Samsung LN52A750 52" Full High Definition LCD TV with 1080p Resolution

Truely a great TV. Everything as advertised, easy and intuitive to use. Picture looks great. You can set it to "Sports, Movies, Games " etc. , or tweek all the seetings yourself. Lots of user settings, and menues; which I found easy to use. If you don't have a flash drive, get one. You can download updated software and drivers from Samsungs website, and with a Flash drive and the TV's UBS port; Bam! your TV's software is updated. I see this TV lasting a long time with this feature.

The shipment was great. After purchasing at Amazon, delivery was estimated at 1 week. The frieght company called the next day to schedule a delivery. I ordered on a Friday; overnight it was shipped from PA to NY ( Westchester, just above NYC). I could have had it in my appartment Monday! But schueduled the delivery for the following Friday. I was not expecting it so quick, and wanted to give my boss a little notice I would be taking a day off to recive my great new TV.

When it arrived from Pilot Frieght, the

LG 52LG70 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Love my LG HDTV! I had checked out the models I was interested in at various stores and the LG dose not disappoint. HD programs are outstanding. The Packer/Bear night game was glorious - very reason I bought the set. Other programing is better than OK. The swivel base is a feature that works perfectly in my space configuration. Delivery was faster than I was led to believe ind the set arrived in perfect condition.

Samsung LN52A750 52" Full High Definition LCD TV with 1080p Resolution

I bought this TV sight unseen. However, I did research by reading reviews on Amazon and AVSForum. Coming from a 4 year old Plasma, I have to say the colors and black levels are very impressive for an LCD (better than my previous plasma). I'm sure the current plasmas have better blacks, but the benefits of LCD far exceed the better blacks. The dynamic contrast ratio and black enhancer more than make up for any perceived differences in contrast ratio.

I have to discuss AMP a little bit. At first, watching movies with AMP on seems "off." The reason being that our eyes are familiar with 24 frame films which is actually not as natural as 60 or even 30 frames per second. However, we've watched movies at this rate all our lives so what's unnatural becomes natural. So when AMP adds frames to films, the movie seems more life like and a little strange or "soap operaish." It's different, but it's by no means a bad thing. It's really a personal preference but I prefer the clarity and life-like HD

After contemplating the decision to replace my 32" HD Toshiba tube TV for over a year, this Sharp TV went on-sale for Black Friday and I couldn't pass up the bargain.

I had and have done a TON of research on LCD TVs and I would always end up not buying one due to the prevalence of the "next year's model will be even better" mentality that the manufacturers continue to push.

Well, I can tell you that while this TV may not be some top-of-the-line Sony or Pioneer, the picture is quite frankly fantastic.

I truly believe that we have entered the realm that audio equipment exist in within the TV product space, there's plenty of ultra high-end audio gear out there that costs 10 times as much as the consumer stuff, but most people don't care to may such a premium for little additional value.

So, my point is that while this TV doesn't have the fastest refresh time, best contrast ratio, or 120Hz technology that competing TVs have I have yet to be anything but impressed with the performance.

After two weeks, our TV developed a problem with the picture. It had a sawtooth pattern on the top and white spots throughout.

That was SIX WEEKS AGO!

I've spent hours on the phone with Sony, their service departments, and Qualxserve, the company Sony outsourced service to. Bottom line, our TV has still not been repaired. Parts have taken weeks to arrive. At first, they thought it was the video processing board. Qualxserve replaced it, but it did not fix the problem. They ordered a new display panel, but that won't arrive for several more weeks.

When you call Qualxserve, there is never an available agent. The system dumps you to an answering machine, but no one ever calls back. I escalated to Sony directly, begging them to simply relace the TV, but to no avail.

This is, by far, the worst experience I have ever had with a product or their service departments. Do not buy this TV or any other Sony product. I'm also not sure it was worth the savings to buy from Amazon. I

One can not overestimate the WOW factor of the Samsung LN52A750 52-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color. In the LN52A750 Samsung has given the world brilliant picture quality and stunning style in a unit that anyone would be proud to make the centerpiece of their living room or entertainment palace.

