Lenovo ThinkPad T61 6465-9TU 15.4-Inch Laptop (2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, XP Pro)
This laptop is very good. It certainly can do any kind of analysis without crashing. However, when I got it, it felt a bit heavy to carry around.

A friend of mine has the T43 model, and I thought I would get something similar. It happens that on the T60 series the size was increased and with it the Kgs. If you are considering a really good and light laptop go for the Lenovo ThinkPad X61 7675 - Core 2 Duo T7300 / 2 GHz - Centrino Pro - RAM : 1 GB - HD : 120 GB - DVD?RW (?R DL) / DVD-RAM - Gigabit Ethernet - WLAN : 802.11 a/b/g/n (draft), Bluetooth 2.0 - TPM - finge, it is smaller, has very good performance, and is very cute :-) However, it does not have a CD player, which is sometimes a bit distressing.

If the portability is not the main issue and you are getting a laptop to work at your office, I would certainly recommend this one!

Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-EZ1004X - Core 2 Duo T5870 / 2 GHz - Centrino - RAM 1 GB - HDD 160 GB - DVD?RW (?R DL) / DVD-RAM - GMA X3100 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0 - WLAN : 802.11a/b/g - Win X
The Toshiba is a very solid fast laptop. I needed it for various business travel. Previously, I had a HP dv 2000 which was a total waste of money and broke down after one year. So- I certaintly did a fair amount of research when it came to purchasing a new laptop. The screen is amazing and so is the sound quality.
The seller Beach Camera listed the price as $732.00 one day and $698.00 the following day. Beach Camera or Amazon would not give back the difference.
Also-it states it is 15.4 screen. It is a 17 inch screen. It is very difficult to find a laptop travel case that fits this large thick computer.

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Notebook - Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz - 14.1 WXGA - 1GB DDR2 SDRAM - 120GB - DVD-Writer (DVD-RAM/-R/-RW) - Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet - Windows XP Professional - Black
I reviewed the Lenovo 3000 N200 Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 - Celeron M 540 / 1.86 GHz - RAM 512 MB - HDD 80 GB - CD-RW / DVD - GMA X3100 - WLAN : 802.11b/g - TPM - fingerprint reader - Vista Home Basic - 15.4" Widescreen TFT 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) - Microsoft Office Ready when I bought it earlier this year after my HP died. I had always been a big fan of the IBM Thinkpads and hoped that the 3000 N200 would be an economical replacement. Proving that you get what you pay for, I was very disappointed. I have subsequently wiped the N200 clean of Vista, installed Windows XP and gave it to my son. It works MUCH better under XP -- much faster.

I had always wanted to get the T61 because... well, I like thinkpads. I like the feel of the keyboard. Their displays are crisp and beautiful and the build is solid and durable. But at the time, my budget just wouldn't allow it. But after a few months, I was finally in a position to upgrade.

I was a little hesitant since all my experience with Thinkpads

DELL Inspiron 1720 17" Widescreen Notebook, 2.0GHz INTEL CORE 2 DUO, WiFi, 2GB RAM, 320GB, CDRW/DVDRW+DL, Webcam, Bluetooth, Windows Vista Home Premium
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1720, refurbished, and it has been nothing but trouble since the box was opened. During the "Computer Set-Up" Vista crashed & rebooted the machine. It kept randomly rebooting, without any rhyme or reason: While I was looking at the installed programs; When I tried some of the pre-packaged games (solitaire); When I was online using Windows Explorer; When I was using my Firefox browser. It would restart with multiple programs or a single program running.

The obvious fix was to upgrade to Windows XP. Except that this machine is engineered so that it is not backwards compatible with any OS prior to Vista.

It was even replaced with another refurbished machine which crashed just as frequently and inexplicably.

Then they replaced some of the hardware (CPU & Hard drive) and returned it without reinstalling the operating system or any software. After I did that the computer continued to randomly reboot. Now they want to return to the beginning and make me do their

Apple iMac 2.4GHz with 20" Display
I know the title to this review sounds confusing, but it will make sense after you have finish reading it.

This computer is fantastic! The first time viewing the giant 24 inch display I had a "wow" experience. The display is bright, colors are vibrant, and with its high resolution, photos are more life like. Another truly amazing feature is how quiet it is. It is noiseless! No fan sound! No sound from the hard drive! The only time is does make a sound is when the CD/DVD Drive is being used. Apple hit a home run on this! Another thing I like is how easy it is to setup. All you have to do is plug the power cord into your surge protector, next plug the usb keyboard into one of the usb ports on the back of the display, finally plug the usb mouse into one of two usb ports located on either side of the keyboard and your done. Also, I like how fast this system is compared to Windows. It starts up and shuts down faster. It goes to sleep and wakes up in seconds! And I must mention this system

20 iMac - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz 1GB Memory 320GB Hard Drive
You've seen the ads. You've heard the accolades. You take the plunge. The first 24 hours are really pleasing... the Mac "just works!" out of the box... it is really good if you are a total tech-incompetent. I am not, but I enjoyed the set-up: nicely done.

