I purchased this lcd tv for my 10 year old son. No problems with it, my 10 year old can watch DVDs and use it to play games. It exceeeded expectations for this price point.

I was looking for a fair-priced DVD player that could double as a TV (and possibly a PC monitor) -- yes, in that order -- to use in our moderate-sized bedroom. Originally, I was set to order the comparable SHARP model but it was sold out, so I went with this TOSHIBA. I was a bit apprehensive about it because of all the negative reviews on its sound quality, but with Amazon's awesome returns policy and process in mind, I took the plunge. Here's my review after 1 month of ownership... APPEARANCE: Looks great! The TOSHIBA logo on the front lights (and stays lit) when you turn the set on. This feature can be turned off, too. The remote control looks and feels cheaper and of lower quality than the set, but it works fine. EASE OF USE: If you've ever used a TV and DVD player in the past, this is a breeze. Just scan the user manual for what you need -- hookups, DVD, channel programming, etc. The manual is also pretty easy to manage. Upon reflection, I could have skipped the manual,

I was looking on the unternet at 22" Flat Screen TV's to replace my old tube TV in the kitchen. When I came upon the Sharp LC-22DV27UT TV/DVD combo, its capabilites caught my eye. I decided to go to a Electronics store to check it out. The TV looked great, the picture was better than most of the other 22" models and the sound , although weak, was loud enough to hear it sitting ten feet away. When I asked the clerk to stick a DVD in there was a problem. The DVD went in okay, and the screen said it was reading, but then the screen went black and stayed black. The clerk ejected and re-inserted the disk a couple times with the same results. I asked did he have another TV in stock and he said yes. So I bought it, took it home and got it all set up in the kitchen. The picture color needed a little adjustment, but otherwise it was great, until I tried to use the DVD. Upon inserting the DVD in the slot it would immediately eject. I tried putting the disk in frontwards and backwards with

The TV set works just fine but the whole digital channel thing is very confusing and difficult to me. Perhaps the TV is at fault, perhaps not but here is what I observed. When I connected the TV it automatically (or so it seemed) began to scan and note all of the analog and digital channels. Soon after it did this I got a print out for all of the cable channels for my area from the Comcast web site. None of the digital channel numbers match the numbers Comcast provides. Comcast uses whole numbers all the way up to the 800s but the Toshiba TV identifies these numbers as 25-001 or 55-003 which are totally different that the 3 numbers Comcast assigns. After spending about an hour and a half working on it I was finally able to make my own listing of the digital channels we watch regularly according to Toshiba. What a pain! (If this is explained in the 50 page manual, my apologies but I want something more intuitive and I'm not about to read a 50 page TV manual.) The other things that

I've already reviewed my 26" Sharp TV/DVD combo and the same assessment applies to this one. It's a great little unit in every way as far as I'm concerned and I recommend it highly!

The picture quality was only good if you were exactly eye level with the tv. I got this tv for my bedroom and had the tv sitting on a chest of drawers, and while laying in bed watching the tv the picture was dark and blurry. Watching from and angle slightly below the tv the picture quality was terrible, but as long as you were eye level it was great. Returned the tv the next day and exchaged it for a LG and love it.

Appearance: Since the remote was, ahem, not good, I had to frequently use the buttons on the tv. They were not separated very well and I pushed the wrong buttons all the time Everything else looked okay, but the buttons were a major turn-off. Ease of use: buttons on tv and remote--horrible. Features: It had a SD card reader, USB reader, AND DVD which all worked great. You can put the name of your channels in the tv. You can't set the time?! There are features on the menu that can't be accessed. Sound is not so great for playing music. Picture quality: Was not better than my 2003 19-inch RCA crt tv but was okay for the price. Portability: Was very light-weight, which was the main reason I bought a flat screen tv. DVD player: I don't remember having any problems with it. I called Coby about the remote and the features that couldn't be accessed. The lady told me that the batteries probably needed to be changed. The batteries had a "made" date and an expiration date on them. I don't

Have loved having this TV as a secondary! Picture is clear and very good quality. DVD play is quick to start up. With an antenna, a lot of digital TV signals come in. Sound is good in the small room we have it in. Very glad I bought it. Worth every bit of nearly $400 I spent!

Bought this for my son's room for his computer and also to function as a TV/DVD. The TV/DVD function great, picture is a good quality, sound is good. Buttons on the remote are layed out in a weird way so its not the easiest remote to use. The main problem is it doesn't work at 1680x1050 resolution! The EDID info the monitor gives to the OS says 1680x1050 43hz but when you select that resolution it says NO INPUT. Requests to COBY Support for a monitor.inf or custom EDID go unanswered. I've tried 2 computers and 3 different video cards. Right now I have to run the monitor at 1280x1024 and it doesn't look right.

