Creative Zen Mozaic 2GB Flash Portable Media Player-ZEN MOZAIC 2GB PINK PERP
Well, I received my 4gb pink Mozaic today, and I'm very happy with it :]
I once owned a Creative Zen Vision:M, 30gb, until I lost it in the gym... It was an excellent player with a few quirks (it was somewhat laggy) but quite a brick - I dropped it about 4-5x and yet it still survived.

Well, back to the Mozaic, to break it down,

Pros:
+ The player is small and unobtrusive if you want to put it in your pocket
+ The pink is a nice shade
+ Easy to navigate through the menus
+ I was able to drag and drop music directly into the player's "Music" folder on my computer and play it immediately
+ Although the shell is made of plastic, it is very, very sturdy. I feel that I could drop it several times with minimal damage (not that I'm going to test this out!)
+ The screen is bright and vivid
+ You can save up to 32 radio stations
+ Radio signal itself is alright; just make sure you have your headphones plugged in, as they act as the antenna.
+ The speaker is decent, but not up to audiophile standards

Philips 4 GB SA3245 Digital Audio/Video Player (SA3245/37)
I don't normally right reviews but felt it was my duty to do so with this product. I purchased this product at Wal-Mart. My initial impression was that it was a slick and stylish player. Very small, compact, thin... So far so good.

The problem comes when you actually try to use it. Not user friendly at all. It's very easy to add music files to the player, however, it is very difficult to play them as expected. YOU CAN'T MAKE A PLAYLIST!!!! I am used to adding tons of music to a player and making all sorts of play lists that I can pick from depending on my mood or activity. Not having this feature is unacceptable. I should say that you can make a "play list" but only by pressing the "play list" button every time a song comes on that you like. Not only is that a pain, it is hard to press the button hundreds of times to add the songs to a list as the button is so small which causes you to miss it most of the time. The player can only have one list at a time. Each time you want

Philips 4 GB SA3245 Digital Audio/Video Player (SA3245/37)
I agree w/ the second reviewer.... WHY have a menu item playlists (notice the plural) & not let you make any playlists, my phone is a better mp3 player in those respects, I should not have wasted my money, I stupidly thought a machine dedicated to only one purpose would have more music playing features -not less :

Creative Zen Mozaic 4GB Flash Portable Media Player-ZEN MOZAIC 4GB SILVER PERP
It sounds very good has very good battery life. The built-in speaker is pretty handy. It does not have back-lit keys which makes it difficult to use in low light.

One caveat. I don't use or plan to use the video features.
I would buy it again.

Creative Zen Mozaic 2GB Flash Portable Media Player-ZEN MOZAIC 2GB PINK PERP
I was immediately taken aback by this player. Its design took some time to get used to, but after seeing it up close and getting used to its controls, i feel like it is a good choice for any casual music listener.

The Good: 1. I like the design of it. Something new is always good for a market that has nothing different to give these days. 2. The sound quality is excellent. 3. The battery life is Amazing! I clocked in at 41.3 hours with all 128kbps songs and the screen off thanks to the lock. i havent done test with 192kbps songs yet, but i dont think it really matters too much. 4. Navigation is another plus. not just the default layout, but the customizability of it. you can move the menus around, add, delete, and set a certain item to the hotkey. this gave me the feeling that it was actually "My" mp3 player, unlike the Sansa, Ipod, and Zune mp3 players that do not allow any modification of the default layout.

The Bad: 1. Slow buttons. i noticed that when i scroll through the menus,

Archos Inc ARCHOS 105 2GB USB2 BLACK
I was mainly interested in the video playback features of this unit. I did listen briefly to the sample MP3s that came on the device, and they sounded fine to me. File transfer and charging are via a 5-pin mini-USB connector. Under Windows, you access the device through Explorer under the path My Computer\a105\Internal Storage.

While you can directly place music and photo files through Explorer, video files must be converted and transferred using Windows Media Player. Consequently the Archos 105 requires video files in windows media (WMV) format. The resultant file that resides on the device is about 75 MB per hour, which means you should be able to cram 20-25 hours of video on the 2GB of internal flash (non-expandable). In the settings, you can choose for a video to playback once and stop, or to loop. In my test it played video for about 4.5 hours on a single charge. While the screen is small (160 x 128 pixels), it's good enough to watch tv shows on. You can fast forward and

Creative Zen Mozaic 4GB Flash Portable Media Player-ZEN MOZAIC 4GB SILVER PERP
I've had the Zen Mozaic 4 GB for about a week now, and I love it! Here is just a short list of the pros and cons I have noticed.

Pros:

Price - It's very cost-effective for the tons of features included!

FM Radio - The radio signal strength is unimpressive, but a plus nonetheless, since many don't offer this feature. Note: the radio antenna is built into the headphones, so with just the built-in speaker, there is no radio reception at all. Headphones must be plugged in.

Alarm clock - I love being able to set the song that I wake up to, and with the built-in speaker it works much like a cell-phone alarm clock.

Built-in speaker - Now you can share a song with a friend without sharing your headphones. The speaker sounds better than I thought it would considering how small the device is. I wouldn't listen to it for hours, but it's a nice additional feature.

Battery Life - When they say 30+ hours, they're not joking. Very impressive battery life.

Cons:

Plastic - The whole thing

Philips 4 GB SA3245 Digital Audio/Video Player (SA3245/37)
I bought this product a week ago and am returning it asap, and I rarely return things, as I can usually find a way to work around things. I am a previous owner of an iPod Nano, and that may be coloring my criticisms, so take this as some disclosure.

