I love the point an shoot cameras made by Sony mainly because of the Professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, that makes a huge difference when you compare this camera to a similar price camera from another manufacturer, in my opinion the picture quality of this camera is far superior then HP, Canon, Olympus, or Nikon.
Sony include the new ultra fast BIONZ processor in all their new cameras, this is a big deal when you take high resolution pictures and want your camera to be ready to shoot the next in no time at all.
There's a lot of things I love about this camera like: the animated graphical menus, cool metal exterior finish, big display, slide show with or without music, extended battery life, high sensitivity of ISO 3200, Super SteadyShot, and Convenient Photo Modes among others.
The Smile Shutter Mode does work but its a bit tricky when you try to use it on several subjects since you have to detect everyone faces for the Smile Shutter to work properly and this is not as easy

It works fine for about 18 months. Then dies. All data lost forever. I searched the web and discovered others had the same experience with this piece of junk.

I bought this drive to hold all of my video and photo files for my business and wow, its not only a lot of space but the transfer rate is insanely fast. I am actually running programs on this drive as oppose to my internal drive on my comupter. Great buy. great price, great product.

I cannot urge you enough to look elsewhere for an external HD. These products are GARBAGE.
I bought this along with my new iPod (ironically because I have a smaller 120GB external from these guys that has been everything I could ask of it), intending to store my iTunes files on here, rather than using up all that space on my laptop's HD. So... I get the drive, burn about 250-300 cds onto the drive.... and it craps out. Data gone. Oh man, I was livid.
Seagate replaced the drive, which is fine, but they only replace broken drives with refurbs... so, you replace your broken drive with one that was ALREADY BROKEN. Why this didn't occur to me at the time, I don't know. And guess what they charge to recover data from broken drives? $50? $200? No!!! FOURTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! $1,400!!!! No joke. I've bought cars for less.
Anyway, I get the replacement drive, and this one lasts all the way through all _520 CDs_ I own. FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY CDS. I get them all stored on the drive, and I'm making

The LaCie 250 GB Rugged Hard Disk with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB2.0 is a great unit that is ideal for those with fire-wire ports built-in to their laptops and computers. Unfortunately while most Macs have fire-wire built-in, right now the majority of Windows based laptops do not. That is changing as more PCs are getting them built-in. I need drives for several computers, including Mac, Windows and Linux boxes. Suffice it to say that this drive is definitely a must own if you have a Mac and may even be worth installing a fire-wire card if you have a PC.
While it is no secret that I love my WD hard-drives, the LaCie drive definitely outperforms it in a few key areas. So depending on your needs, it may be well worth the small premium to pick up the LaCie.
Don't get me wrong, when it comes to value and best performance for your buck the Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive (Intense Blue) is a great option. Like the LaCie, it has a variety

Seeing as how all the reviews prior to mine are 4 and 5 stars, I must have had bad luck with the particular Little Disk that I bought less than a week ago.
I was very excited because of how small and beautiful it is. Everything transferred from my other external hard drive with no problem, the FireWire made it super fast, so far so good.
Then, the disk lost its connection with my Macbook because the FireWire cord is so short and the disk itself is so small; it slipped out of my hands by accident. I got the "device removal warning" and grimaced, but figured I would be okay. Nope. All of my LaCie data was corrupt and I had to repair the disk, erase everything, and re-transfer from my older external. From then, everything started working again.
Then two nights ago, I connected my year-old iPod to "erase and sync" with my new library (my Macbook is new too). After a few seconds, I got an error message saying that my iPod "could not be read from or written to." Since the "erase" had been

Bought this for my Linux laptop. Works right of the box. Changed the file system to ext3. The bottom rubber strip is a plus which prevents the drive from sliding down on my slanted desk. Beautiful exterior finish.

I had an HP 5L, which was a stinkin' pile of.... Printed great, but it had the dreaded feeder problems all the 5L/6L models had.
This one seems to work great, starts up fast, seems well made.
I use a Belkin 10 ft USB cable with no problems with the length. Installation was easy.
Just a tip for installation with no instructions included: do not connect the USB cable until the software on the CD prompts it. i.e. connect the power, get all the packing material out, and shake the cartidge, then put the CD in the PC.

I own 6 HP laserjet printers. I have had HP printers since 1984. I will not purchase HP printers in the future because their technical support is so bad. My last experience with HP nonsupport wasted an hour and ended with them trying to sell me a new printer. I was able to solve my problem by purchasing a parallel connector PCI card from amazon. The experience still cost me $49 plus tax even though HP did not solve my problem.

