Insignia 26" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV DVD Combo
+ 0 likes
While the screen works alright - the response sometimes is awful - the menu stinks.

Channels are duplicated (sometimes 7 channels of the same frequency need to be removed from add/remove channels selection, and then they will mysteriously add themselves again).

"Favorites List" will sometimes disappear, reappearing only when the unit's power is cycled.

Channel Labels randomly delete.

Menu is difficult to cycle through (for example: to put unit on "sleep" 13 menus must be search through.)

All of these problems are intermittent, and if the unit would be hooked up to a cable box, the problems might not be an issue. However, a device close to $400 really should have better programming and better reliability. At times the unit stops responding at all, and like computers from the 90's, must be unplugged to restart proper functions.

Sad really.

Don't buy this unit, save your money.

Great tv, this was actually my second one of the same model. I bought one for the bedroom and this one will be for my son and his movies! It has a great picture and is a great size. Not to mention is light and easy to move around.

We wanted a slim design HDTV to mount high on the wall in the corner of our kitchen dining area, replacing a Polaroid TV that died after only 5 years of use. The Samsung offered a larger picture with about the same dimensions. Much better picture quality.

I have a problem with the layout out of the function controls on the remote as well as the "Favorites" and the "Input" functions. Placement of the functions I use most often (channel up/dn, volume up/dn, mute, jump) are at the lower end of the remote making it awkward to hold and press buttons.
To use the "Favorites" function, you have to press the function button to get the list, the scroll to the desired channel, the press the center button in the joy stick. That's three key strokes, when you could simply press the channel buttons once or twice depending on the desired channel. The Samsung I replaced required only pressing the favorites button to scroll to the desired channel - much easier and simpler.
To use the "Input" function, you have to press the button to get the list, then scroll to the desired function, then press the center joystick button. On my old Samsung, you could simply press the Input button and it would switch to a second function. Much simpler.

Toshiba 26LV610U 26-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, Black
+ 0 likes
The picture is very good. It is easy to use. The DVD is nice. At about 6 months, the picture failed. Toshiba's warranty covers the repair but it is the responsibility of the customer to ship the product to MA. It cost $125 to ship a defective $400 TV back to be repaired. The shipping should have been the responsibility of Toshiba in addition to the cost of the repair.

No problems so far. Easy setup right out of the box without looking at any directions at all. I was surprised with the extras that came with this TV like the large cleaning cloth, remote holder, cables, and even a computer monitor cable. The one thing I am not pleased about is the DVD player. I tried to get info on this while standing at the store, but no one could confirm if it was a standard or upconvert or what. To me it seems a little silly to put a built in 480P DVD player in a 720P TV! The price difference for a model with and without is $60. I was able to buy an Insignia upconvert for only $40. But because I wanted this for a bedroom TV, space was a premium, and the reason for the built in DVD player. However the picture quality of the upconvert DVD player was worth it. I only wish I had not bothered getting the higher priced TV with the built in standard DVD player. There is a strong odor coming from this TV also. It is very much like I have noticed from other new electronics in

I was looking for a smaller than 40 inch set for a bedroom and this tv is the perfect size. Relatively thin so perfect for wall mounting and the picture is excellent. While not up to the LN52A650 by Samsung (and nothing really is) for the price you will not find a better picture than this set. The menu's are easy to navigate. Operation is flawless and with 3 HDMI inputs its got plenty for most applications. This set is less in cost than the 550 model mainly because it doesnt have the side inputs which for me i dont use in the bedroom and would rather save the $100 or so odd dollars. If you wanted them later you could easily run a wallplate with them to a another location which actually makes for a cleaner install. Samsung is the best picture out there and is worth a few extra dollars. I fully expect many years of trouble free service from this set as thats been my experience with this brand. Also register online for their warranty and they add 3 months to the end of it at no cost just for

I bought this TV for our living room. I didnt want anything big and bulky. It has great picture quality and many different settings such as theater, normal and vivid. There are more picture settings I just cant think of them all. The TV comes from the factory with the sound at a quiet level. You can change the bass and treble volumes to adjust it to the volume you most like. You can also change the sound from standard to surround. Most reviews state the volume is not that great but if you take the time to go in and change the factory settings( very simple to do by the way) this tv will blow you out of the room with its surround sound capability(just the tv no actual surround sound equipment attached). I feel as though I stole this TV for the price I got it for. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone and everyone!

