Canon Powershot 14.7-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

I've been into photography for more than 30 years and although I am not a professional, I do have some technical skill with the old SLRs. My first digital camera was a Nikon4300 which was the first generation of cameras of this type. It was an "ok" camera. Pictures came out decent but the lag time in between shots was annoying. It had "some" manual function which I liked but after 4 years of owning it I was ready to move up to something more similar to my old Minolta X700. So I decided to try this Canon and I'm not sorry I did. I've taken some great evening shots of NYC Times Square and I must say that they look fantastic!. I have pets and grandchildren who are always moving about and it's hard to get a great shot but this camera came through with flying colors! The auto focus and face detection is a life saver for sure. And it has all the manual controls I need to keep me busy with my creative side. All in all, this camera is a gem. It is "high end" for point and shoot and I'm

Canon PowerShot 8.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

I purchased this camera to replace my 3-year-old Konica/Minolta Dimage 6. The Konica had a 12X optical zoom, one of the reasons I purchased it in the first place. But the 12X optical zoom made the camera a little bulky. Too bulky to slip into my coat pocket or a small carrying case. Because of that, I found myself taking fewer and fewer photos. Enter the Canon PowerShot A590 IS. So far, I am totally happy with this camera. First of all, its size is perfect for me. It fits neatly into a coat pocket, or sometimes into even my pants pocket. Though it only has a 4X optical zoom, its 8MP ability allows me to PhotoShop the scenes I can't zoom in on enough with very little loss of resolution. I take the majority of my photos at the 5MP setting. At this setting, with a 4 Gb card, I can store over 2700 photos. The color settings are great too. I have the options of B/W, sepia, neutral, vivid, and custom. And the vivid setting lives up to its meaning; the colors just pop! I also chose

Nikon Coolpix P6000 13.5 Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

Once again Nikon goes all out with the latest edition of the P series point and shoot cameras. The Coolpix P6000 is the newest addition to the P series family, replacing last year's P5100. Loaded with onboard GPS, ethernet connection, VR( Optical Vibration Reduction),13.5 Mpegs, D Lighting and wireless flash, the P6000 finally brings to the table Vista compatible raw format.

Even though wireless flash has been around for a couple of years now and most notably on Olympus systems, it is still rather uncommon in point and shoot systems. As far as external lighting support goes, the P6000 operates with a single external speedlight. I am not totally sold on the wired ethernet connection but Nikon is betting that somewhere out there, someone may have the need to connect the camera to a router.

Unlike earlier models in the P series line, Nikon opens new doors with the NRW raw format. NRW is compatible with Vista's Windows Imaging Component codec API whereas NEF format is not. NRW format allows

I am a digital camera collector! I have the Canon rebel xti and wouldn't trade it for anything, but there are times when you need portability. I also have a canon powershot 790, love it, but needed some more pixels for extreme cropping. After a month of research it was between the G10 and the Nikon 6000. My previous experiences with Canon won out and I went with the G10. Out of box experience was perfect!! I shot about 100 photos, and was very happy! Sure, it isn't the fastest camera on earth and needs perfect light to stop movement, but I didn't need that, the Rebel can handle that! It is a perfect example of Canon's brillant true to life colors, and the extra pixels do allow me to close crop when needed. I also have the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 mainly for the optical zoom, and am amazed at the washed out colors of that compared to the G10. I am especially happy with the right on top exposure compensation dial... I use that often photographing black dogs in white snow, and it's great

Nikon 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black

This is my 3rd Camera. My first one was a Nikon Coolpix 4200 and then the Nikon L series and both of them were excellent camera. I have been wanting to buy a DSLR camera since a very long time and finally settled in for the Nikon D60. The product continues to amaze me. Its a very good entry level camera, good sturdy body, the auto lense cleaning meachanism is awesome. Pictures are just swesome if taken using the correct setting. Auto mode work just great for anybody. The futher advanced folks might wanna play around with the PSAM modes. I am a happy boy and love my new toy! Nikon is just awesome, overall its a GREAT camera, great product. I would certainly recommend this camera if you are looking for a sturdy, feature packed, great quality picture producing DSLR.