Then, you spend time with the machine. You start to use it. You start to have doubts - "have I made a terrible error?" Sadly, the answer is "yes."

All that noise about how "user friendly" the Mac is? Only true if you have absolutely no clue what you are doing, and don't want to do much anyway. The finer points of UI design, the small-print of usability - well, the Windows operating system is simply far, far better. An experienced, technically competent PC user will find the Mac UI profoundly irritating. Expect:

* Higher 'click counts'
* More random machine slow-downs
* Infuriating random events (icons vanishing, other weird
stuff...), as - of course - the God-like Mac programmers
know FAR more than you do about what you really

Apple Mac mini 1.83GHz
This weekend I picked up a Mac Mini (with the above mentioned specs..) after doing tons of research and truly looking at my overall needs. Originally my thought was to pick up a Macbook but after focusing on my needs and seeking a cheaper alternative to jumping into the MAC arena I decided to go this route. After being a PC user for many many years the thought of learning a new operating system seemed rather intimidating but having friends who have made the jump made the task seemed a bit less daunting..

I spent many hours perusing You Tube for Mac reviews...everything from Macbook AIR..to PRO..to Macbook and eventually MINI. There's a lot of good informative stuff out there!! Also reading the reviews on this site and many other online reviews I felt I was armed with enough knowledge to finally visit an APPLE store and ask some intelligent questions. Fortunately I ran into 2 young sales guys who knew their product well and tried to be as objective as possible about the product they

Dell Inspiron 1525 Pink Laptop (15.4" Wide Screen with true life, Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 at 1.66GHz, 2GB RAM, 120GB Hard Drive, 8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability, Windows Vista Premium)
Please do not buy this computer. I had this computer for two months and the screen is cracked internally. Dell said that I caused the damage and I would have to pay $400 to fix it. I work in social services and I don't have that kind of money. $400 is my rent for the month. I am now using my old Toshiba laptop that I have had for almost 6 years without any issues. I never taken it off my desk it has never dropped. This model in particular has the problem of internally cracked screens, just do some online searches and you will see this problem come up constantly. Stay away from this product.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Pink Laptop (15.4" Wide Screen with true life, Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 at 1.66GHz, 2GB RAM, 120GB Hard Drive, 8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability, Windows Vista Premium)
I can't begin to describe how cool this laptop is. It is all you need for personal or business work. I have an Acer Desktop with 1 GB of RAM and 100 GB Memory. This little guy has 4 GB of RAM and an Intel Duo Core Processor (that's basically at least twice as fast as my desktop) and 250 GB on the hard drive! Those items are critical for good, fast performance. The keyboard is perfectly typical in its layout and the mouse pad is actually sleek and slightly indented, allowing you to seamlessly run your finger over the metal. The two button pads allow for more functions. It is completely intuitive and although I prefer Windows XP Home over Vista Home (XP is faster), you can't get around that nowadays. It comes preloaded with everything you need and I actually uninstalled some unnecessary programs. I took out the Norton Virus software and put in Windows Live One Care (my preference on quality and ease of use).

There are lots of standards that used to be extras, like the Web Cam,

Apple iMac 2.4GHz with 20" Display
My daughter--a busy MD, mom, photographer-hobbyist--suffered, in the middle of her hectic schedule, the loss of a computer and asked me for a recommendation. Powerbook or iMac? 20" or 24"? Which 20" or 24"? Apple Store or Amazon? After some deliberation and "research" (an overused and abused word by consumers these days for "shopping"), I recommended the recently tweaked and revised iMac 20" 2.66 Ghz for the following reasons:

1. Someone with her busy schedule doesn't need to think about dragging a computer on her travels. Her PDA served her well during med school, but now she has to be person-focused at all times. A desktop machine tends to force its owner (like a piano) to make time as well as a work space for the machine, rather than have it constantly serving as a distraction. I would no more allow a notebook computer to replace my desktop machine than an electric piano replace my acoustic model, or a cell phone my regular home phone.

2. The 24" model admittedly has acquired glowing

20 iMac - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz 1GB Memory 320GB Hard Drive
I got tired of listening to my Mac mini's loud external drive. This thing is quiet, full of storage, has a beautiful screen and is overall amazing. Just amazing. Every single person who walks in to my office comes over to stare at it. They usually think it's just a "really nice monitor." Then I tell them, "No, that's the whole computer." Then they go back to their little Dell laptops and cry.

Apple Mac mini 1.83GHz
Using monitors, keyboards, and mice I already had, my wife was pleased that she could go Mac at the price of an entry PC. I did upgrade to 2 GBytes of memory by spending $50 at Crucial.

Adding memory is difficult. It may not have been worth the hours spent. You'll feel like a surgeon afterwards. This is why the 4 stars, not 5, were given.