The DVD player stopped working on my model after only 2 months of ownership. I went back to the store to turn it in to take advantage of the two-year warrantee. Two separate Best Buy employees told me that the TV/DVD combos are notoriously bad for breaking down--are lemons, effectively. Now I have to either put up with a busted DVD player, or ship the model in to be fixed, which I understand takes up to a month. If Best Buy employees are telling me that I shouldn't have purchased this TV/DVD combo, then I certainly can't recommend it to anyone.

I am in the Army, Best Buy got me this tv out of California to Afghanistan in under two weeks. I think the price was good at 429, no tax, and no shipping. I am glad I chose this size for my 8x9 room. It has the headphone jacks which work well, although you really need a headset with a long cord, I do have one! Its a 60hz, and a 720, great picture, no issues. I am only sad it doesn't have a usb port, but my xbox 360 does, so no worries. I would buy this again, I did my research and I am very happy with this tv and the exceptional price.

WARNING >>> WARNING>>> WARNING!!! If you're buying this to serve as a computer monitor, it is perhaps the best value out there for this screen size, especially if you do intensive graphics or Autocad. At the same time, and since it has a built-in Tuner, it can serve as an emergency TV set at the office, whether the office is inside or outside your residence. If you are buying it to serve primarily as an HDTV, however, Stop right here and Read: This is Not a 16X9 Screen; this is a 16 X 10.5 .... Read carefully: The Ratio of this screen is Not a 16 X 9 .... It is 16 X 10.5 ..... You will Not be able to obtain a true Wide Screen Image on this TV ! .... The tuner send the signal processed for Wide Screen Yet there is No Wide Screen to Display it as processed, the result is a vertically stretched image. This cannot be corrected. As a Computer Monitor, I will give it 4 Stars. .... As an HDTV, however, I can only give it no rating what so ever .... Zero Stars as a TV....! This should be

This TV is exactly what I wanted. Good picture, good sound and a sleek look and it's very intuitive - we didn't even have to open the user manual. Set up took about 5 minutes from the time we opened the box. No complaints!!!

This is my second Samsung tv I have, I purchased this one for my bedroom, the other one I have is our main TV. This TV is a little pricier than most other brands but when you look at the quality and style it makes sense. The picture quality is excellent, good vibrant and clear colors. The setup is very easy, basically plug it in, do a channel search and your done. As far as the sound quality, I didn't notice any issues with it.

I was skeptical when I first did my homework on the Dynex brand. After getting educated, I decided to purchase this model from BestBuy. Wow!! I purchased this unit earlier in the summer, and I couldn't be happier. The HD quality pops. The sound is actually quite good, contrary to some other postings. I would highly recommend the purchase of this TV to anyone looking to replace their outdated bedroom unit.

I just got this TV Friday 11/6 and I simply love it. It was easy to set up. The picture looks great. But my biggest compliment was that it was only in 720p and it makes the new PS3 games look amazing with a HDMI cable.

This TV is only temporary for me till after Black Friday when all the prices will drop dramatically. And I can get my 42" or 47" inch.

But for all you gamers or a people who needs an affordable HDTV, this Dynex 720p is a steal and looks great with Dish Network HD. They did a good job on this model. I don't see why other people have negative reviews, this TV is GREAT!!!

We went to just look at TV's. We checked out the whole line of 19-26" HDTV's at BestBuy. Some were more pricey than this with less features. This was a very good buy as it was on sale. With the money we saved we were able to get the 4yr. warr. and buy 3 DVD movies to enjoy. I would recommend this TV- DVD combo to my friends and family members. Enjoying it, Jimmy J and family

Had this set about a month. Works great for the bedroom. DVD player is a plus. The only thing I don't like is the remote control. It would be OK if it had a button to switch back to the previous channel, and buttons for favorite channel settings - I'm used to these features on the remote control for my Sharp tv. I'd like to know if a universal remote would work on this tv/dvd.

I use it mainly as a computer monitor/tv. Works just fine for me and it does not hardly generate any heat. plus the fact i'm not the kind of guy that just blows money on everything i see so for the money this is a very good tv.

I have to Amit that I love this tv alot! Great Picture. can't believe that it gets extra channels through basic cable. not to mention that those extra channels are digital and are in HD. Dvd player is alright. Two flaws. Can't read mp3 cd's. and its not hd. But its good enough. Colors are more vivd. More bold. very sharp. My xbox 360 looks great through HDMI. viewing angle could be a little better but other than that. Its just fine. Speakers are a little weak at first. But if you change the bass settings, it will sound a lot better. love all the connections. 3 HDMI's two composites. and a couple of componets. The remote is very nice. and a dvd output is nice so you can use a different tv. Just in case if the lcd goes a little funky. The Lcd itselft is very bright. And the last thing I am going to say is I love this Tv. Get it while you can!