First, I found that random shuffle isn't really random. On the iPod I had, when I requested a random shuffle, it would actually shuffle the music and I could not detect any patterns in music sequence between any two shuffles. Not so with GoGear. Over the course of a week, I could detect patterns such that when song A was playing, I knew what the next 10 songs would be, and that was irritating. Not only did the same patterns repeat, they repeated on a small subset of songs -- there were tons of songs that were never played when in random mode!

Second, I thought that I could circumvent that by making playlists. The users guide and online FAQ said I could do this through Windows Media Player. That may be true of some of the other models

Walkman 2GB MP3 Player (Internal Flash Drive, FM Tuner, 33 Hours)
Forget spending more for an iPod, this little player is awesome! Got this for my birthday and absolutely LOVE it! First of all, the sound quality is as wonderful as I would expect from Sony. The interface is easy to use for loading on songs and it took no time at all for me to learn to navigate the menus. I was worried about space but I have about 500 songs loaded with plenty of space left for more. I haven't had a problem at all with battery life, the manual says 33 hours and while I haven't kept track, I have gone a very long time without having to charge it up. The video screen is small but pictures come out crisp and clear and videos look great! All in all I think my husband made a great choice!

Just a few minor complaints. 1. I wish the USB connector was the same as the one used by my blackberry so I'd have one less cord to deal with. 2. The headphones that come with the unit have great sound quality but are really uncomfortable. 3. Wish that there were more accessories for

Samsung YP-K3JQB 2GB MP3 Player-2GB Ultra Slim MP3 Player
I bought this player for my 14 year-old daughter. It seemed to be an excellent option. The product is great looking, the sound is fine, etc. However, 4 months later the product simply "blacked out". It just did not turn on, so it became useless. When we called Samsung's service center, they asked for the serial number in order to repair it. Unfortunately the serial number was printed on a small paper label that was on the back of the player, and at some point in time it must have fallen off. Now the product will not be serviced by Samsung, and our money will go down the drain.

Sandisk Sansa E250 1.8-inch 2G MP3 Player (Refurbished)
These are nice mp3 players the navigation is a little hard to control, but so is the ipods. I like the fact that it has a fm radio, but it doesn't get to good of reception where i live. I think it is better than the ipod, but not too much compaired to other mp3 and mp4 players.

Philips SA3125 MP3/WMA, 2 GB
This player has it all! Better than the name-brand player in my opinion, because it includes radio--a feature that a certain seller of mp3 players will never include in their unit because they want to make you to buy music from their website, of course. This player plays windows media audio files in addition to MP3s, but not wma_pro files, so keep that in mind you windows media player version 10+ users. The unit does play video, not the greatest quality, only 11 frames per second, but only in a certain format, and there is a converter software included with the player, to convert (it can take much longer to convert the video than it does to watch the video...) from various formats to the format that is played on this unit. 2GB is great capacity when you are using 64kbps wma (equivalent to 4GB music in MP3 format). In addition to all these great features, it also records voice in a reduced bit wav format. Battery life is superb, easy to navigate, although the scrolling is a bit slow when

Sandisk Sansa E250 1.8-inch 2G MP3 Player (Refurbished)
It keeps freezing up and now this time after trying to do a update on it, it is frozen up and won't clear up. I have taken the battery out for the night and this morning it is still stuck on "database refresh". Can't seem to get a good solution for this on going problem either. This has been going on for about a year now, but this time it has had it I guess and is ready for the trash. I would search other places for product review besides amazon before buying, because there is a whole lot of other people out there having the same problems with this and the other 200 series as well and customer service is poor. I will never spend money on a SanDisk product again.

Walkman 2GB MP3 Player (Internal Flash Drive, FM Tuner, 33 Hours)
I have the 4gb version, but this review applies to this player as well.

I listen to allot of books that I download from my library system using Overdrive, which uses protected wrm files. I was excited to see this player as a compatible one on the overdrive library website so purchased it.

Everything the reviewers say about this player, the battery life, easy user interface, great sound, etc. are true, so I like the player from these aspects.

The problems in using this player for audiobooks is twofold. First there are no bookmarks. My listening tracks are about 70 minutes long. If I want to listen to FM, I can easily switch over to it. However, when I go back to music, the player acts like I am starting over. I have to find the the file I was listening to and then fast forward through it until I find my place in the book.

Second, the fast forward/backward option. My old Creative Muvo would accelerate the fast forward the longer I hold down the button. So moving forward from

Samsung yepp YPK3JQR 2GB MP3 Player-2GB Ultra Slim MP3 Player
Overall this is a fairly good product. I like the option of the FM radio in addition to the MP3, screen looks good, easy to use. The down side is that the battery doesn't seem to last very long, the plug for the USB doesn't seem to stay in very well when charging, and the software is not very intuitive. All in all it is still a good option over the iPod especially for a kid.

Sandisk Sansa E250 1.8-inch 2G MP3 Player (Refurbished)
If you use your MP3 player for music only, my one star review is very harsh. For the money, it is a decent player if you never listen to anything over five minutes long. However, if you listen to audiobooks or podcasts, do not buy this player. I have used about a dozen different players over the past few years and I have never ever seen one so ill suited for playing lengthy files. There is no bookmarking feature and the fast forward is so slow that it is completely useless. You cannot start and the end of a track and rewind back to your spot either. Worse yet, it seems like the designers almost were determined to make it impossible for someone to maintain their spot on a long track. The record button has a hair trigger and is very difficult not to accidentally touch, and you had better manage to listen to that audiobook on one batter charge, because recharging will also cause you to loose your spot.

2GB moVox MP4 - Black
It does not play mp4. It boggles the mind how they can call it an mp4 player when it does not support mp4. The user interface is terrible, truly unintuitive and a pain to work with. That said, once you figure out the players quirks and limitations it works fine.