Great TV, larger screen than I expected If you are not connecting to HiDef then you should use the S-Video connections for best quality Amazon is the best, I paid 50.00 more for this same TV thru a competitor just 4 months earlier.

I have been without a working television for the last 3 years. When I broke down and decided to buy another set, I took my time and went to all my local outlets - WalMart, Best Buy and Staples and priced sets and learned about key features. I chose this set for the following: great clear picture quality - at least to my eyes, even more important to me - the audio is surprisingly good - it is loud enough and there are enough choices on your audio menu that you can tailor the sound - I would recommend that you use the surround sound feature, the remote control is adequate and there are outputs for computer and catv built in and it is digital ready. In addition, this unit came with a DVD player, and the quality of the player is excellent. Overall the LC-22DV27UT is worth the money being charged. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! Are there things I wish it had...yep - 1080 dp. But I am unwilling to pay a considerable amount more for that feature. I also would have preferred a full service espresso

Aging eyes required a bigger screen than the little 13" we were watching, hence this "big" screen tv, and the built in DVD player allowed us to get away from reruns. Its light weight, easy to assemble (stand to tv itself), easy to use. PIcture is great! Sound is very good. takes up very little space (important for us), we could have even gotten a wall mount if we wanted. I have two complaints. time lag between changing the channel and having the image come up. For those of us who surf a lot, its like dial up computer service vs DSL. You have to wait for it to load up. My second complaint is the way the TV reads the signals from our cable channel. I now have channel 42.002, 42.003, etc. So if I want to watch the Closer in digital instead of analog I have to remember that it comes up on channel 47.005, while Monk in digital can be found on channel 42.007. These specifics are not found in the TV guide, and there is no specific way to actually put those numbers into the remote.

It's an awesome price for everything that you get and it performs well when you consider that expectation. There are a few quirky things: - The menu is oddly complicated (and I am a techie) - The remote control truly stinks! It is a confusing layout plus it just doesn't work so well unless you hold it just perfectly. I have played DVDs, USB files, connected to an antenna for receiving HD channels and have no complaints about it's performance here.

I called customer service for a code for a universal remote. None available. Could give the tv five stars but its like a great door with a key that might/maybe/sometimes works. Lots of others to choose from.

I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. I have this TV/DVD mounted to a wall in the cuddy of my boat. I read many reviews that complained about the audio but I have no complaints. The sound and picture are great. The only thing I could live with out is the Toshiba logo that lights up when the TV or DVD is turned on!

We purchased this Sharp TV with a built in DVD player for its DVD abilities. Once it is up and running, we have been totally pleased with the picture quality and sound. Getting there, however, is sometimes a chore. The remote that accompanied the product is not the one described in the materials, and so it took -- indeed is still taking -- some experimentation to figure what does what and how to accomplish even something as basic as pausing the DVD. Equally so, getting started on a DVD with more than one selection is still non-trivial to us. I am sure all this will change shortly once we get accustomed to it and then we will be totally enamored. For the moment, I would welcome a greater ease of use of the DVD. I cannot speak to any other feature.

got this combo unit for use in the RV works well use it at home as well the remote does not work sometimes so you have to restart the TV and it works, picture quality is good but the sound is weak but you can run it through a powered speaker or home theater.overall good value for your buck this one is the least expensive out of all the AC/DC models we looked at but if you don't need the AC/DC feature keep looking for a name brand for better quality and price

Originally purchased for my 5th wheel camper, but I don't think it's going to make it out of my bedroom.I set it up just to check it out,and really can't say enough about it.Beautiful picture, sharp, great colors on factory setting. My biggest worry was the sound as flat panels tend to have low volume. Not this one, just fine for my applications i.e. bedroom and camper.sooo... glad I read the reviews between this one and the Toshiba I was going to get. This TV is absolutely awesome!!!

I worth the price! I bought this TV more than a month ago. I ordered with amazon and arrived surprisingly fast, two days and I selected free-shipping method. I tried the TV, and sadly, I got no sound, tried everything, I put external speakers and got sound. I called Coby Tech support and they told me to return the item. I did, and I got a replacement very quickly. This one is working perfectly and I love it, is not a big TV but has a lot of features: 1. Very good sound quality, the volume goes from very quiet (sometimes you want to watch TV in the night and want to watch TV without waking your partner and be able to listen what is being said, here you will find the volume in between) to very loud. 2. The picture quality is great. Watching a movie is a good experience, you will not struggle trying to watch scenes with very low light. 3. The DVD player works excellent, so far I haven't had any problem trying to read a disc. 4. The USB port is definitely a plus. You can put in your flash
