I bought the mount for a Samsung Series 5, 46" LCD TV, model LN46A550. The manufacturer didn't specify if this model would work or not, I assume since it is one of Samsung's newer lines. However I noticed that it did work on lots of other Samsungs so I decided to give it a shot. It worked just fine. The mount is a nice heavy gauge metal construction and assembly was straight forward. I highly recommend a tilting mount vs a fixed one so you can tilt the TV up to attach cords. Otherwise you have no space to work with unless the TV comes totally off of the mounting bracket. I paid $75 on Amazon.com vs $250 for a similar mount at the big box electronic stores and I am completely satisfied.

I bought this mount in order to wall mount a Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50" plasma. It worked perfectly and was very easy to put up. I looked at some of the big box stores, and couldn't see why I should pay $200-400 for a mount, when I could get one from Amazon for much less...and I wasn't disappointed. After I took my 100 lb tv box up two flights of stairs, I was convinced that I needed to hire a professional to mount it. But as soon as I saw it cost between $300 and $400 to have this done, I decided to tackle the job myself. I am glad I did, because it was very simple.

The first thing to do, prior to ordering this mount, is to make sure that you know where the studs are in your wall. This mount works in wood, concrete, and cinder block. For wooden studs, it will work in two or three studs, just make sure they aren't more than 24" apart from the outsides. The mount backing is wider than that, but you want to mount in the middle of the studs. Also, verify that it will work with your tv.

This one works with most tvs that are 32 to 50 inches, but if you aren't sure, go to the Peerless web site, and you can look up your tv model.

Once you have verified and ordered, the set up is pretty easy. Mark your studs, level it, and mount the back plate. It took me (a very average do it yourselfer) 10 minutes to do this part. The hardest part was driving the hardware into the studs, because of the beams being thick. Peerless makes selection of the hardware easy, because it provides packets of screws based on the material you are mounting into.

Second step is to hook the tilting brackets onto the back of your tv. Again, this was very easy because Peerless gives you a job aid that tells you based on your tv model which screws to use that will fit your tv. It comes with many different options, so very likely you will have the right hardware to complete this step. The most difficult part of this step I thought was making sure that the brackets were mounted equally from top to bottom of the tv. I measured a few times, but missed the right hole twice before getting it right. But still an easy process. Tighten up the screws to your tv, make sure the tilt knobs are locked down and you are ready to lift the tv into place.

My tv weighs about 90 lbs, so it was a two person (probably should have been 3) job. Luckily my tv has handles on the bottom to lift it up, which made it easier, but still heavy since I have it mounted 6 feet off the ground. It slips onto the wall mount very easily, then you slip the bottom on. Once you get it onto the mount, you will want to adust the tv horizontally (meaning you will want to make sure it's centered the way you want it). Peerless says that you shouldn't adjust it more than 4 inches one way or the other. Once horizontally placed, you will put in the safety screws in the bottom (that was a little difficult, given the closeness of the mount to the wall, but if you have a long screw driver, it's simple). You can then loosen the vertical tilt knobs and adjust the tv vertically to your desire, and retighten the knobs.

Over all, very easy to install, very solid (Peerless says it will hold up to 150 lbs)--it's not going anywhere once mounted into the studs and the safety screws are in place. And a great bargain price.

The only thing I think could be a concern depending on your tv is that you might have trouble accessing the AV connections on the back. The Panasonic that I have has all the connections pretty low on the bottom, so I can use the tilt knobs to swing it up a bit and access the connections. My guess unless you buy one of those mounts that swings out, you would face that with any mount.

Very EZ to install, up in 15 mins. Comes in three pieces.

1) Find the center of two studs and attach wall mount to the wall,
2) Attach the other two pieces to your TV, (using the screws that comes with this mount)and
3) hang your TV to the wall...very easy.

Hint, you need to find the center of the studs and pre-drill holes, I used a sample stud finder that you can buy for around five bucks, you will also need a level, all the screws needed to hand the wall bracket and TV pieces came with this unit, (many screws comes in the package but you only use the correct screws for your TV). My TV was 88-pounds and the mount worked great, I have no fear that it would fall. The top of the TV pieces hook over the top of the mount so it made it easy to hang the TV, I needed two people to lift my TV (Samsung LNT4671F 46) I would highly recommend this mount.

This wall mount gives you everything you need to mount a variety of televisions. It comes with a comprehensive set of fasteners that should cover almost any TV. Plus, you can always check their website to make sure.

Once mounted, it gives the opportunity to tilt the TV up or down with ease. You just turn the knobs on both sides. tilt it, and re tighten the knobs. I have mine mounted high, so a good amount of tilt is important.

Mounting the frame is just a matter of screwing it into the wall. Of course, screwing it in may not be trivial, depending on the type of wall. In a typical home, it will be mounted to the wooden studs, and then just bolted in.

