I got a G11 after using a Canon A610 for 8 years (it finally developed a small flaw on the CCD). I am a fairly "rough" camera user in that I carry my camera on my belt in rain, snow, cold, and heat while hiking, climbing, off-trail scrambling, kayaking, etc. The G11 is definitely the second best camera I have ever owned (OK, here is the scale, I shot with a Mamiya 7 for several years and out of nostalgia it will always be my "favorite" camera). The G11 is a great compromise between durability, useability, and creative flexibility. In my mind, the G11 really stands out for the following reasons: 1) Great picture quality when shooting in the program mode 2) Most of the key features I use are one button away (as opposed to several menus down). This includes flash control. self timer (for when I put the camera on a Gorilla pod), +/- exposure, ASA, macro, etc. 3) Battery life (I am amazed at how long the battery lasts, I had intended to buy a second battery but do not need it. I did

Worth the money for an excellent mid range camera. I was a little concerened with some of the other reviews about the camera but if you read the instructions you can take excellent photos. I only tried the video once and it worked very well on our 60 LCD tv.

I had a Sony Cyber Shot that my wife and I purchased 7 years ago, I liked it, thought it took decent pics. My wife always complained, she didn't like the camera, she thought the photo quality was lacking. We got this camera, wife loves it, I love it - tons of features that are easy to use. I cannot wait to see what it can do once I actually learn how to use it properly. So far, using it as just a point and shoot. It does great! There are many other features that we will use and try out, but it does the job!

I used to have a G10 until my best friend fell in love with it and said he wanted to buy it. Hey, what are friends for? When I went to replace it, I found that the G10 was no longer readily available and my friend, a Canon rep, said that the image quality with the G11 (despite the drop in pixel count) was actually better. Hmmm, better image quality than a G10 - count me in! The G11 handles like a professional instrument. There is a serious, rugged quality to it. It isn't heavy, just solid. The controls are similar to the G10 so I didn't have to crack the manual to start taking pictures. I love the way the lens retracts into the body - covering and protecting the lens when it sits in a camera bag or coat pocket. The traditional viewfinder only shows a fraction of the actual image (my guess - 70-80%) so for critical compositions, I use the fold-out screen. For anyone used to shooting with a video camera, swinging out the screen and making pictures will seem second nature. I tilt it to minimize

I just purchased this camera and have been toying around with it in the house and so far the picture quality has been great! The auto is a little to vivid for my liking, so I just change to custom and turn the color to natural. The zoom is great and easy to focus when you zoom fast. The real test will be when I attend concerts, how well the low lighting shots will turn out! Can't wait to test it out some more

CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63" DISPLAYS UP TO 165LBS BLACK
My review focuses on how I mounted a 58" Panasonic to a custom cabinet without wall studs. However, I have included adjustments for mounting on wall studs. I have a Panasonic TC-P58V10 - 58" which weighs 110 lbs. The TV is mounted to a custom entertainment center that has 3/4" cabinet grade plywood back. The supplied hardware fasteners were not of any use to me (specifically the lag bolts) since the back wall of the entertainment center doesn't have a wall stud to mount. The quality of the remaining hardware wasn't up to my standards, so I bought new fasteners. Pros: The wall mount looks nice, construction is solid, no TV sag, can't beat the price. I paid $89. This would easily run over $200 in your typical box stores. Cons: Instructions are mediocre. I'd echo Brent Neimann Raleigh NC's (thanks for your review!)comment that illustrations would be helpful. Hardware fasteners are okay, but I don't trust the quality. Spend $25 and buy good fasteners. Tilt mechanism is weak. It's difficult

After researching full motion mounts for a while, I decided on this one for my 52 in. samsung LCD. It was pretty affordable compared to other full motion mounts. This mount was pretty easy to physically install and it seems to be good quality. The only thing that I would like to have seen in the directions was tips on placement of the wall bracket. This was my first time install a mount intended for a corner placement and it took a little trial and error to figure out where to place the wall bracket so that the final placement of the TV was where I wanted it. Definitely recommend this mount.

I was a little worried trying to suspend a 46" hi-definition TV over my fireplace. I just KNEW that the wall mount would sag and make everything look terrible. Well, I was wrong. After I put the Hercules mount on the wall, I cautiously started pulling my body-weight up on the mount [I weigh 230 pounds]. I ended up doing a quick pull-up work-out on the Hercules without ANY sag. I mounted my TV [less than 70 pounds] and I swear I heard the mount say, "Is that all you got?" Nice product - GREAT price.

This is heavy and I needed help to put it on the wall. It is a very solid product. It took about an hour to mount but I was definately taking my time. The directions were very clear.
All of the hardware required was included. I used less than half of the nuts and bolts provided - they covered every conceivable installation scenario.
It is really nice to be able to change the veiwing angle and position of the TV. Lighting reflections are no longer a factor.

I love my Canon G10...although it's a little heavy and doesn't take as great of photos as my Nikon D50...it's much more portable...it's a brick when it comes to weight, but it fits in my purse or a jacket pocket. The battery life and video quality are amazing!!!

