After having done much research and product comparisons, as well as going to stores and actually comparing the difference in picture quality between the different television set-ups. I came to purchase this TV through Amazon. I purchased it through here because I got it cheaper than I could find anywhere else and with free white glove delivery. I was in all honesty a bit skeptical about the delivery service at the time, but they showed up when scheduled to and helped me take the TV out of the box and place it where it needed to be. They also took the box away for me.
Picture quality:
Full HD is 1080p, which is this TV's native resolution. And let me tell you, the quality of the picture is obvious even for someone who does not care much about it, or just doesn't know much about it. My Dad was instantly impressed when he came to visit me (and he isn't one for technology). Also, the contrast ratio on this TV is just about as good as it gets without going to Plasma or the LCD technology

A great set for the living room, well worth the money. The Sony "V" series of LCD sets have all the same features as the more expensive "W" series sets, with the exception that the "V" series sets don't have the 120hz motion enhancer feature or the logo illumination feature. I think the average viewer won't notice the difference.

I've had this TV for about a month now, all I can say is I have no regrets about this purchase. Of course after heavy researching, it came down to this TV based on what I was particularly looking for - form and function. I realized the new TVs Samsung has coming out, but I didn't want to wait for them to be released and then wait again for it to become affordable, so this was the best. Having a previous Samsung SlimFit TV did sway me to stick with the brand as that TV was beautiful (but TOO heavy).
The pluses and minus:
- BEAUTIFUL
The red finish that borders around the TV is sleek and subtle (and matches the red accents in my living room, PLUS!). Please note that the red on the 650 version is only on the top and bottom, which looked a little odd for me. The 650 also has that (what I considered super ugly) oval shaped stand compared to the rectangle here.
- USB INPUT and DLNA
I can watch movies I save onto a USB that I plug into the TV. And with DLNA, I can just attach a LAN cable to

This is my first HDTV and what an amazing set it is. For just a hair over a grand I purchased a glorious TV. This set has amazing picture, serviceable sound, and eye pleasing aesthetics. I'm still in awe from when it was delivered.
I encourage anyone who is apprehensive about purchasing this online to lay your doubts to rest because the price can't be beat for the timely and prompt delivery service. Plus, as a bonus, there is no shipping or tax to concern yourself with.
Enjoying movies, games, and TV programs have never felt so pleasurable. Do yourself a favor if you've been stalking this product and pull the proverbial trigger. You'll thank yourself for it.

Received the TV it was packaged for shipping very well.
Took it to my computer room and connected it up and it worked very well from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Suddenly it would not display the the upper HD Channels. I came to the conclusion that the new TV was not the problem. Somehow it had to be my newly installed COX HDMI receiver for the new TV. Contacted COX the next day they came out and located a filter that had been previously installed by COX in the line serving the modem for my computer and now the new Sony TV. After the COX one way filter was removed from the cable line I have enjoyed watching the HD channels very much on the new Sony HD LCD TV. Excellent clear 1080 pixcel pictures. Can't wait to watch the Olympic games this month on the newly received TV.

The Samsung LN40A750 is absolutely the finest 40", flat panel, Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) television (TV) "on the planet"...for every property, every characteristic and every function. I found NO negative aspects about this TV whatsoever nor could I think of anything negative to say about this TV. This just has to be today's "Gold Standard" of television receivers.

This full motion mount is extremely durable. I was surprised at how heavy it is. I had a contractor install it for me in the corner of the bedroom and it is perfect for my 42" flat screen.

I've just spent an hour comparing this new, "budget"-priced Sony to a number of pricier sets which, if Amazon sales are any indicator, are currently killing Sony in sales. Not only did the Sony's picture compare favorably (to put it politely) with more expensive Samsung models, but it looked as good as its own pricier siblings in the V, W, Z, and XBR series.
You could be forgiven for assuming Sony is out of the business of making HD TVs if you looked at the 50 best-selling sets on Amazon (there's no more than 2-3 Sony's listed, with Samsung occupying approximately 40 of the spots). But such a conclusion would be highly premature and terribly mistaken. According to mid-year sales figures, Sony is still edging out Samsung in North American sales and is closing in on the Korean manufacturer in world-wide sales, with a goal of pulling ahead by 2010. In fact, the company's development of revolutionary OED (Organic Electro-Luminescence) technology is currently the talk of the industry.

I consider my self pretty low tech and wanted to leave my review for people who may be in the same boat as I am. I wanted a larger TV and I wanted simplicity, quality and not to wonder if it was all a waste.
Well I am super satisified with this TV for the following reasons.
1. Easy to set up. I don't have cable and it just scanned for all the HD and analog stations and that was pretty much about it.
2. Great sound. I don't have a stereo system to hook up to and so it was important that the TV's speakers could, well, speak for themselves. They are very good.
3. Picture is super and seems to adjust itself to suit whatever type of input (HD, Analog, DVD, Video) is coming in. People Don't look short and squat. Everything looks great, and full size and I don't have to do any adjusting when I change a channel.
Note: I will say that using a standard video tape produces an okay picture, but I assume this is the same for every TV. When I play DVD using my computer and connect to TV

