I got this camera because it had such amazing reviews and because my mom had the 1100 model and I loved the pictures. I HATE THIS CAMERA!!! I had a Kodak Easy Share and I loved how the pictures turned out and how easy it was to use, but it was too bulky for a diaper bag. I got the Canon 1200 for its portability and the "amazing" pictures it claims to take. Boy am I disappointed. The auto feature is all but useless. 9 out of 10 photos taken with the auto feature turn out blurry. Even when it looks good on the screen I download them and see they are in fact blurry. (if you read a lot of reviews you will see the problems with the auto feature and blurry photos) I have missed so many cute photos of my baby due to this stupid camera. The 1100 was far superior and much more user friendly. I am not a camera person so maybe if you know the ends and outs of cameras it will work for you, but if you are just a normal person looking for a point and shoot camera THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!!

I find it very unacceptable to pay $150 for a camera and find out that it cannot be used as sold. It does not come with a memory card and nothing in the sales information provided prior to the purchase calls this out. Therefore I will not buy another product from either the supplier or Canon.

This is a great camera. I've only owned two digital cameras and this one is the best so far. The picture quality and features are great. It's fits easily in my purse, with a case. I was looking for a pink camera only, and this one is not only cute, it gets the job done. I would definitely recommend this camera.

I bought this camera before Christmas 2009, and took lots of pictures during the colorful holidays. I was not thrilled with the results - photos seemed dull, flat, and uninteresting. Photos taken with my 6-year-old Sony were much better! Thought about returning the camera, but couldn't be bothered. Wish I had - camera recently fell off a low end table, and the small plastic clasp for the battery/memory card compartment broke off. Now, because compartment doesn't close properly, camera doesn't always work. I have a good excuse to get a different camera - think I'll go back to Sony.

I bought this camera for my little sister; her first one. I decided to give it a try since I was considering a Samsung anyways. I have owned an HP camera and more recently a Sony Cybershot ;P This camera kicks both to the curve!
Let me simply cut to the chase:
-I've always had a tough time finding a camera that takes really good pictures in REALLY BAD lighting, & THIS ONE DOES IT VERY WELL.
-It's small with a nice color.
-I rated features 4/5 because I'm yet to mess around with that part of it. It takes a little while to save the pictures as you take them but that's not a big deal if you consider the fact that you're bound to end up with a decent picture.
-The pictures look smooth and non-grainy (I can't say the same for pictures taken with my Sony Cybershot)

I was reluctant to purchase this camera because of the high price tag, but I researched and found good reviews on it, so I decided to try it. I am a Silver Premier, so I had 45 days to determine if I was satisfied. Here I am 7 months later and have had zero complications with this camera. I enjoy taking pictures and having the ability to change the color (e.g. Black and White, Sepia). I rarely ever have to charge this camera, the battery life is exceptional. I have read some negative reviews about this camera concerning the auto focus and blurriness. Please disregard the negatives, those individuals obviously cannot read a manual. This is especially good for individuals with children, as we all know they cannot sit still. This camera has no issue with capturing a moving object flawlessly. (It does require some changing of specs-- e.g.-"dual" mode) This camera is a bit more complicated than I wanted, but can easily be understood with practice. this is a really good drive. I use it in my Macbook Pro 15 in unibody. I needed more space for all my stuff and this drive works very well. Also it has a great warranty just incase anything does happen. Western Digital has the best drives in the business. They are reliable and reasonably priced. If you need a large sized hard drive for your laptop this is the one.

I purchased this camera primarily to interview old people for an oral history. The video image was secondary to the audio. The audio on this camcorder is not good. It has a built in microphone on top and the sound quality was terrible in a quiet room at 3 feet away. The sound was distant and unclear. It was unusable. I tried to find an external microphone. Eventually, I contacted a representative at the Sony website and I was told that Sony does not make an external microphone for this and similar models. SO IF AUDIO IS IMPORTANT, BUY A PRODUCT WHICH CAN BE USED WITH AN EXTERNAL MICROPHONE

Purchased this camcorder after a returning a Panasonic for poor video quality. Menus are easy to navigate with the touch screen and the video is superior to the Panasonic