This Mac runs far faster than the Core 2 Duo PC's running at 2.2 GHz.

Apple iMac 2.4GHz with 20" Display
New Mac user here. In fact, I bought the product online, got cold feet (fear that I wouldn't be able to figure it out), and canceled before it was set for delivery.... Thought about it some more over the weekend and ended up purchasing it on Monday.

Received the product quickly and when I took it out of the box, I thought, "Where are all of the cords and hard drive?".... There aren't any! Amazing... I'm totally 100% satisfied and am definitely a Mac lover now. I still have a lot to learn, but it's a lot of fun! Bought Microsoft Word & Excel and I am good to go. If you're contemplating on whether to convert to Mac, DO IT! It's much, much different than the one I used in the early 90's!

Apple iMac 2.4GHz with 20" Display
I've had this machine for about six months now it's been a pleasure to use; virtually silent and troublefree. I've been a mac owner for decades, and this is the best machine I've had yet. The screen is amazingly clear and the glossiness isn't a distraction. I use graphics programs such as Photoshop and InDesign and this is everything I need. It's worked perfectly right out of the box.

The one exception is the Time Machine backup program that automatically backs up to a connected spare hard drive. I feel that the program doesn't have enough options for what it saves (it saves everything) versus only the essential files that I want to save. The Time Machine backups take up an enormous amount of hard disk space on your spare drive, and as a result I've deleted the program from the applications folder and just backup manually.

The new-style keyboard took a bit of getting used to at first. I like crisp, clicky keyboards and originally felt that the Apple keyboard didn't have enough

Apple Mac mini 1.83GHz
For it's size, this computer can handle a lot more than one would expect. This is my second Mac (I got a MacBook Air a few months ago), and so far I love them better than any XP or VIsta computer I have ever used. I use this computer to run File Maker Advanced 9, Adobe's CS3 suite, and VMware Fusion (both XP and Vista) for SQL Server, Visual Studio, Access and a few other programs, it runs everything pretty well stock. Being the crazy IT person that I am though, I did end up creating a Mini mod, I added 4GB of RAM (yes, it will work with up to 4GB's, despite what APple says), a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, a Sonnet Aria Wireless N card, a SuperDrive for burning, and a paint job by ColorWare PC, and with these upgrades, this computer is by far the best little machine in the market. If your a typical, everyday user, only running Office 2008, or iWorks, than your fine running this computer stock, even for what I do, stock works, but I wanted to see how much this tiny little computer could handl

20 iMac - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz 1GB Memory 320GB Hard Drive
...until I bought this iMac and saw the light. No, I'm not a graphic artist or serious musician or anyone who can remotely be classified as "artsy fartsy." Still, after using my iMac for a couple of months, I understand why most Mac users are dedicated to their product with a near religious fervor.

The best way to describe the Mac experience to imagine that you've just been upgraded from flying coach to first class. PCs get the job done, but the comfort and ease of use level is only average. With a Mac, everything you need is at your fingertips (like any good attendant in the first class cabin). I mainly use the computer for business use, web surfing, and organizing music and photos (Mac's a triumph in this area). In each of this areas, the Mac platform glides in and out of each application with a smoothness that no Windows based PC can match.

If you are thinking about ditching PC, don't waste years stupidly overthinking your decision like I did. Take the plunge and give yourself the

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Notebook - Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz - 14.1 WXGA - 1GB DDR2 SDRAM - 120GB - DVD-Writer (DVD-RAM/-R/-RW) - Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet - Windows XP Professional - Black
we just got several of these laptops for our office. At first sight they're very well built and seems to be stable (just like the old IBM X31). However after 30 minutes using it, the screen got forzen and the only thing moving was the pointer. After a couple of minutes the pointer stopped moving and i got a blue screen saying there was "an infinite loop" and that the error code was nv4_disp (after a little research i found out that's a video card problem).

If it would only happen with my laptop, i'd be ok because those things happens from time to time, but the exact effect happend in the 8 other laptops they brought. Which makes me think it is a model issue. Now we hvae to deal with lost data bacause of the many restarts during the day.

I'd recommend to either look for a differente lenovo model or a completely different brand.

I like the fact that I can run XP Pro on it and MAC OSX. It's thin and small, has a built in camera, light weight, and doesn't run too hot. Its also easy to upgrade. I've put 3gigs of RAM in, and 250 gig H/D (Fujitsu SATA 2.5" H/D). This is an awesome machine and I use it a lot to do imovies. Cold Eyes

Apple Mac mini 1.83GHz
Its small, its powerful, its a mac. Its perfect for new mac users that are trying to make the transition into the Mac World. Since it runs an Intel chip, I decided to install Windows XP and it runs both operating systems PERFECTLY! I connected it to my HDTV through an HDMI connect via DVI converter and the DISPLAY is INCREDIBLE! (No sound through that connection though, had to connect Mac to external speakers). I'm still in shock at the size of this thing; almost the same size as my external hard drive.