Right out of the box the picture is impressive, although the factory settings are too bright and overly saturated. This is to be expected, however, as virtually all manufacturers tune their sets to stand out in store displays. After fine-tuning my set using Digital Video Essentials: Optimize Your Home Entertainment System (NTSC Component), I now have a virtually perfect picture. It was a tedious and time-consuming process, however, so my recommendation to the patience-impaired would be to hire someone locally to do the work using the latest test equipment. For most people it would be well worth the cost (est. $50 -$75) after shelling out a couple of G's for a state-of-the-art LCD

I purchased this tv to replace my Samsung Plasma (PN50A550) which I also reviewed.

Having 4 other Samsung TVs I was reluctant to try another brand. Especially a brand that did not start with an S (Samsung, Sony, Sharp).

So things to know before diving into my review.

"Stated" contrast ratios are as is. Meaning stated. there is no standard! Keep that in mind when you read specs. LG's 15,000:1 IS better than Samsungs 1,000,000:1. Yes you read that right.

With no standards established for contrast ratios the only way to determine this is to see it in person. Sorry but it is what it is. Thats why you can say that a Sony's Image is better than a comparable spec'd Sceptre's. Its all in the image itself NOT the specs.

I am a Samsung fanboy, even with the failure of my last Samsung TV. So this is as fair and impartial as it will get on a Non-Samsung product - feel free to read my other reviews.

The Review:

I went to a local Video Only and compared the Samsung LN52A650, LN52A630, Panasonic

I had been shopping for a new TV for quite some time. I'm very picky about my electronics and knew just what I was looking for. I also, obviously, didn't want to spend more than I had to. This TV is simply perfect. It has all the features I wanted. The image is fantastic.

It was sold at Amazon via OneCall. I had no issues with them what so ever. Free delivery right to my door. Very friendly to deal with.

All in all, i couldn't be happier with my purchase or the process of buying it. I see now that the TV is sold straight from Amazon, it's significantly cheaper than I bought it for 6 months or so ago. You just can't go wrong with this TV at this current price.

The only negative I have about this TV is it's packaging - more specifically the sticky film plastic stuff they used all over the TV to protect it from scratches in shipment. Mind you, not the screen - the plastic around it. When I peeled the bit that was under the screen away from the TV, it pulled some of the

I ordered the Sony 2 weeks ago, after doing some research, in part because of Amazon's great price, and the reviews I read here. I admit, I was a tad nervous about ordering a big-ticket item from an online retailer, having never done it before. The set arrived exactly when scheduled, the afternoon of the 11th. The guy from my cable company came the next morning, the 12th, to hook it up. We take it out of the box, put it on the stand. He connects it, turns it on..we have sound, but NO picture. So we call Sony..they say try a few things..( thank God the cable guy is here) no luck..NO pic..nada..zilch...so Sony gives me an Event #..( sounds like a FEMA event) and the number for one of their authorized repair outfits..I call, and the guy arrives the NEXT day, the 13th, on time, exactly when scheduled.a miracle..We lay the set face down on a blanket, he takes it apart..tests a bunch of stuff..he thought there might have been a loose connection..no joy..he calls Sony, on his tech support line..they

52 LCD 1080P HDTV TX-52F480S

I have had this television set since June 2008. I had 90 days to return it to Costco and get all of my money back. Costco is down the street from my house. For 75 of those 90 days I swore I was taking it back.

Somewhere between day 75 and day 90 I realized this is a freakin' awesome TV. Once I got over the "I must only buy brand name TVs that electronic geeks think are best for me" insecurities, I was able to fall in love with the picture quality on this set and enjoy it more each day.

Every brand will have quirks. If the features on this Westinghouse suit your needs, don't hesitate because you think the lower price will mean substandard picture quality.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this TV.

I have owned both LCDs this year - the popular Samsung LN52A650 and the Sony KDL52W4100. I have no hesitation in saying that I prefer the Sony way better than the Samsung. Here's why:

Plus:
- Amazing picture quality - natural colors, amazing black levels, sharpness, clarity on SD broadcasts
- Superior motion enhancement (Motionflow) even on high setting. (superior to Samsung A650 AMP)
- Stylish looks and design
- Decent speakers although I prefer to use my external home theater speakers
- Semi-matte screen reduces glare

Minus:
- Menu layout cumbersome (too much vertical scrolling)
- No remote backlight
- No swivel stand

The minuses are minor issues that I can live with. Overall this is one of the best TVs you can buy at a fair price.

Highly recommended!!

LG 52LG70 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Best deal and worth every penny! The Sony's and Samsung's were priced $500 to $1500 more and the clarity of the picture didn't even compare to the picture on this TV. The set up was easy and we have not had any problems with the settings as the previous reviewer had written.

