This is the first GPS unit I have ever owned, and for the most part, I love it. It's easy to enter in new addresses, save addresses for future reference, recall saved addresses, etc. One of the first things I did was go into preferences and change a few things, like the POI filter (I change this often depending on if I'm just trying to find a shorter way to get to point A or if I'm going out of town, etc.). There are A LOT of POIs to choose from. Another thing you may want to change is the volume of the speaker. I tend to listen to loud music so I have mine on the loudest, which people on my cell complain about, but it's not like there's a volume control on the outside of the unit that I can just turn down if I get a call.
I have a Bluetooth but hardly ever use it so that is one feature I can not speak on.
I like that the colors adjust automatically for night driving since I don't want any cops thinking I have a small TV in the front seat, which is illegal in CT.

Although i've only had this up and running for a few days, it is exactly what i was looking for. The price was perfect, and the 320 gigs were more than my desktop initially came with (200). Using it is a breeze, just basic drag and drop for transfers or save as for new files. Really quite a breeze. I can't say how it'll hold up long term, but so far so good!

The only thing I needed was the install info from Western Digital that showed me the jumper settings for slave or master.Be sure to use the ones from your old drive as this one didn't have them. I installed the drive and easily installed the operateing system. It really fit my need to get a older PC up and running without spending a fortune on a bigger drive I didn't need.

I bought this to replace a bad drive in a Buffalo RAID device. I identified which drive was bad, removed the bad one, installed the new drive, and waited for the box to copy information to the new drive. Completely painless.

I bought 3 of these drives for 3 different computers. They all work just fine though one of them has very loud motor noise / whine. All of them had various dents and dings like someone tossed them in a box, droped them , etc. This did not happen in shipping as they were padded and packed very well. In my opinion these were working pulls from machines that were stripped for disposal or they were from machines being upgraded to larger drives. They aren't pretty so if you are looking for pristine product you'll be disappointed. If you are shopping price and just want a drive that works and gets the job done I think these are an excellent value.

Best I can say is it was easy to install, Very noisy like my old one just before it failed. Kept getting the occasional blue screen with check hard ware notification. $10.00 plus to return, might as well not bother. You get what you pay for. . .

While this drive is great if you want to add a spare drive to your system for backups, etc., you have to remember one thing - if this drive is plugged in and turned on when you press the power button, your system won't boot. I've tried it on four different computers (different manufacturers, BIOS, etc.) and none of them will POST successfully if this drive is connected and on. If you want to use it as a system drive, look elsewhere.

I build computers as a hobby. Why pay for someone else to build one (one size fits does not fit all) when building your own is not too difficult and you can build with quality parts tailored to your own specific needs. Case in point, the WD 640GB HDD. Large hard drive prices are economical right now. Generally speaking, the larger the drive, the less the cost per gigabyte (GB). At Amazon's prices the WD 640GB drive was about $10 bucks more than the WD Caviar 16 320 GB drive with the same cache. Western Digital has recently color coded their drives: Black (high performance), Blue (mainstream) and Green (no brainer: ecologically friendly-for a hard drive). Where does marketing get these ideas? The Caviar 16 640GB falls into the Blue category. It is amazingly fast and quiet, thanks to its 16 MB cache and 3 Gb/s transfer rate. The technology is interesting in that WD utilized two 320GB platters which gives this drive an edge as compared to say 750 GB drives with similar cache size.

I was a little concerned about the small size of the unit since I was used to a larger screen. However, it has not been a problem at all. It is very user friendly and gets the job done!

