purchased this to replace my same camera that was stolen in a restaurant. Great quality camera, and a great price at overstock. Would recommend getting a larger memory card too, as the one included only allows about 14 pictures before it is full. Overstock shipped it the same day, and I received it that night! Wow!

As the owner of this camera for one year, I would not recomend buying it. Many owners are getting an error message
"lens error restart camera" just google that and you can read all about it. Canon claims there's no problem. I would avoid this one. Too many better digitals out there. Probably why overstock has an excess of them.

I bought this camera and it worked for about 3 months and now when I turn it on it will not work. I bought it refurbished and I will not do that again. It will be on, but nothing will show up on the screen or when I actually take a picture. It's rubbish!

I am sending in my second Digital Elph for repairs and i am expecting a similar outcome as the first. The lens on these cameras frequently malfunction, making them virtually worthless. The first time the lens malfunctioned, Canon claimed it was something I did and therefore, was not covered by the warranty. Believing them and loving the camera, I purchased a second one just five months after purchasing the first. Not even eight months later, the second camera did essentially the same thing, flashing "Lens Error" just moments after I successfully used the camera. I called Canon for the second time and gave a similar explanation as written here. They gave me zero sympathy or concern. After doing some research, it appears Canon has received numerous complaints on the Digital Elph lens as it frequently malfunctions. The kicker is is that they will only fix it if there is no damage by dust, dirt, sand, or normal wear and tear. You guessed it, very few repaired under warranty. Despite numerous

This is the first digital camera I have ever purchased, but after seeing various friends and relatives use their cameras I finally decided to purchase one and asked around. The consensus was that Canon made a good product. I then looked for simplicity of use and found all of these in this camera. I've practiced with this a bit and found that it is just as easy to learn to use and it takes excellent picture. I also like the ability to make the picture zoom in or out even after I've snapped the shot. This appeared to be in the mid-to-low price range for this type of equipment. Overstock showed other items purchased with this camera, one of which was a 2 gb memory card - which is perfect as I'm going on a trip to DisneyWorld and this will be able to hold all the pictures I wish to take and keep.

This has been the best camera I have bought anywhere and even though it had been refurbished it still takes amazing pictures has amazing features and is the best camera I have bought.

Excellent buy! Camera did not have the lens cover but had everything else. Very easy to use and the instruction book is very easy to follow to learn to use a more sophisticated camera. Love it.

I suppose I could easily do a video review and really show off the camera - but I'm in writing mode at the moment. At any rate, we bought the camera to take underwater photos on a snorkeling vacation - where it performed perfectly - but I love it for food blogging. The macro feature takes perfect food porn pictures effortlessly, and if you get a bit of bechamel on your lens, it washes or wipes right off. I'm neither a trained or talented photographer, but I've been very happy with this product, which we've had for a year.

Disappointed that it wasn't made clear that the memory card provided only holds 4 pictures! Now have to spend time and more $$ to try and find a larger one. This was a gift for my mom so she was only able to take 4 photo's of her grandson on his recent visit.

We have a baby and with our last camera, I would push the button, but the actual picture was of something the baby was doing 2 seconds later. That doesn't work with an infant. This camera gets the image you want. It does much better. \

Ok, I am officially venting about my camera! I will never by another Kodak Product just because of their customr service department. I've never had any problems with the mechanics of the camera but a small rubber door broke off that covered the usb port, I know it's not a necessity but I like things like new. I thought OK I'll just call and get another. Oh No. Not that easy, they politely told me it was under warranty but they could not sell me that small door, it would have to be replaced by a trained service technician. Whatever, it's held on with a small rubber ball that you stick in a hole and probably doesn't cost 1.00. They also said when I send it back that if they decide they can replace my camera, which I have taken every effort to keep in emaculate shape, with a refurbished one. A REFURBISHED ONE! Over a small rubber cover...Come to find out after much research today, Kodak keeps a tight reign on parts etc. so you can't get them from repair places without going through Kodak.

