about $115 for my player brand new. I see that "Like New" units are going for $70, and unless there is some defect in the unit that you get. I would consider that price as a "steal." I like my player, and knowing that I can add more memory makes it even more of a value. SanDisk will always get my vote for a job well done!

no problem when the PC is ON. Keep that in mind. If you don't want to always have the PC on to change the player, then get the Belkin changing kit. It's cheap, and you'll get a car charger along with an AC adapter.

Nikon D80 Digital SLR Camera - 10.2 Megapixel - 2.5 Active Matrix TFT Color LCD

with my purchase. When I look at the D80 and then other cameras, it just has so many features on it that I cannot drum up any buyer's remorse. I am a novice DSLR user and I know that I haven't even reached the tip of the ice berg on using this camera in the myriad ways it can be used.

I wanted to buy a camera that would be quality, that would be sturdy, that would complement a novice DSLR user and would allow me to grow with it as I became more aware of its features. I recently took a trip to LA and I took over a thousand pictures. Even on auto mode, the quality of the pictures was absurdly high. Once I stopped babying the camera (keeping the lens off and the camera safely in its camera bag) and started just bringing it with me (throwing it over my shoulder or in my tote bag), I started to have a lot of fun with it.

Bottom line is that I researched a lot of cameras and read a lot of reviews before buying this camera. There are merits to buying different cameras but I am not disappointed with my purchase at all. To those who are novices like me, I truly feel that this is a camera that you can use point and shoot OR to learn on to take artistic shots. I hope that this review helped you. Good luck!

Oh one last thing...I ended up buying the 18-55mm VR (Vibration Reduction) lens separately. I highly recommend this lens. The 18-135mm lens that comes with the kit is good and allows you to get pretty close to subjects far away and so I appreciate that it came with the camera body as a package...BUT the VR in the 18-55mm really does make a difference when quickly shooting things you don't want to miss. I have a bunny and three cats. When they are up to something, it helps to have VR so as not to get a blurred shot. This has come in handy for night shots too when I don't want a flash. Just thought I'd add that tidbit (I don't even take this lens off of the camera, I use it so often).

Nikon 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black

know anything about photography like what is ISO, Exposure etc.. it kept explaining everything in the menu and I'm here now buying the new D90 waiting for this babe to arrive.

Nikon makes the photography impossible to resist everyone this camera is worth every penny now i watch videos on You Tube and trying to learn and I'm buying bunch of lenses which costs me over $5000, it's hilarious actually, but i loved photography i keep taking shots for everything and i have like 700 GB hard disk full of pictures shot with my D60.

Please If you can afford it buy any lens than the one included the recommended is the 18-200 Nikon lens much better and have a very deep zoom and buy the 50 mm Nikon lens it's awesome for portraits shots and very very sharp. I can't believe my self talking about lenses and cameras but it's worth it i loved and you'll love it.. Good Luck with your D60 ;)

P.S. I uploaded some images i shot with my D60 you'll find it in the customer images section but beware that pictures quality are much better than what you see here in amazon because amazon crops and compress the picture very bad which ruin everything in the picture.