My daughter just opened her present this morning and she absolutely loves this camera. She already took about 90 pictures and video taped our celebrations. It is a very nice camera and we all look forward to hours of wonderful "shots":)

This is a great camera! Just point and push the button. It's that easy. My last camera was also a great camera ; which I had for over 3 years A510 and I would still have if it hadn't got broken at Thanksgiving.. I am loving this camera. The Pictures are wonderful. The zoom great. And you can't beat the price. I take a lot of pictures and this camera is perfect for me. I would recommend this camera. It is very user friendly.

Canon EOS 50D 15-Megapixel Digital SLR with 18-200IS Lens Kit

For a long time Canon user, this camera turned out to be an extreme disappointment. Over the years I trained myself (and suspect many other folks did) to not sallivate over Nikon bodies, instead concentrating on what matters - the sensor, quality lens lineup, and affordability that Canon has always offered in its semi-pro DSLRs. With 50D, all that is gone.

1. The sensor: has higher noise and lower dynamic range compared to predecessor (40D), competition (D90) and cheaper models (Rebel XSi) - I ran my own tests, but don't take my word for it and check other photography sites. I would like to remind to all those who say that the image quality is still decent that one of the main reasons one buys a DSLR is to use it for available light photography. So what if the sensor now has 15 megapixels and "gapless microlenses", if a shot of a sleeping child in a dimly lit room turns out worse than with a camera costing $400-$600 less? What exactly are you paying for? Of course, you can downsample

Canon EOS 50D 15-Megapixel Digital SLR with 18-200IS Lens Kit

I received the Canon 50D about a month ago and have already taken probably close to 500 photos. This is my first DSLR but I did a lot of researching before deciding on the 50D. So far I have been very pleased with this camera. The detail and clarity of the photos has been amazing. I bought the camera to photograph college sports and with around 6 frames a second I am excited to see what kind of shots I can capture. If you have any photography background at all you will pick up on the many features quickly. If you decided to capture in multiple formats, (raw and jpeg) at the same time you need something bigger than a 4GB card or at least 2, 4GB cards. You will get around 94 photos saving in the two formats at the same time. This camera is a little heavy but that is fine with me. I have a point and shoot camera for times when I don't need all the horse power of the Canon 50D. Overall this is a great camera worth every penny I spent on it.

Canon EOS 50D 15-Megapixel Digital SLR with 18-200IS Lens Kit

This review is for the beginner/hobbiest to the advanced amateur...this is simply a wonderful camera.

The 50D is very intuitive, not the least bit indimidating, and surprisingly easy to use considering the more advanced features Canon has put into it. I have not spent a lot of time learning all that this camera can do yet, but I am encouraged by the camera and it practically asks you do learn more about it...it wants you to take great pictures. I have always shot with a Canon, but this is my first DSLR (film die hard till the end) and I have been thrilled.

I left for a vacation in Curacao 3 days after opening the box so I had to learn on the fly (literally on the flight) and I was amazed how quickly the camera felt like I had owned it for years. I also discovered how addictive shooting digital can be (8GB minimum is a must) so I just the let the shutter burn and ended up taking over 1000 photos over 8 days.

On the coastline I put the camera in continuous mode and the high burst

Canon EOS 50D 15-Megapixel Digital SLR with 18-200IS Lens Kit

After owing a Canon EOS 10D camera, which was damaged while traversing a mountain stream during a photo shoot, I wanted to continue with a like-kind Canon replacement. The EOS 50D was just released in October. I purchased it and have been using it for one month now. The 50D is just like my now retired 10D but with a few upgrades.

One significant upgrade is the larger LCD display. It is crisp and sharp and easy to review images captured. While I do like the larger LCD display, there is a downside to the larger LCD display. I have found that my face inevitably touches the LCD display while looking through the viewfinder. This almost always leaves facial marks (oils) much like fingerprints all over the left side of the LCD display. I now find I must keep at-the-ready a soft, clean cloth to wipe it clean to review images clearly. While this is not necessarily a hardware issue, it is becoming somewhat of a major annoyance--especially when on a fast-paced photo shoot. Of course, unless one

This camera is truly an awesome camera. The picture quality is astounding! I upgraded from my Canon 20D. It is easy to use and uses all my previous Canon lenses. The larger digital viewing screen is great. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for Canon quality at a great price from Amazon.

I'm a big fan of Canon products so naturally when the 50D went on sale I had to have it. I own several Canon cameras, a G9, 20D and a film Eos A2E. This camera is head and shoulders better than the 20D. Everything about the 50D is first class. Glad I got it!

