I can't believe it! I thought it was ME. I got mine from QVC. The first one I got just wouldn't start after a week. Press the button. Nothing. QVC exchanged for anther HP G60 16" Notebook, Win 7, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, I did a lot of work on it last night--for hours. Got up this morning and not only did the cursor freeze the image is upside down! I didn't know that could happen. I'm not wasting an hour playing with customer service while HP blames it on Windows 7 and compatibility issues. It's going back to QVC. With QVC you have thirty days to return anything you buy from them. It's a shame because it's a beautiful laptop, I loved the separate number keys--but I can't handle something wrong with a computer so fast.

From what I have read on these timeline series, updating your Graphics Driver and LAN driver might fix the problem with the CPU usage spiking during idle. If the unit runs slow when its unplugged but it runs fine when plugged in, its probably some kind of power save utility or setting, set to slow down when unplugged to save battery life.
