down side, it is that this TV gas so many different picture & sound options that it is hard to decide how you like it set up. I finally settled on one of the built in profiles and kept it there. This TV looks great with the dish HD and also just as great with my local HD programming that I am receiving through my rabbit ears ($2.99 at Big Lots). I use the HDMI interface for the Dish HD receiver and just hook the rabbit ears to the cable coax input. I let it auto program the off air channels which took about 90 seconds. I also have an older DVD/VCR combo hooked up through the RGB component inputs. The DVDs also look very, very good. In fact, it appears to me that the internal algorithms that the Samsung usues to upconvert the input to 1080P are excellent. My current Dish receiver will only output 720p or 1080i signals. The Samsung does a superb job of displaying either of those. One of my local HD stations broadcasts in 720p and the picture is flawless on the Samsung. In fact, any of the digital 480i input looks almost as good as the HD input. This assumes, of course, that the original material is high quality (not replays of ball games from 1986 on ESPN Classic for instance). I would not hesitate to purchase this TV all over again. I am simply in awe of how good the image quality is. As previous reviewers have noted, the sound quality is nothing to rave about, but actually it is not that terrible either. A TV this big & beautiful just begs for a nice surround sound system anyway. Buy & Enjoy!

the placement of the RX-V3800. While the mute still occurs occasionally (primarily when a person stands in front of the TV and reflects back the IR to the receiver) it is now acceptable.

In conclusion: The Samsung HL67A750 is an excellent product with only minor issues

My only complaint was the Samsung stand is flimsy on carpet, so I strapped the TV to the wall... I live in Northridge, California :-)
So far the TV is way better than I expected. I really wanted an LCD TV. I have a 37" in my bedroom, so I know how nice they look, but I just couldn't justify the price right now; so I settled. I'm glad I did. The picture is every bid as good as the bedroom TV, the screen doesn't reflect light from inside the room or from the windows, the sound, even without the receiver and added speakers, is really nice. The set is made so that the screen is just about the entire front of the box it's housed in, so there isn't a lot of extra box taking up room. My living room is about 30 feet long and I really wanted a bigger TV, but this TV looks a lot bigger than I was expecting, even though it's replacing an older rear projection TV that also was 61". That box took up so much room, I guess I thought the screen was bigger. This new Samsung actually seems to have a larger viewing screen area.
Bottom line, I'm glad I saved the money and got this TV. If it holds up as well as the one I just replaced, that is not 10 years old, I'll be WAY more than happy.

I called Amazon and they only offered to replace it, since the man I hired to assemble it was here I had no choice but to let him assemble it or pay him for a service call and wait another 2 weeks for a stand that might not be in any better condition. I opted to let him put it together. The stand is very functional put has scratches and dents on it.
Amazon couldn't care less, a very nasty cold fish of a costumer
relations rep. Offered me a 20% discount which I had to accept, because I had run out of options. Shame on you AMAZON Shame on you.
Let the buyer beware.

This TV has A LOT of options for adjusting the picture. So many, that some may get confused, so I will post my suggested settings. First of all, when you get the set or see it in the store, it defaults to Dynamic mode, which in my opinion looks HORRIBLE!!! Don't judge this set too much by how it looks in the store, it looks waaay better in person.

do not have a Blu-ray player but did buy an upconverting DVD player to play my 100+ collection of DVD's and the picture looks so much better than playing them through a standard DVD player that I can only imagine how things will look when I finally get a Blu-ray player.
Overall, I would give this TV 5-stars.

our viewing distance of 12 feet. I haven't been to a movie theater in a while as this set brings the theater to you. The large size is especially great for watching sports and movies. After watching TV on this set, I complain about the 42" set in my bedroom because it looks small. And the price for this much screen makes for an excellent value.

- Firmware can be easily updated through the USB slot.

- Unlike past DLPs, there is no bulb to replace.

- Unlike LCDs, no motion blur at all for sports (and I watch a lot of sports).

- Unlike plasmas, the energy consumption is very low. This set does not run hot at all.

Cons:
- All rear projection TVs are subject to something called Silk Screen Effect (due to the screen material used). Think of it as someone holding up a silk screen or clear panty hose up against the screen, and trying to watch TV through it. While it can be downplayed by lowering the contrast ratio, it cannot be eliminated. This set has a fair amount of Silk Screen Effect, generally only noticeable when watching a bright scene. A lot of people only notice it when watching all white events, such as hockey or skiing. But I notice it sometimes in other colors as well, and it's annoying when I do. It detracts from the "3D" experience that you get when watching a high-end plasma. My wife has not noticed it at all though, so maybe I'm just being picky.

- Check out the owners thread for this set on AVS Forums. This model has pretty big geometry problems. Again, pretty much every set has it, but the seriousness varies from set to set. Basically the casing used to house the TV is very thin and flimsy, and the outside borders are not always straight. For example, my set has a dip in the top middle of the screen, and a rise in the bottom middle of the screen. Pull up a linear grid from the service menu and you will be able to see just how bad the bowing is. Luckily for me, I never notice the bowing when I watch something. But it can be seen if you are looking directly at the bowing. I also have serious bowing on the side black bars when I watch 4:3 standard definition content (looks like an hourglass shape). I do not watch much SD content so it doesn't bother me that much. Again, check out AVS Forums and you will see a lot of people have returned or exchanged this set due to bowing problems.

- Sound quality is pretty poor. I hooked up a 5.1 surround system and never expect to use the internal speakers again. Make sure you invest in a surround package if you buy this TV.

- Standard definition content looks terrible. Trying to watch "Seinfeld" re-runs on TBS or an SD baseball game is not enjoyable at all.

Overall, mainly due to Silk Screen Effect, I would say I prefer the picture of my Panasonic PZ85U plasma over this Samsung A750. But a 60"+ plasma is very expensive and that is why I am happy with my Samsung purchase. You get 90% of a high-end plasma's picture quality, at a much lower price. If you do decide to buy this TV, you may want to get it at a local store though instead of online. Due to the bowing issue, you may need to exchange it once or twice before getting a set you can be happy with.

what you bought, he could not believe his eyes, and he said that is much better than my 50" Toshiba Plasma set. So I have only had it for a day and have not looked at the manual, but I have not found one flaw so far. I only have a Comcast HD set top box; a TivoHD and DVD player hooked up to it but all 3 have great pictures.
