Coby TFDVD2697 26-Inch Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor with DVD Player and HDMI Input, Black

I ordered this TV online. When it was delivered the picture was sharp but the sound was awful. In order to understand what someone was saying you had to turn it up to loud to comfortably watch a program. I put in a movie and never got it back. I returned it with the DVD because the manufactuer was unable to help retrieve it by phone. I was disappointed in Best Buy for selling such a bad product. This is the first review I have written in hopes of saving someone else the trouble. Don't buy this TV!

Toshiba 26LV610U 26-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, Black

This unit sets up quickly - important as it was purchased for our RV and we travel year-round. Only two picture sizes are awkward. Non Hi-def channels are only mediocre, but hi-def are great. There is an annoying red cast to the picture which cannot be tweaked fully. Unfortunately, we'll keep it as our space is limited. We already returned two Insignia 26" LCD?DVD combos which BOTH degraded in both sound and photo quality within 6 weeks. But the picture size options were far superior. The Insignia remote was also better than the Toshiba, which cost more. I don't recommend this TV for cost or quality.

Have had the TV for a week. First impressions are that it is very stylish and great size for smaller rooms like a den. I like the remote even though I now use my cable remote. I like the sound as I calibrated the TV volume with the cable box volume - excellent. By the way to the review complaining about the Toshiba name lighting up on the front - it can be turned off (go thru settings). Now, the picture can be dark with certain shows like dark dramas. I would think that movies like Batman would be annoyingly dark. On the other hand, sports like the Olympics and outdoor shows are actually very nice and crisp. For a small room I give it a yes. For a medium room I give it a no. I will say yes but with reservations.

Price was great. Quality just as good or better than higher priced name brands. Great for bedroom, Was disappointed at first because picture was fuzzy. Called Direct TV and found out I needed a HD receiver. After that I was totally blown away but the picture, it is like looking out a window. The built in DVD is truly an added bonus due to the fact I don't have to have a seperate player with cables hanging all over. After much research and uncertainty I finally went for it and bought this and I am not at all disappointed or left wondering if I made the right decision. I don't have all the problems other people wrote about. To them l say all you have to do is buy the protection agreement and if something goes wrong Best Buy will make things right with no hassle(from other products I bought, not this item).

You can't go wrong with this TV. This TV is fantastic. Great picture and surprisingly good sound (considering the negative comments some reviewers made). I was looking for a 22" TV for my office/den and I read all the reviews on Amazon and other web sites. I visited several retailers to compare models but couln't find this one in a store. I have two Panasonic Plasma sets and felt confident in the brand so I ordered it. My cable company doesn't offer digital TV without premium channels and a cable box (which I have on both of my large screen plasma TVs), so I wasn't expecting a great picture on every channel when I hooked the TV up to basic cable. What a surprise! Every channel was crisp and clear, even better than what I get on the plasma TVs. I ran the initial setup and to my surprise the tuner picked up 45 digital channels in addition to the analog channels I was expecting. I assumed the cable company had upgraded thier service, so I ran the setup again on my kitchen TV (19"

Bought the TV a week ago. Picture looked great in the store and sounded pretty good too. Was very excited to set it up in the bedroom. Got it mounted on the wall and have watched two DVDs on it. Sounds odd, but the picture wasn't quite as great as it was in the store, but there are settings that you can play with for that very thing. Hadn't had the chance to play with that setting however because 2 days later the TV wont even turn on- No sound OR picture. Not even a delightful little hum.

Will be exchanging this TV ASAP. (too bad BestBuy doesn't refund gas miles).

I hope it was jus this particular TV. The picture quality was horrible. If you played around with the adjustments to get a good picture on one channel, the picture quality on the others was horrible. I bought this system because it had a built in DVD and my wife is recovering from major surgery. There was no way i was going to adjust the picture for evey channel. Like said at the beginning I hope this defect was limited to this paricular TV only, but i have my doubts, they do not sell this TV/DVD in their stores and there must be a reason.

Samsung LN22B460 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

In you bed room this TV is horrible. One would want to be laying down or sitting, but if you do that the lighting would make it look black. The TV is on top of a cabinet not even that tall, but it still looks black. Then the next day its image went black and you could only hear sound. It would say it was still on when it wasn't. I returned it the next day. The cost is way too much for this television; I got an Insignia for the same cost 26" and it was way better than the Samsung. DO NOT BUY if you want to see color and picture.

The picture quality is great, the lighting is most amazing. When i was looking for a TV in the store I knew i would need one with a good viewing angle adaptability. It doesn't change much when you view it from an angle and it doesn't good black like Samsung televisions. I got this TV over a Samsung. You can actually see it from below unlike the majority of televisions. When we were in the store i kneeled down to see which would look best from a lower angle and this one was best. I definantly reccomend this TV

It is what I expected from Samsung and Amazon. It was up and playing in a few minutes. A perfect TV for a bedroom. To top it all off, I ordered the TV at 11:00 am on Tuesday and it was delivered the next morning at 10:30am. No traffic and no rude and dumb salespeople.

Insignia NS-L26Q-10A - 26" LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV

I purchased this TV on Friday, January 29th and am extremely happy with it. The sound is great, I compared this television to the Dynex brand because they were both in my price range. The Dynex sound is poor and the higher you turn up the volume, the worse it sounds. This Insignia TV has much better quality for the price! This is an HD television but I do not have HD cable and the picture is excellent.