I have been using the Maestro 3250 for almost 5 months and think it is an excellent unit. It is not without it shortcomings but mostly works as it should.
The routing algorithm isn't perfect but most of the time does the job. My main issue is that when calculating the fastest route (as opposed to shortest route). I have noticed sometimes it thinks certain city streets are fastest than normal city street even if the distance change is pretty major. The re-route ability if I miss a turn works fine and the location tracking isn't always exact but close enough.
The Speech Recognition works great, when it works. I love the fact that while I am driving I can say "Magellan" then search for nearby restaurants or gas stations handfree. The only problem I have is occasionally the voice recongnition doesn't work, no matter how loud, soft, or clearly enunciated my speech.
Bluetooth works. I have a Motorola RAZR and it works, however I always get the error when pairing due to a failure

I didn't expect this fan to make such a significant difference inside of my Thermaltake Armor case. I had a Zalman 9700 cpu fan and it already kept the CPU temperature cooled. However, my motherboard temperature constantly was at 40-45C idle and creeping higher as load increases. It made me uncomfortable so I had to try a case fan hoping for some kind of help to keep the temperature from rising too fast. I've bought this hard drive fan instead since it fits perfectly into my case and I had enough free slots in front. I also reallocated 1 hard drive to this cage. The results was unexpected. Instantly I experience a drop of 10 degrees celsius and temperature don't rise as fast for my motherboard readings. Below are some results I've gotten:
Temperatures when idle; with their before and after numbers separated with a "/".
CPU: 24-31C / 20-24C
Motherboard: 40-45C / 30-35C
Temperatures with load; with their before and after numbers separated with a "/".
CPU: 30C-35C / 24-27C

Not as good as my old Magellan. Constantly rerouting while driving. Difficult to get to turn on sometimes. Am not sure if I'm going to keep it or send it back. My old one never gave me a lick of trouble, just wanted to update. Wish I hadn't.

I always use Western Digital hard drives. They have never crashed or quit working as some other brands have. Never a problem installing or understanding the directions in the box. The 320gb sized drive is just the right amount of storeage space, not too big and not too little. Very pleased with this drive.

We purchased this unit for our son,who loved it. Then it started to 'freeze' up. We contacted customer service via e-mail...several days later they replied....told us to push the re-set button. No kidding! E-mailed back(the way you need to correspond with them is very annoying)told them that the re-set button does not fix the problem. They e-mailed back that we should send them our information and they would send us a return authorization #. We sent all the information to them....never heard from them again. 2 weeks went by...decided to call. Big mistake! Over an hour on the phone, being switched from 'department' to department...having to give the same information over and over again. (How many times can you spell your name!) Finally after an hour on the phone,I was given a Repair authorization #. That's right, they are going to repair the defective brand new unit, not replace it. I sincerely hope I never have to call customer service again.

I like this case because it is just the right size to fit my Nuvi 200 GPS. It's great because its kind of hard so the screen won't get crushed. I highly recommend it!

I bought it for my daughter as a gift, and she LOVES it! It allows for audible communication between it and the driver, and it's so easy. I have one that's a different brand and is supposed to be the "top of the line," but her's is better! It also has bluetooth capability so there is no problem talking on the phone and paying attention to driving. We would both highly recommend this product.

First, I bought the 405 because I did not want to fool around with a hard drive (the 405 has a 2GB internal flash drive and an SD slot for adding memory) and I did not want to fool around with wifi. Hard drives that get moved around alot break and wifi for small devices tends to be unreliable.
That said, so far (one week) I'm very satisfied with this player. The screen (3.5") is easy to read. I use Microsoft Explorer to click-and-drag music files (whole albums and individual songs) onto the flash drive. You can sync with Windows Media Player, but it seems like an unnecessary hassle.
I understand the complaints of the other reviewers. The advertised DVR should work. But, unfortunately, the more complicated inexpensive electronics get the more likely they'll disappoint.
I also bought the mini dock...it allows you to plug the thing into the wall outlet to charge, you can hook up an external portable hard drive to hold more files, and you can patch out the picture on the screen to

I really like the AAA features that give me the names & phone numbers of places. I like the slim feature of it that it fits comfortly in pocket. I've use it on several occaions traveling & it was great. Got me right to where i had to be.