I love Sony products because they usually never break. So, I paid the premium to get this portable DVD player. After 3 weeks, the LCD screen stopped working. It now flickers, has a line through it and shows incorrect colors (almost like a film negative). I tried everything I could think of to "reset" the screen but nothing worked. It's under warranty so I'm sending it in to be fixed for free. However, I will only get a "refurbished" unit back. Maybe I should have returned it to Amazon and bought a new one. Everything else about the unit was excellent. Battery Life great. Nice screen (when it worked). Good sound quality. Used it on airplanes and in the hotel room connected to a tv. Only goofy thing is the lcd stays on while it is connected to the tv. Maybe that caused the problem.

I bought this in a package deal: The camera, sd card, extra battery, and carrying case. Its a pretty good deal because the camera works very well and is very easy to setup and point-and-shoot with. The sd card is made by a reputable sd card manufacturer and the carrying case can be used in conjunction with a belt or you can use the provided strap. The one problem I have noticed so far with the camera is a problem with red eyes when your shooting in a dark place, like outside at night. I tried to correct the problem with the supposed "red-eye correction" feature, however I still get photos where people have the red eyes. Also, the extra battery that comes in the package deal is bad. I fully charged the battery right after I took it out of the packaging, still only got 30-35 minutes worth of usage out of the Digipower battery. Battery that came with the camera lasted about 1.5 to 1.75 hours from fully charged, not the 2.5 hours as advertised.

The second LCD on the front is revolutionary and excellent for taking pictures of yourself when no one else is around. This camera takes very good pictures. The video quality is lacking. I shot a few videos while walking slowly and watching it back they were extremely shaky. Zooming in or out while shooting disables the sound for a second while the camera readjusts.

After about a month of use the camera has proved to be a good buy. It took the place of my wife's previous APS film camera and fits nicely in her purse. The pictures taken to date have been excellent except for those in very low light. The little flash is inadequate for anything but very short range and it was difficult to learn how to force flash for fill use in daylight. We didn't expect it to perform like a pricey DSLR and for its intended point-and-shoot purpose it has been great.

I love this camera. Just bought it after my sister broke mine unexpectingly. It is small a little to small for my liking bt for some people thts a +. Lol. The camera features are great, there is a child mode i luv. There is also a beauty mode, where it retouches the skin.

This camera is easy to use, has great functionality and the picture quality is excellent. There are also a lot of great features that make taking pictures easier and more fun. The front screen is a phenomenal idea when you don't have anyone around to take your picture.

This is an excellent little camera. I had no idea Samsung even made cameras, but they seem to make good ones! I set out last week to find an inexpensive but good quality camera. It had to have at least 8 megapixels, an SD slot, and a rechargeable battery. I saw this one at best buy & the color is what attracted me first- it is the PRETTIEST shade of turquoise with dark chrome accents(it also comes in silver & pink). I picked it up, turned it on, and fell in love instantly. This camera has everything. I'm no 'photographer' or anything, andI've only had 2 or 3 other cameras, but this is a darn good one. The pics are excellent, and so are the videos. There are a ton of options, and they're all easy to figure out. I have yet to crack open the manual, its so easy to use. The picture mode wheel is very convenient, it takes only seconds to switch from taking snapshots to recording video to recording memos, etc. It also takes voice memos. i love the screen on the front, cz i can take great pics of myself with my son. and their is the child mode and it gets my sons attn, with him looking at the camera i get truely great pics.

This camera has everything I wanted in a small lightweight easy to use camera. The shutter speed is amazing. I have been able to take pictures of the children playing and the pictures turn out great. They are actually in the frame! I would recommend this camera for anyone as well as purchase it as a gift for someone. The camera is a great size to be able to carry in your pocket or purse.

This camera is simple to learn, easy to use right from the box and very much a great travel camera. The zoom and IS is wonderful, and easy to understand the quality you will get.

It is versatile, easy and OK for the price, which was the main criteria when purchased. I must say, however that I am disappointed in the picture quality. Blowing up is out of the question.
I would recommend it to anyone that wants an inexpensive, easy to use camera over quality pics.