I purchased this external hard drive to back up files on my computer. I like Toshiba products and this hard drive got some great reviews so I decided to go with this hard drive. I have to say that I am pleasantly satisfied with its performance. I like the look and the size of it. The shadow software that came with it is not the best but it gets the job done. Overall, I give this hard drive 5 stars because I have no complaints.
P.S. I use windows vista so for anyone who has windows vista and is thinking about using this hard drive, be assured that it is fully compatible with vista.

I have no idea how well this product works, because it's not compatible with digital ISP phone lines, so it never worked for us. Nowhere in the item description does it explain that Brother machines are ONLY compatible with ANALOG lines. The tech support representative at Brother explained that NO Brother machine is compatible with digital lines. Please be aware when you consider this time!!

This little external is fantastic. There are no batteries required, unlike some of the larger models from seagate. The size of the thing is very convenient for taking it to and from college; it's about the size of a wallet. The program used for managing your files on the external is very simplistic and non arduous compared to some of the other external drive software that makes you load the friken program for 5 hours before you can transfer anything - this program is just drag and drop or cut and paste. Lastly, the storage capacity on this external is very sensible, you really don't need any more space than roughly 150 MB of storage unless your an animator or something like that.

(That's a good thing!) Have used it as a repository for back-ups (via ShirtPocket's SuperDuper) of 2 internal Mac G4 drives and 1 external firewire drive-- it's still just a few months old-- but it worked efficiently and unobtrusively. The black high-gloss finish reminds me of a beautiful black mirror. Set-up was effortless. All that's needed is for LaCie is to make icons of it available. Bought it from JR Music after it went out of stock with Amazon. No free shipping but it came out cheaper even with shipping.

So far, I have been very satisfied with the Iomega Portable hard drive Firewire 400/USB 2.0. It is fast, quiet, and cool. My wife and I permanently live in a RV trailer and space is at a premium. We purchased this drive to back up our laptop.
Great unit so far.

This is a durable external hard drive! I use it with a macbook running Tiger and I've had no problems...while other ehd's I've used with this comp have bit the dust. There's no frills with this ehd, but it's dependable and it just works.

I bought this drive specifically for use in my PS3. Installation was a breeze. I backed up my old drive to a third external drive, swapped it out with this one, and restored everything with no issues whatsoever. I'm very happy with it -- now I've got room for tons of demos, music, and videos.

The Seagate drive is fine but the Amazon blurb is absolutely misleading.
The software included is a 30 day trial. If you want to keep using it there is a $39 charge.
Western Digital drives include the software for free.

I have over 2.5TB of 320gb drives. So trust this opinion on the points I write:
The simpletech drives are no real difference over the passport by western digital, in fact the WD is a bit thinner (when you cram as many in a case it may matter). The WD is supplied with a short cable, the Simpletech is a longer cable, and THIS is why some of the users will experience a problem with the simpletech drives-> The cable being longer will deliver less current to the drive, thus some computers do not have the ability to juice it up properly unless you use a high quality shorter USB cable. Additionally, I have noted (by taking many of them apart) that the PC Board (usb to SATA adapter portion) is not as "simple" as the passport, the pc board also runs a little warmer than the WD counterpart. I lastly ordered TWO of these 320gb Cherry's (320 juicy drippin' Gigabytes) and ONE of them had a BAD PC BOARD (USB to SATA internal adapter) which did not matter to me since I got the drive cheaper than a bare

First of all this is a great hard disk, but why would anyone want to spend $79 on a 160 gb hard disk when you can get a 250 gb hard disk for $96 (atleast as of July'08) - so look for a bigger drive if you can.
Note: If you want to skip the long review, you can go to the last paragraph of this review where I have some useful tips on how best to use your portable drive and how to keep ideal data backup.
It is a given fact that any portable drive you buy in the market today is going to perform good in the short term - maybe 3 months, 6 months or even a year.
But when you are buying a portable drive - you have to look beyond 3-5 years because thats how long you are probably going to keep your drive. You have to look at the reliability of the drive - to not lose any data because of hard disk failures.
I have used various drives - Seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi, Samsung .., but I can vouch for the fact that Seagate is the numero uno when it comes to drive reliability. I have had many

I was struggling to find the right photo keychain for my 8 year old daughter as it seemed as if all of them had negative aspects (cheap feeling, break easily, etc.). One of the reviews I read was from a guy who had bought this product from JWIN. I liked the upscale look and the hidden display so I decided to buy it. No regrets whatsoever. The set-up was a piece of cake, the quality right on and the pictures look fantastic. The hidden mirror was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for the best of the bunch.