I've had the DSC-W55 before and decided to buy this model. It's really nice. Love the quality of pictures. Very easy- to- use camera, specially made for starters. And the memory stick duo adaptor... great idea!
The bad thing.... if you have big fingers, you are gonna have a little problem with the buttons of the camera.

I did alot of research before buying this camera. Being that I am not camera savy I wanted something that I could point and shoot and get brilliant pictures. I was in the market to get the Canon A560 but they were sold out at all the stores in my area. The clerk showed me the A470 and I was instantly impressed by it. The A470 was easy to learn how to use. I downloaded the pictures for the first time today and was impressed by the quality. It doesn't matter if the photos are taken inside or outdoors - the color is vibrant and the image is crisp and clear. I am having so much fun with this camera - probably even driving my kids crazy by taking pictures all the time. I think anyone who purchases this camera will be very happy with it.

It's a great camera overall. Just point and shoot and the pictures turn out great! The only thing I don't like is it takes 2 AA batteries that don't last long when using the camera.

I was well pleased with the product and its short delivery time. It is easy to use and gives good picture quality. I was glad to be able to get such a high quality camera at such a good price. "Factory refurbished" gives me the confidence to purchase something I normally wouldn't buy used. Great Deal!

It took me many months before I decided to purchase this camera. There are so many reviews, both positive and negative, that it was almost confusing. This camera is really for the individual that wants to be able to take both video and still photography. Is this the best video camera? No. Is it the best still camera? No. Is it the best combo camera? Without a doubt. It offers great versatility and quality in a compact, mobile package.
First let me say that I have shot with a DSLR for years. I love still photography and never thought about going back to point and shoot after owning a Canon Digital Rebel and now a Canon 40D. But over time I wanted something smaller that I could fit in my pocket and take with me to many locations where a DSLR is just too prohibitive. The Canon TX1 was the one for me.
This camera is a just a little wider than some of the small profile Powershot cameras, but it fits very well into the pocket of your pants. It is sturdy and the lens and LCD screen

After a lot of research we bought the Olympus 770SW to have a camera we could take snorkeling, hiking, and many places/activities where I would not take my Nikon D80 or our beloved Minolta (RIP) point and shoot. I was concerned about reviewers who mentioned soft images and image quality. I'm fairly critical when looking at images, and I believe there is little to worry about for 90%+ of users on that score. We used the camera over a week in Orlando, through swamp boat rides, log flume rides, swimming pools, snorkeling, and pretty much everywhere and are very happy with it and our results.
Pros: Solidly built and appears to stand up to the dropping, submersion, and crushing Olympus claims. Fit easily in velcro pocket of cargo shorts. Good feel in the hand (balance, button placement). Picture quality has been well above expectations (see comments under cons below for caveats). I found the menus to be easily learned and intuitive (some reviewers don't like the menu set-up). Others mentioned

This camera was just what I was looking for! It is small enough to fit in your back pocket and takes great photos. I did not feel there was any difference between the refurbished camera compared to a new camera. Not only was the camera great but it was delivered in two days. I would definitely recommend it.

this was a great investment. I got that package deal (camera, case,&duo stick for computer) at a better price than Sony or Best Buy offered. Camera has really great features (auto smile, set to look for adults or children, video, & slideshow to name a few). The only downside is that Sony has not made a Marine Kit to fit this camera yet for underwater use. Excellent quality on printed pictures.

You made have read reviews before for this camera that it does not work well in low light situations. That is only partly true. After first receiving this camera in the mail i was quite disappointed. Indoor pictures looked really bad and noisy! After doing a little research, i found out it is because in "AUTO" mode the camera will generally keep the iso at about 800 or so, which is NOT a good thing. this camera, when the iso gets above 200, the images get very nasty looking, this is especially noticeable when taking a picture that has wood in it.
I have found an easy fix to this problem which drastically enhances the picture quality when taking shots indoors. I first put the camera into "P" mode, which allows manual control of flash power, exposure, iso, etc. i manually set the ISO down to 100 or 64. After doing this, the image quality of an indoor shot goes up dramatically.
on a side note, this camera does very well outdoors, colors look amazing, especially for the cheap price of the