Nikon Coolpix P6000 13.5 Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

I am a big fan of Nikon and before buying this P&S, I got a D90 which is really phenomenal.
I did not have much time yet to review in details the performance of the P6000 but I want to share the first impressions I had from using it indoors for the past 3 days.

I must admit the performance of this camera is extremely disappointing
- Slow Focus
- Slow file saving on the memory card when selecting fine+raw
- Very slow continuous shooting
- You need to wait 5 seconds for the flash to be ready!!! This can completely ruin the picture you want to take! You cannot ask people to stand still for 5 long seconds to take a spontaneous picture. Nikon must absolutely do something about this.

After years of developments in cameras, this is simply not acceptable.

I had read on the web that P6000 is not as fast as the canon G10 but I would never have imagined I would be so much disappointed.

So think twice before buying this item if performance matters to you.
Should you have suggestions for me, please

Love this camera. Being a photographer I was looking for a point and shoot for little days out. The quality of the images are great. I am very happy with the product and thrilled I did not buy the newer version for a lot more money.

I've never written an Amazon review for any product before, but I feel that Canon has done such a superb job with the G10 that they deserve some kind words.

I am the former Color Editor at Popular Photography Magazine. I normally use a digital SLR, but I wanted a smaller, simpler camera for use in taking photos from an aircraft. I needed a camera that I could hold securely in one hand while flying the aircraft with the other. I have a Canon Elf, but it's almost impossible to hold the camera in one hand as it's just too small.

I guess I bought the G10 for its grip-ability. I assumed it would take reasonably good photos because I've always been happy with the digital Elf, but I was unprepared for how good it is. If you're a serious amateur or a pro, you will be more than happy with the photographs the G10 produces. The results are stunning. The feature set is just as good. Your every need has been anticipated and a control positioned closely at hand. Easy ISO setting, exposure compensation,

FUJIFILM FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

I bought this S1000 to replace my S700. Why? more megapixels and a few more features. The S700 still works beautifully and I gave it to a friend who wanted a Digital camera but is having some financial difficulty. She's absolutely thrilled with the S700 as I was and I'm even more thrilled with the S1000.

Some of the many great features of the S1000 are that it can take a SD card up to 16 gigs! I immediately bought a 16 gig SD card. The means you can do hours of video and the video feature on this camera is excellent for a camera having that feature. The colour, resolution and clarity are superb. The automatic face detection is great and accurate. The zoom is smooth and and gives great pics at a long distance unlike a lot of other cameras out there at a much higher cost. The operation is beyond user friendly. I've had digital cameras for several years and I hav eto say that Fuji is just plain the best out of all them. This actually is the third Fuji I've owned. I'm gadget freak and just

Nikon Coolpix P6000 13.5 Megapixel Digital Camera - Black

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a great camera. I have two Pentax k-1000's, Nikon 808, Nikon D-100 and now this! I had an accident In Jan 06' and since then i haven't been able to work professionally as my d-100 was too heavy for me to carry on my shoulder and hold. I'd been discouraged with so many light weight cameras out there, too much noise, light sensors were horrible and the list went on and on. So finally this came out and still looking after two years i found this one. I was skeptical at first and turned off, since amateur photographers rave about the digital little point and shoots and even their cell phone cameras for that matter! But i decided to give it a try. Within a week i had shot over 500 pics and now have my true love for photography back. I love the fact it has a manual focus, which really works and shows your depth of field. The colors are awesome and even has settings you can set yourself to increase your contrast and tonality. Depending on if you are inside or

Upgraded from Digital rebel XTi primarily for functionality (heavily invested in Canon lenses, so Nikon wasn't an option)... I am the person who doesn't usually care for "fancy" features, but the first thing that you notice is the difference in the LCD display. Makes it very easy to review pictures ... I usually shoot my indoor shots without flash, I like the warm feel of pictures it produces, but often causes the pictures to be blurry. Often you can't see that the picture is blurry until it has been downloaded to the computer and then it is too late to rewind time and fix it. So LOVE the detail this LCD shows and the excellent contrast it offers.

The wheel makes browsing through pictures a lot easier. The joystick based menu makes it easy to customize your settings. The LCD display on top gives you a quick glance at all the settings without having to look inside the viewfinder (also great for checking/showing a newbie what settings you are using and why). The C1 and C2 settings can be