This tv is simply awesome. I ordered it about a week and a half ago and was quite worried that I was going to have problems with the shipping cause of what other reviewers had said. so i placed the order, and less than a week later i saw on the tracking that they had tried to call me about delivery but i never got that call, so i called them up and they transfered me to the company that was actually delivering the tv to me. we scheduled a drop off between 9 and 1 the following day. i was up at 8 in anticipation of having my new tv and the delivery guy came at 9:20 and offered to unpack and test the tv which i declined. the set up was very easy. im glad there are 4 hdmi ports because i am already using 3 of them with my upconverting dvd player, hd/dvr and my xbox 360. the picture is incredible. after looking online at forums i found the calibration that was just right for all my different inputs and i could not be happier. i was worried that there was going to be nasty glare off

I bought this after reading many professional reviews and customer comments on a number of LCDs. I also spent more time than necessary debating whether to purchase the 650 or the 750. Overall, I am amazed at the picture quality. I already owned a 1080p 50 inch Samsung plasma from a purchase in 2007. My only regret so far is not having two of these new LCDs rather than an LCD and a plasma. My personal opinion is that the LCD picture quality is better than the plasma. I actually like the pre-programmed content, although I admit to being skeptical when I made the purchase. I plan on trying the other features of the TV soon. For now, I am thrilled with my decision and have not had a single microsecond of buyer's remorse. The price on Amazon was by far the best that I found.

I bought this TV from an another store during a Mother's Day weekend sale and have not regretted it since. Awesome TV for the price. I paid about $50 more, and it works with virtually everything unless you're looking for 1080p with bluray, HDDVD, XBOX 360 or PS3. My Wii looks great on it even though that's only 480p. I have not tried running 1080i through this system yet although other reviews have said it's possible.
Basically, if you're looking for an impressive TV with an affordable price this is your TV. Wish I could write a real review of this KDL-46XBR4, but since it stopped working after three hours of arrival at my home, I can't. I didn't even get to finish setting it all up. Good reviews overall, but if you aren't lucky, you're in for a world of hurt. This is day 34 since the television arrived, and there is still no resolution to the problem. First I was given two service tech firms to contact. Neither do home warranty in my area. One even laughed at me and told me that they'd look at it if I brought it to them. Imagine that, me in a compact sedan with a 46" diagonal HDTV television in the back seat. Yeah, right. Sony then directed me to a third firm. An appointment was made for nearly two weeks in the future, and they only come out on a Tuesday, so I had to take that and take time off work. Tech guy diagnosed the problem as three - yes, three! - bad circuit boards. He made a return appointment for, yep, two weeks in the future when the parts would have arrived. He suggested,

Let me first start off by saying that this T.V. is great! You cannot go wrong with this set. Both the picture and the sound are flawless. The price dropped $129.00 within the 30 days after purchase and Amazon refunded the difference (you have to contact them to have this done, it won't be done automatically). White glove service was excellent. The company brought the set into my house, took it out of the box and set it onto the entertainment unit. They hooked up the cables, took out the remote from the plastic bag, put the batteries in and handed the remote to me. They then asked me to turn on the set to see if the picture was ok. They also offered to take the box with them when they left. Now I live in the Phoenix, AZ area and I know that the delivery service may be different depending where you live, but out here it surely was white glove.

Consumer Reports (7/08) rated this TV as outstanding, and it is. After comparing screen size (37", 40", 46") in a local store, I checked pricing online. While some of the bot engines and Amazon MarketPlace sellers were less expensive than Amazon, Amazon's 30-day price protection guarantee and White Glove delivery service won me over. Prices have dropped twice since my purchase; Amazon promptly issued a refund for the difference. Some of the MarketPlace sellers provide curbside delivery only. Amazon's While Glove service set up a Saturday delivery, came within the appointed time window, and most importantly set up the TV to make sure it worked. I'm impressed!

This is my third experience with HDTVs and the best thus far. The picture quality of this set is superb. The color is dead on out of the box, almost no need for any further adjustments. The set like all LCDs has a very bright picture but sacrifices little in the contrast ratio. The darks almost stand up to the plasmas. The 120 Hz refresh rate is a must for any high end LCD. This has eliminated the pixilation associated with high speed action moments seen on other digital TVs. The sound coming from the system is crisp but the available volume levels are nothing to write home about. George Lucas would have you buy a high end surround sound system to fully complement the TV. The remote control could have been better. The scroll wheel serves no purpose except to frustrate you every time you miss your selection. The styling of this set is awesome. This TV is absolutely stunning, and high tech. It has all of the bells and whistles and was priced just right. I am transitioning to HD but the picture is coming in crystal clear now, so I can just imagine how much more blown away I will be once I get a Blu Ray disc player and a HD receiver.
If you are trying to decide between a 650 model or a Sony TV, THIS is the better deal. The 750 only cost a few bucks more than the 650 and the Sony televisions with all of these features cost So much more in price.
I am absolutely satisfied with this television, and don't forget to check the price after you buy it because the price will fluctuate and that's just money back in your pocket.

I have had this tv for three months and it has worked perfectly. I haven't had any of the problems mentions in other reviews such as fan noise and clouding. The picture is aboslutely stunning when watching a blu-ray movie. The sound from the speakers is good so there is no rush to get a sound system. Free shipping from Amazon made buying it from them the best value...just be proactive and contact CEVA (the delivery company) when it arrives at your local hub to schedule a delivery time instead of waiting for them to call you which may take a couple of extra days.

Just received this truly beautiful set. The delivery people were not as "white glove-y" as some other reviewers reported. They simply put the set where I told them to, turned it on and made sure it worked and left with the box. But the remote is extra-easy to use, the instructions are very straightforward and the picture is great. I don't even mind the on/off noise that seems to bother some. This is a set you actually want to display somewhere - it's that cool-looking.