Canon G11. I am not a professional, since I have never made a dollar from the pictures I took. Yet, I have been involved in photography for over 30 years ever since I was in middle school. I have owned mostly Nikon cameras up to F4s, then I switched to digital with Nikon D70 as soon as it became available, and then D300 about two years ago... I have owned Canon G3 about 6-7 years ago. I immediately fell in love with its articulated LCD. Why? I found it is very useful to take a shoot from different view angles that will make your picture more attractive. And particularly useful if you have just had a small child that starts to claw across your living room floor. As most of us here, I shop for G11 as a camera that I can take it everyday and everywhere. In my mind it is perfect for that purpose. I bought it as a "tool for photography", so I am not bothered too much for its weight and size. For this G11, what I like the most is that it is extremely easy adjusting almost all important

The Sanus full motion wall mount accomplished exactly what I had hoped. Although it is a little pricey it was worth it. I did have to go to the hardware store and pickup the correct mounting bolts to fit my particular plasma tv.

I am not a camera expert, by any means, nor am I a camera novice. Like most people, I fall somewhere in the middle of that range. I've been using point and shoot compact cameras since the time that 3 MP was considered "good" and they had always served me well. I still have my Canon Elph for when I need something extra easy to carry around, but this camera has become my primary.
I found it very easy to navigate, although I am sure my experience with my previous camera, both made by Canon, helped some. I'm works well when you need a point and shoot but offers so much more. My artsy streak makes me particularly fond of the feature that enables me to filter all colors except one, thus enabling me to a color accent on a black and white photo if I choose. The battery life has shocked me with its longevity, although I admit to picking up some lithium AAs. I've only taken a couple thousand pictures on them so far, but they are still going strong. I'm delighted to have a great optical zoom,

Ok. Ok. I know the photographers and experts may disagree with this review. But I just want to alert the everyday average folks - this is obviously not a SLR, but it is just bulky enough that it is not a point and click like the other Powershots that I had owned before. In fact, I have a hard time trying to buy a camera bag for it at Target, Staples, Walmart ... you name it. It is just a tad too heavy, just a tad too thick (front to back) and so on. Also, when I bought the camera I read all the reviews and I thought having a LCD screen that you can move out and up and down is kind of cool. In practice, I didn't like it. If that is not the design then the camera would be much thinner. So, all in all, I like it in every way just like the Powershots that I had before with the negative features as outlined above.

I bought this camera 2 days before the Super Bowl & it took absolutely FABULOUS pics! When zoomed in all the way, the slightest movement will move the actual view by feet, so you have to be steady or they'll be a bit blurry. I love that the screen flips around, so you can see the shot when taking pics of yourself with friends. I also love that it's "dumbed down" & the screen tells you when you need to raise the flash. I owned a Sony before, but am much happier with this camera.

Out of all my canon point and shoot cameras i will choose the G11 if it is a important picture and i have to get it right. The iso between 80 and 800 is very good, I even have some keepers at 1600 iso. I use a wrist strap instead of the neck strap. The control dials are so easy to use on the fly. I never thought a compact point and shoot camera could produce such great photos. I am getting about 400 to 450 pictures per charge, I hardly ever use auto mode that might help on the battery use, thats just me thinking out loud though(in auto mode it seems to try to refocas all the time). The 461.000 megapixle tilt / swivel LCD screen is brighter, clearer and larger than the one on my canon SX110, the swivel lcd screen is very versatile (grand kids-getting the camera down to thier level with out getting on my knees ). The G11 just has a good heft and feel to it, this is not a light or little camera by no means. No camera is perfect. I use the loweprow apex 60 just to carry the camera buy itself

This is truly an amazing camera. The image quality is wonderful and the features are awesome and easy to access. Another great feature is a dedicated video record button. There is no need to move any dials or scroll thru multiple menus. Lastly, unlike some cameras, the Auto mode allows you to take perfect pictures so there is no need to configure anything unless you really want to. BUY THE CAMERA :-)

Bought the G11 before the 2009 holiday season to take quality shots during important times. Along with it, I bought the Canon 270EX flash. The flash is small and definitely adds to the Camera's quality. This camera provides amaing low-light and great color accuracy. If you are looking for SLR like photos without dealing with the long term expense and the baggage of all the lenses, this is the camera for you. If you are looking for artisitc shots up close or large landscape shots, the quality is superb. If you are someone who wants great shots like the G11 but are a beginner and do not want to deal with all the manual options and larger size, I would recommend buying the Canon S90 from what I've heard.

the reviews that said it had focusing problems almost kept me from buying this camera, no focusing problems here!!! Shutter release is touchy about focusing but once you get use to it its fine! I also own a canon EOS 20D and wanted something smaller, a just for fun camera, this is it, it does everything I need it to and more!!

Yada, yada, where's the manual? I was shocked when I opened the book and found a glorified brochure for a manual. The camera isn't a kodak instamatic. It has a ton of fffffeatures. Features, does the camera have features? Well, yes it does. But you have to either read onliine or print up a ton of pages to figure out the features. I don't want to lug around a paper bound notebook. I don't want to lug around my computer to look up something about the camera while I'm out shooting. For $400. bucks, they could include the books. The manufactuer should be ashamed of being so cheap.