I am very pleased with this purchase and I recommend this television to everyone.

I bought the Panasonic brand HDTV because when my Panasonic TZ5 digital camera failed under warranty, Panasonic service was first rate. They replaced my TZ5 in 10 days with what appears to be a brand new unit that works perfectly. That's outstanding warranty service. No hassles at all! This is my first HDTV. It was easy to set up, but I did need to read the manual to do so (which is to be expected for my 1st HDTV). The picture quality is fine and even more importantly my wife is happy with the TV. I did notice that I have to turn the sound volume on both the TV and the Cablebox to almost full on each of them to get adequate sound out of it. I can't get the TV to be very loud nomatter what, but it is adequate (but not more than adequate). I am entirely satisfied with the viewing angle. I often view from 45 degree off center, and have no problems at all. I noticed a small 'delay effect' in the picture where one portion of the screen is a fraction of a second delayed in updating the picture.

Westinghouse 26" HDTV DVD Combo (SK-26H570D)

I bought this television a year ago, and completely regret it. The biggest reason I purchased this model was that I wanted a TV / DVD combo. The DVD player would act a little funny soon after buying it, if I put a DVD in with the tv off, it would turn on but the volume would not work. Then later it starting having sync issues, if I paused it at any point the sync would be off when I resumed. Now, a year after purchasing, the DVD player has completely failed in a matter of a couple days. No matter the disc it putters and then says "NO DISC." Additionally, as soon as I got the television set up I realized how limited of a viewing angle it has. If you are looking at it straight-on it will look fine, but the slightest angle and the colors are very skewed and the picture is hard to decipher. One more thing, because of the front-load dvd, this unit is pretty boxy. Not a good candidate for wall-mounting.

Wanted a T.V. that had great picture and sound. Looked at this one and a samsung and made up my mind once I turned up the volume. This T.V. has an amazing sound, and the picture is perfect. If your looking for something a bit less expensive you will definitly be getting your moneys worth.

LG 26LH20 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black

I needed a modest sized TV (22" to 26") for my bedroom. Along with good picture quality I wanted a set that had TRULY wide viewing angles. So many LCD sets 26" and under have awful viewing angles, especially when looking at the screen from below. This LG set has great viewing angles for an LCD and is working well in my application. The HD and SD picture quality are fine. The menu has fine tuning options I would expect to see in much more expensive sets.

As has been reported in many reviews of small flat panel TV's, the sound quality of this TV is OK at best. However based on reviews I expected awful and it is better than that. My only other complaint is how well the remote communicates with the TV. Once in awhile buttons need to be pressed twice. The problem appears to be with the remote itself as my Harmony 659 seems to run the set much better.

I highly recommend this set as long as buyers are aware that the sound is not great but adequate for a modest sized bedroom.

We bought this television for a small room for an existing entertainment center, so we had to make sure it would fit in the space available. This television has a very good picture and sound for a small space. I would recommend this television for anyone that needs one for a small room.

This was a bit of an impulse purchase. I saw the price on Amazon and I knew I couldn't pass it up. However, don't think I don't know my way around a HDTV! When I was in college I worked summers selling televisions at a major U.S. retailer, and as such, I received extensive training in the technology. I received this television a few days ago. I ordered HD service from my cable provider the same day. The first time I saw a real HDTV channel on this television I just couldn't help but smile. It looks incredible! This set is the perfect size for a bedroom. Even with factory settings the sound and picture is fantastic. The colors are bright and crisp. If you're looking at a 26" set you should seriously consider this set.

Great buy. Put this tv/dvd combo in my bedroom. Previously had a 22in and it was just too small. This is a great size, but not obnoxious. The sound quality is decent. We played a movie from the Redbox and had no problems with skipping or anything. My only complaint is the remote. Definitely needs to be modified. There are so many buttons on it due to being a tv/dvd combo that it's difficult to just change the channel or volume without trying to read the remote labels. I believe due to the size of the tv that this would mainly be used for bedrooms. The sleep timer should have it's own button on the remote so you don't have to try and scroll through 3 menus to turn it on....it wouldn't be as bad if the remote was backlit. Overall, great buy. We use the tv daily and haven't had any issues. Also easy to install.

Samsung LN26B460 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

I purchased this tv for my Mom to replace a Panasonic crt. I can also compare it to two far more expensive tv's I have (Sony and Panasonic). Its an ok tv for the price but lacks a lot of simple features that make it difficult to operate. As far as pic quality goes, its good on hd and poor on sd. Compared to the above three tv's, the pic quality is a distant 4th. The biggest issue is the control set. The tv does not auto-detect inputs and does not auto-detect video size. As a result, you constantly have to fiddle with the remote. For the cost of a few lines of writing code, the tv could be a lot simpler to use. I have not owned a tv in 15 years that can't do this. We tried with both component and hdmi inputs and with a Samsung dvd player (purchased to see if it would auto-detect, nope, returned a day after we bought it). I would not purchase this tv again. While I can't compare it to other low cost sets, I can't believe the poor controls are the norm in its price bracket.
