Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA II, 32 MB Cache, 7200 RPM, 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive WD10000LSRTL - Retail
+ 0 likes
I bought this drive to separate my data from my bootable O/S drive, so I could use Windows 7 to create an image of my O/S. The install took all of 5 minutes. I did have to purchase the data cable separately, and a conversion power cable as my machine was out of the SATA power cables.

This drive is really, really fast. Moving my data files over (about 30GB) took minutes, compared to copying them to a USB drive or DVD which was a pain.

My machine performance and boot up seems faster now too. I did move my paging file to this second drive, and I think having the data on a different drive helps with the O/S performance too.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 10.5 Hour Battery Life
+ 0 likes
The ac adapter failed and Wendy the supervisor at ASUS gave me the run-around and will not honor the 1 year warranty. The warranty card plainly states that the warranty covers everything but, the battery or free accessories such as mice or laptop bag. She says that excludes them from covering the AC adapter that is integral to using the laptop. I contend that the AC Adapter is not a free accessory. Wendy is at the Customer Support Line they keep putting in these review responses and their job is to tell you that your warranty does not mean what it reads. I believe they have made a business decision to not stand behind these because they have a high failure rate on the AC adapter. I believe it will cost them more in unhappy customers than they gain by cheating us out of our warranty. I have bought many ASUS products in the past and thought they were a reputable company. I can not recommend them in the future.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 10.5 Hour Battery Life

This netbook is fine, however the power supply failed in less than 4 weeks. I read reviews from others, and hoped that Asus would have fixed the power supply problem by now. I was wrong. Asus customer sevice was terrible... they refused to replace the defective power supply. Unfortunately from this experience I have to recommend that you avoid Asus products (they could have had a happy customer if they'd just replace a defective power supply).

Well built and nice looking product. The rounded edges and sleek lines of this netbook are really nice. It has a subdued pattern on the lid that is unique. Other Features that I like are the keyboard and built in webcam.

Samsung BD-P3600 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

I was initially very satisfied with the 3600, but after owning it for a couple of months, I can provide my objective opinion based on real life experiences along with some subjective feedback as well.
• Price: Based on today’s technology and economy, the player is slightly overpriced. The BR DVD industry realizes that in order to keep pace with market demands and heavy competition they must pull at all of the stops to create more demand – Their solution was/is to add functions such as Pandora, Netflix etc.; and as cool as these features are, once the novelty wears off, then the consumer focuses on the primary DVD functions.
• Set –up: This player is not your typical “plug and play” device. Patience and basic internet technology understanding is a plus. Read the directions, and once you have set up your Wi-Fi as noted, re-boot your modem and all should be good. The player will come with a factory setting of 1080i, therefore, make sure that

XFX ATI RADEON HD 4650 1GB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card
+ 0 likes
I came from the nVidia world and after having issues with my 8600GT, I decided to try an ATI graphics card and was not disappointed! Call of Duty World at War and Call of Duty Modern Warfare play nicely with my setup (AMD Athlon X2 6000+ CPU with Gigabyte motherboard, 4 gigs of RAMM, Windows 7 Ultimate).

Very pleased.

Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
+ 0 likes
I was looking for something above the grade of a plain, simple, ordinary flash for our Nikon D-80. I found this product although very simple and automatic in use out of the box, it has features that make it possible to use in more advanced settings/situations. Works seemlessly with our Nikon and with great results. To me it was a big jump from the basic model with regard to cost than I was looking to spend but all and all happy with the outcome.

Put hard drive in an External Maxtor II one touch case to replace bad drive. When I start the drive it sounds like its about to die. But after about 3 minutes it becomes quite. After the startup is complete the drive only makes expected noise of being wrote to.

I converted over to Windows 7 and thought this would be a great time to get a new hard drive and might as well make it big. I plan on working with video a lot more this coming year and this is a great way to start.

MSI Wind U100-641US 10-Inch Black Netbook - 3 Cell Battery
+ 0 likes
I had a problem with battery not holding charge. BB sent me an entire new computer in a week and the new one works fine. I tested my new battery, fully charged to dead- 3 hrs and 16min. I thought that was okay. I always plug it into a wall so it really not a huge issue.
As far as the small keyboard, your fingers adapt within the first few times using it. Overall a great little netbook and have recommended it.

Samsung BD-P3600 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

While I was initially able to set up the wireless connection with ease, one of the updates disabled the wireless. After a lengthy call to Samsung, they were able to get it working (their next option was to disable all my security settings on my wireless network - yeah right!). Since then it's really been 100% trouble-free.

Yes, as some comlain, the updates take a while. Big surprise, they are large files that must be downloaded then installed. I'd take that over not playing discs properly or not allowing some disc feature to work (that's what most of the updates are for people!).

I like the sleek design, the DVD upconversion is fantastic, load times are fairly fast for a Blu Ray player, I get a lot of use out of the Netflix and Pandora applications. I'd buy this again knowing what I know now and would certainly recommend it to others.

If you don't need the wireless, buy the BD-P1600 as it's basically the same thing without the wireless adapter.

Fujifilm FinePix S1500 10MP Digital Camera with 12x Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Optical Zoom
+ 0 likes
I bought this product online on Friday, and just received it today, Wednesday. The price was right and I was looking for a good camera to take to Mexico in December. Im no expert when it comes to cameras, but I think this is a really great value! The quality of the pictures are great, I LOVE the panoramic option. The video quality is excellent. The camera is obviously bigger then a regular sleek and slim digital camera, but I was surprised at how light it was and how easy it was to hold. The camera is very simple. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. If you are looking for a high quality camera that will take BEAUTIFUL pictures, this is a great buy! Don't even hesitate, its wonderful, and even my husband, who was opposed to me buying another camera, had to set down his Xbox controller and mess with the camera, taking pictures of the house and the animals! I cant wait to take my camera along for the holidays and start taking more pictures!

The system uses 4AA batteries and a SD card. This is great since where do you recharge when you travel or download pictures. Pictures are great and 10X zoom is excellent. I had to read the manual a little but most of the systems were intuitive.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 Video Card

This was my 1st online order from bestbuy. Have to say the tracking was extremely helpful, and very accurate. When I got the card installation was pretty simple, I'm not exactly a tech. The hardest part was tying back the cables from the new 550w power supply away from the heatsinks that i purchased seperately. The included drivers even worked on the 1st install.I did not have to look elsewhere for good drivers. The graphics setup was simple and self explanatory, just follow the steps. It has now been installed for about a month, and I have had no issues whatsoever. Temp runs around 55c with graphics maxed on WOW, have not tried it on anything that would use more yet. Most definitely worth what I paid for it, highly recommended too. Will post if anything changes.

HP Mini 110-1125NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)

I am a little women and needed a laptop that wouldn't kill me to carry around. This mini is very light weight with a cool design. Everything works perfect except that I did not purchase extra memory so it takes a little while to boot up and sometimes the internet is slow loading. I will be purchasing extra memory soon. The battery life is great I can sit through a 3 hour class and still be fine. I love the keyboard it is very easy to type on and it is actually a very good sized keyboard.

I've always had Maxtor drives in the past and have never had any problems with them. They just don't die. I've still got an old 20 GB Maxtor from 2001. That said, this is my first WD drive and I'm really happy with it. The price is good, lots of storage, and it seems to be pretty quick. I'll have a better idea in a couple weeks once my new system is done; right now it's running off of a Promise SATA PCI card. If you're looking for a good 1 TB drive, I see no reason to not get this one.