It seems simple, but you have to be able to find the studs. I have a good stud finder, and that was not a problem. Then you have to pick the right studs. You can mounting the bracket left or right up to 4 inches from where it would be centered on the studs, and you can move the TV side to side on the bracket to get the location

that you want. The amount of movement is limited not by the free space on each side, but by how far you can go and avoid the bracket showing on one side. If the TV is at least 8 inches wider than the bracket, there's no limiting factor, even if you need to move over by a stud.

The next challenge is getting it perfectly level, getting the height correct, so the top or bottom of the TV ends up where you want, and assuring that it's mounted exactly where you want. Measuring the TV, figuring out exactly where you want the bottom or top edge to be, and then measuring up from your edge location by half the height of the TV should put the center of the wall plate exactly where you want.

I was able to get it perfectly level, but it took quite a while to figure out the exact location in all directions, and to check and recheck with a level while doing it. If you are not putting it close to furniture, shelves, or wall edges, you may have more leeway than I did.

The instructions then say to put the bracket parts on the TV, and that's just a matter of screwing it in. They recommend getting the top and the bottom ends centered with respect to the TV. But doing that and being off by a fraction of an inch can undo all the effort that was needed to get the wall plate level. In retrospect, rather than trying for an exact measurement for the brackets, I probably would have been better off getting a close one, and then sliding them up or down so the screws were exactly against the top or bottom of the particular screw holes used.

It would have been nice if, in addition to all the adjustments that this has, it also had a screw to move either side up or down by a fraction of an inch, and with a big enough lip, that would make minor errors disappear.

Mine is close enough to a shelf that even a small height difference from one end to the other of the TV will show, and be difficult to fix. In my case, it was off by only 1/8 inch from one end to another, but it showed.

So in theory, you just mount the plate on the wall, screw the brackets in with two screws each, hang the TV, and tighten the screws. Then you adjust the knobs to get the right tilt, and you're done.

But my TV is heavy, and is mounted over six feet from the floor. Getting it on the plate required four people, and I was not about to take it down to readjust the brackets. So I ended up loosening the screws from behind with my hand under one edge, moving it slightly up or down, and re tightening the screws. Trying to do that with a level is a bit tricky.

This may not be an issue at all for a typical family room where you would strain your neck if you sat within ten feet of the television if it were mounted that high, but regardless, a single person would still have problems making any adjustments to level a TV if it were less than perfect after being mounted.

So if you are mounting it in a typical family room, don't really have an issue if the set is a couple of inches higher or lower, and mount the plate perfectly level, then as long as you keep the brackets level, you're set even if your measurements are not down to fractions of an inch. And if I had merely gone by the bottom of the screw hole I used instead of by the instructions and picture, I would have been fine too. If you are off a bit with the leveling of the plate, and it's easy enough to take your TV down, then moving the brackets will fix that problem too.

The bottom line is that this is probably a breeze in a typical situation, as long as you make sure the plate is level, especially if taking the set on or off is easy for a typical person or couple. But an extra adjustment for moving each side up or down by a fraction would have been nice.

Confidence-inspiring kit for a novice installer

This kit gave me a lot of confidence when I installed the mount. Instructions are very clear and include a lot of details, and the diagrams are excellent. Comes with a list of about 800 different TV models and which hardware to use for each. The hardware itself is a marvel of organization: 14 different labeled pouches so you can find exactly what you need instantly. I did need to purchase a couple of screws, but if you can wait they'll send them to you if you call. The instructions were written by someone whose first language is English. The level of detail of the instructions were down to things like making sure you center the brackets vertically on the TV, and how many threads to engage, and what torque you shouldn't exceed on the screws. Many folks won't need that much info, but if you have very limited experience at doing this type of thing like me, you'll appreciate it.

My point of comparison is a Simplicity kit which I returned when I discovered it was a store return and

EXACTLY what I expected and a great bargain

Not sure what everyone else is getting or what kind of visual impairments they may have when looking at a picture, but I got exactly what the picture shows. The view in the picture shows you the bracket from front to back...meaning that the 2 vertical pieces of steel you see are the pieces mounted to the TV (vertically) and the plate at the back of the picture is what mounts to your wall...those vertical brackets are spaced apart based on the size of your set, so the distance between the vertical brackets and the ends of the horizontal brackets will differ...Peerless makes a really nice bracket, which was my main reason for purchasing (have on at work for a similar set. Price was a close second. The stores and manufacturers sell the SAME bracket for $199 all over the place. Bracket markup is crazy right now because competition on the price of the actual set is where people focus.

This bracket was mounted on my wall and the TV (40" NEC LCD) was on the bracket in less than 30 minutes. The

I was expecting something else, but, I am happy with what I got. Mounting it to the studs was a piece of cake (read the instructions). Mounting to the TV was easy too... they supply tonnes of mounting screws and spacers.
Overall, it is excellent and does the job well. I wish they'd put the right picture up though.