Samsung LN52A750 52" Full High Definition LCD TV with 1080p Resolution

I've been agonizing over an HDTV purchase for months. My 32" 480p Samsung CRT just wasn't doing it for me anymore. It was time to delve into HD now that it has been around for awhile with major tech innovations (1080p, 120hz, and more). I feel as though it will be many years before a *significant* new HD technology comes along. Here is a list of what I've been agonizing over (and probably you too) and why I made the decision for the 750.

1. LNxxa750 vs LNxxa650

I spent some time drooling over the LN52a650 until I came across LN52a750. I searched and searched to see if there was a performance difference between the two sets. I finally found someone with some knowledge and indeed the 750's use a different (more powerful) internal processor than the a650's. For how incredibly small the price difference is between the 650 and 750 I'm surprised people still shop the 650. Not to mention the regal-looking bezel on the 750, the woofer for those without a home theater system, and some other minor

We bought this TV against my better judgement, because of the price. The set itself is rather good looking, and the set-up is relatively a breeze. I can see that this brand and model are geared more towards people who aren't to be bothered by complex features and advanced menu functions. I, however, am.

While this set may boast some of the same technologies as other, higher-quality sets, the technology isn't quite the same. The 120 Hz HD "Natural Motion" feature just isn't as refined as it is on other sets. But the worst is the HD "Pixel Perfect" feature that is supposed to make everything sharper. Unfortunately, this is like going into a remedial photo editing program and using the Sharpen Image tool about 5 times too many (if any of you have played around with editing your photos, you may know what I'm talking about). The result is that a lot of times, you get the dreaded "halo effect" around edges. Sometimes this benefits the picture with bolder, simpler images, but when there

I would be the first to complain and I don't write reviews to rave, this is unusual for me.

Incredible Picture, bright, lifelike color representation. Without mentioning a word most everyone that watches the TV comments on how great the picture is. Almost hard to believe. I have another relatively new LCD (Samsung and Samsung DLP) and a Plasma (Panasonic) set. HD programming on this set makes HD on the others look like Standard Def.

The way the set displays motion is unlike any other TV I have seen or owned, very cool experience to watch a scene pan left or right. It doesn't look like TV, it looks like HD film.

Intuitive menus and remote, easy to plug and play with most any hook up and source. I have a PS3, Cable Box, Pre-Amp and Apple Computer all hooked up, it took minutes and everything worked right away. You can even use the interactive TV menu to label each port. Could not be easier to use this, very natural and simple system. When switching sources they are listed by

Like most big screen shoppers, I did a ton of research and ended up with the 52W4100. I got it last week and couldn't be more impressed. The SD channels look good, the HD channels are unbelievable. I've got a room with a ton of windows and the matte screen really does a nice job reducing the glare. I really like the look of the whole package. I can't wait to get a BlueRay player. I am 120% satisfied with this TV.

Sharp LC52D64U 52 Aquos LCD HDTV
Sharp Aquos LC52D64U is horrible, it was delivered 3 weeks ago and I have spent all my tv viewing time since trying to tweak it.
Impossible to get colors right and when you get close on one channel, you invariably have to re-adjust on next channel.
Picture is only clear on up close shots, as soon as video switches to a medium to distant shot , all is out of focus. Same for DVD'S. My old Panosonic 32 inch CRT has 10 times better picture and I have never had to adjust the settings....ever!
Sharp support was no help, they stated that this was a HDTV and I could not expect to get a decent picture on non-HD channels. This is unbelievable, why would anyone buy a TV that you can only watch 6 channels or so, out of 200. Besides the HD channels only are clear on close up shots also, anything else is out of focus.
I will give Sharp one more chance/call and then I will send this item back, as my return window will expite shortly.

Looks as good as the Samsungs and Sonys that were $1500 more when I was looking. At home it is better than any TV I have seen at home (I don't base much on what I can see in the show room, too much that you can't know about how it has been set up, e.g., are the cheaper models made to look worse than the more expensive ones so the store can sell the latter).

We were impressed. We were looking for same equivalent of tv with the Samsung brand..it took us awhile to decide and were so relieved we went with Sony.Whew! Sleek-looking, picture is great, no need to close our windows when watching tv because no more glare! What a difference. This is actually one of the major deciding factor why we went with Sony not Samsung, even though Samsung is a little bit less expensive.
